This video took me over 60 hours to put together when I include filming, editing and painting the miniature. If you want to show me your support, subscribing and liking the video would be greatly appreciated! 👌
Zumikito Miniatures love the production value I only started a channel myself recently and even the basics are killing me. Keep it up and I’ll keep on watching well done mate.
You are an amazing teacher and tour videos are so helpfull for me and for a lot of people too. I apreciate to mucho your effort doing this videos, thanks!
Holy cow, the one trick of taking a photo of your black model to see how it should reflect seriously bridged the gap for me! I always struggled trying to decide where to apply them 😅. It's so silly now you've shown me that!
This is the best Bounder/hopper paintjob I have seen on the internet. The charm in that helmet is insane. Working through a box of boingrots myself. This video is really useful
Dude...DUDE....Duuuuuude...I've been trying to get NMM Iron straight for SO LONG and this video just BAM and I did it. THank you so much for this video!
Fun fact: Metal armor seen under diffuse lighting (e.g. the sky) looks just grey fabric , only with slightly more shiny highlight than fabric has. The style of NMM we minipainters are used to mostly occurs with highly polished metal under artificial lighting with a few spot light sources. Most medieval era armor would probably not be highly polished. So if you can't paint NMM just chill, there's nobody under the sun who says your little dudes _have_ to wear chrome armor. :)
Im still struggling to achieve an outcome I am satisfied with but it seems to me, once one has the technique down its just a matter of using artificial textures to tone down the apparent high-polished look and bring it down to more realistic appearance.
I often find NMM guides/videos to be... intimidating. So much that I've avoided even attempting it at all. I have to say that after watching this one, I feel confident enough to try it using these explanations. Thank you for this and all of your other videos. They're Very helpful!
These five minit explinations are so good. You say a tone of info and in very interresting way, so I can easily pay attention, amazing! (Btw, I wish all the school teachers could explain like you :D)
@@Zumikito Thanks ! As a beginner your videos are really helpful. I don't have an IG... It's on cmon but I'm not sure you can link it here. www.coolminiornot.com/454766?browseid=11397560
I really liked this (and other tutorials) that you made. This has been a technique I've been curious but really intimidated to try. Still working on beginner-intermediate skills (layering/glazing for ex) but this was explained straightforward enough to be brave enough to try on an extra power axe I had in my bits can.
Quit presenting everything in a clear and precise way making it easy to follow to get good results. You're taking away all of my excuses for avoiding harder stuff. Subscribing so I can catch new stuff and come back when I'm ready to stop slathering on metallics. Thanks for including all your tools (and links) in the description too. Does the brush you're using at @2:23 always keep that good of a tip or do you find it flaying over time? I had some DaVinci brushes but no matter how careful I thought I was being they slowly lost their point. Likely a combination of user error and natural progression of a brush but just curious.
Placing down the colors is so bold. My problem is I need the model to look good during the whole painting process, I need to get past that. Great content as always, these 5 minute ones are solid
Concise, simple and informative. Definitely subscribing and looking forward to watching the rest of your videos. I'll be trying this the first chance I get
Awesome video, thanks for revealing one of the ways to do NMM. Hope to someday do that. For now, I'll stick to dip my miniature in silver chrome paint lol.
With the onset of the factions like Trans Hyperian Alliance, I think a video describing more uniques NNMs like orange would be great. I see this question floating around a lot and I think there's a great lesson in fundamentals hiding there
What brushes do you use? I'm having trouble finding a brush that holds a sharp tip like yours that can draw super fine lines. Great video btw, really helpful :D
Hi there, Another good short video, with crystal clear explanations. That's definitely a good receipe I will try asap. Quick question : your brush seems to be super thin... could you tell which reference it is ?
Quick question by the way : have you ever tried this with airbrush glazing instead of glazing with brushes ? I wonder if this could save time AND bring additionnal "smoothness" 🤔
@@Apprendrelapeinturesurfigurine I have tried this on one goblins with similar helmet with an airbrush (although the airbrush has too broad range to just glaze over transitions) and the result looks ok for just an hour or two of work, check my instagram for that post and see if you like the result!

Great video and thanks for the shoutout. :)
Just seeing your comment here made my day! Thank you

One of the best NMM basics videos I've encountered, subbed immediatly.
That is truly appreciated. Comments like these keep me going!
For being one of then shortest videos about NMM, I feel I have learned more from this one than I have from many longer ones. Great job. Subbed.

I agree, you have to sort of emphasize the nmm with more extreme contrast so it looks metallic
