To this old retired cops mind (80 yrs) this model or unit is the answer to my own mind boggling question, what is the best way to sharpen all of my families and friends knives. I've tried many electric/ belted models with fairly good success and can not master using various wet stones with my shaky hands. My pension has a hard time covering their MSRP , but I may have to save a few more pennies & nickels to cover the tab. The thought of using less Jack Daniels to comfort me on these cold, cold winter nights is enough to give me a severe case of the colliewobbles!!! Your reviews are very informative and much appreciated. TSPROF are the most innovative fixed pivot sharpeners I’ve seen. Simple ideas like an adjustable knife carriage to change the sharpening angle is simple but outside the box. I love the upgrade to a gear driven knife carriage over the previous friction fit. I would love spending the next couple decades testing this sharpener. You just missed my birthday on 12/24 but I’d love one of these for a belated birthday present.
I Purchased a Hapstone R2 and canceled my order the very next to pick up one of these masterpieces. The craftsmanship with Tsprofs products is insane, I also like how they continue to innovate and make improvements to an already great system. Now I just Have to save a few more dollars and explain to the wife why I need more money for a different sharpener haha. I have Always loved your content keep up the great work man, you have come a long way, Happy New Year’s.

ive been using my 15 year old smith precision kit; what i do not like about smiths is when you have to turn the knife over to touch up the other side. how do you like this machine for doing that... hope this enters me in the after Christmas give away potential. Thank you.

I just purchased the Kadet Pro and so far, I couldn't be more impressed. I'm still practicing and honing my skills on it and I'm getting better and better. I need to work on feeling the burrs better, but I'm still getting a pretty darn sharp edge. Marc Trainor

That sharpener has always intrigued me and I have been wanting to buy one for a while. That new dial they have for setting the sharpening angle is so much better than the method on the older models and it may be time to actually get one now. Thanks for the review!

I’d been considering the Wicked Edge sharpening system since I watched your review years ago and was impressed however the cost is prohibitive for me. Now this new Work Sharp version has come out and some of the comparison I’ve seen is with the TS Prof which you reviewed recently I’m about to watch. That said, since you’ve extensive experience with sharpening I hope you might shed light on which is the better system. Thanks & best regards!
Question on finding the angle using an angle cube - since you said the angle of the rod doesn't really change as you incline/decline the arm, couldn't you clamp your blade, put your stone in the holder and place it across the blade, then zero out your angle cube on the rod, and lastly place your cube on the platform and dial in the angle you want? That way you wouldn't have to do the guess and check method as you did in the video? Or is there something i'm missing that would invalidate those readings? I'm considering picking up a Kadet Pro (currently have a KME). Thanks!
Congratulations on owning yet another sharpener. I've always wanted one of those but I just cannot justify the price. I use an attachment on my Reeder grinder and get my knives all sharp as a razor. I have a similar sharpener but not nearly the quality of this one. I all but gave up using it due to just not being able to get consistent results. Probably user error. Might be time to upgrade to something like this. Thanks for the review an excellent content as always.

I would absolutely love a guide like this. I have a similar (much cheaper) type of sharpener and I have been saying that somebody needs to invent an Incra Miter style indent system out of metal for maximum repeatable results. I'm old, retired. My modest knife collection is hand sharpened using a variety of stones. Muscle memory is all the guide I have and would love a modern quality tool such as these. Liked and subscribed.
I have been very interested in these sharpening systems. I have had a Lasko sharpener for decades that works great but it is limited in the angle selection and the stone management is fussy. I have diamond and normal stones for it and a leather strop as well. Thanks for the great explanation of angle and hints to get the best bevel angles. Thanks!
The angle you sharpen at changes in different parts of the blade. You can clearly see this effect if you use TSProf`s axicube. It allows you to keep your bevels even on knives that are thicker near the tip

People never fail to amaze me with how the can reassure my confidence in the future generations. Knife sharpening is a lost art people have gotten so comfortable just buying new rather than fixing the old. Glad to see a company create such High quality products to get people into the art.

Pretty nice sharpener! I have used lanskys, spyderco, and work sharp belt knife sharpener. When it comes to a blade reprofile it’s time to pull out the lansky.. the customization of all the blade angles would sure be wonderful! I do agree if there is any angle difference it is so minor that I feel one wouldn’t notice but that’s me. Have a Merry Christmas! Liked and Subscribed!

I’ve run into that problem about the angle changing towards to bellied tip. But its easily fixed. Just move the belly more towards the center point of the clamp system. But it’ll never be super perfect but like you said. The angle changes ever so slightly that it doesn’t even matter. Those who complain probably don’t know how to use their system all too well. That being said. I’ve seen you use this system and I’ve always been curious about it. Looks pretty user friendly compared to something like a wicked edge which takes a bit more practice just to get the blade clamped as perfectly as possible
Thanks for your review of the new TSPROF Pro, what a great little knife sharpening system that doesn't break the bank. Also your explanation using a fixed roof is a perfect example of how the fixed angle of the sharpening system doesn't change along either either the X or Y axis. In my previous life selling construction lasers I had to explain this to many contractors. I used the analogy of a LP record (vinyl) with the laser represented by the pin hole in the middle. In the TSPROF sharpening system, the pivot for the blade and the pivot for the stone are fixed in the Y axis, while the blade is fixed in the blade clamp perpendicular to the travel of the stone establishing the X axis. Very simple. Totally repeatable. I'd love to have one. Maybe Santa can help me out?

Looks fantastic! How does it do with recurve blade types? I’ve always struggled finding a good sharpening system that can attack all my knives including folders that have a recurve shape.

That's one very nice sharpener and would definitely help me get consistent angles which is my main problem with hand sharpening. Really like your channel and one of these days you're going to finally get me to make my own knife.

Appreciate the videos thank you. I’ve had an Apex pro, similar style, for years but need new stones. I just started making knives and need some Diamond stones for getting them sharper faster. ❤
Now I've a great setup for 1x30 and know that system does take many times longer and both ways work but invest under $100 for 1x30 and belts and in few easy minutes you can razor sharp many more knives. Thanks before my 1x30 you have a good product

My son bought me a cadet last Christmas. Awesome system. Really improved the edges on all the knives I make
I used to have trouble with long Buck hunters with the severe curve on the ends. Now I use 1x30 belts and or paper wheels. Thanks for the video!

Thaks for the great annalogy to explain the edge angle. This sharpener would be an immeasurable upgrade from the lansky I've been using up to now too.

Looks fantastic! How does it do with recurve blade types? I’ve always struggled finding a good sharpening system that can attack all my knives including folders that have a recurve shape.

I’m about to order one of these. I kinda like the bling/raw Kadet Pro and it’s $50 cheaper.! But does it or has yours corroded at all? If not I’m going raw!

That's one very nice sharpener and would definitely help me get consistent angles which is my main problem with hand sharpening. Really like your channel and one of these days you're going to finally get me to make my own knife.

Hey Jeremy…I have been using one of the cheap Chinese knock offs and I have to say they work well. The TSPROF is a definite upgrade and I would be more than happy to have one. 😊 Love your channel and I would be very interested in attending an open house just to meet you and chat about knives and bikes…I’m a big collector of classic steel Italian road bikes…true craftsmanship that you don’t get with carbon fibre. Now I've a great setup for 1x30 and know that system does take many times longer and both ways work but invest under $100 for 1x30 and belts and in few easy minutes you can razor sharp many more knives.
