I live in San Antonio and the best time to come visit the Riverwalk is after Thanksgiving. Not only is the temperature great at that time of year, but the city puts up Christmas lights in all the trees all along the Riverwalk. The lights stay up through the New Year. It's really nice to experience at that time of year.
Glad you had a great time in San Antonio! It is a great city with lots of culture. Unfortunately it is going through some serious improvements and not looking the best but hope y'all come back. Always recommend it when coming to Texas!!
Such a great video. I was born and raised in SA, but have not been back in 26 years. I am currently living in beautiful Idaho. I am happy to see that it is still a nice place. ❤️
Thank you for visiting my city❤ Glad y’all enjoyed The Riverwalks sights, sounds, and delicious foods. The Alamo is a must see. Fun fact, The Emily Morgan Hotel is a converted medical/office building and the gothic style building is topped with gargoyles that represent different ailments that had been treated there. Many believe that’s it’s haunted 👻
Is it just me, but I think Louie's harness is upside down. I think the hasp goes on top between the shoulder blades. At least that is how I put one on my dog.
You guys were there a couple weeks before we were. We ate downtown, went to the Riverwalk and saw The Alamo. I too was surprised how dead downtown was despite it being lunchtime. I enjoyed the Riverwalk. It was very well kept and peaceful.
the little horseshoe part of the riverwalk was built for the world's fair in 1968 and certainly has had lasting impacts on our economy. glad y'all enjoyed downtown. lots more to see right near downtown next time you pass through.
Early birds and meal prep for the win. Definitely love the AirTag idea. Louie taking in all the sites and sounds of the river walk. It was almost like y’all had it all to yourself! Totally would walk that every day if we lived in San Antonio!
Glad you had a fun time . Native San Antonian, y’all have some nice places yourselves. Duluth up the shore to Ely , lots of family and ancestors . Grandfather set up many of the portages in the BWCA, retired out of Superior NF in 1968.,I like visiting there , some sort of strange draw….but not in the winter. Love a good past or smoked fish !
What a good video. Being a born and raised in Texas “ The promised land” I love seeing y’all in places that I’ve visited. Love San Antonio and the Riverwalk! Love you guys.
FUN! We drove our Interstate 19 from Jersey to San Antonio. It was a blast. We spent only one day on the river walk due to time constraints and quickly realized you need more time. We also visited Austin which we liked too. Good memories, thanks for taking me back.
Canyon Lake is a must see when you go out to San Antonio I just want to let you know you guys are probably gone already so it doesn't really make much difference. The Banks Family 👪
It's too bad you couldn't see San Antonio during the holiday season. It is absolutely amazing. BTW, I've stayed at the Emily Morgan and it was fantastic. Love your videos!
Just have to say my wife and I really glad we found your channel ! For the last two days we have binge watched almost all your videos ...we started camping backing in 2017 in a Prius, tent camping in a tent (we are in our 60s) from Florida to Colorado... Boy that ground got hard lol...got back and bought a " Casita " travelled all over the country and had a blast but we wanted more space... Upgraded to a 22 ' rv and are on the road about two to three months a year...we experienced so many of the adventures you had especially when your were in the tent 😂Anyway sorry for the long post ...hope to share a camp someday !
I went to Air Force Basic Training there. I love the River walk. So much to see and do in SA, hope to go back soon. They just opened a Buc-ees off I-95 in St Augustine, FL. Guessing you didn't stop on your way to/from Keys. It's pretty awesome. I'd never been in one until just the other day even though I drive from Jax to St Aug all the time :) Please stop in next time you're in town!
After watching your videos Always feel like I'm there visiting with you all. You guys do great with content and are always informative and share personal info when you don't have to but it makes it more meaningful and Louie just adds to it be safe thanks!
im basically waiting for the weather to get back down to the mid 60s to 70s. its just been too hot for me for the last few months and the fact its nearing the middle of october and its still getting low 90s is really pissing me off.
thx for sharing guys! headed there next year and great to know about the parking. Did you have any problems with the people and business with Louie? We have dogs is why is ask. We may board them for the day and take in the sites. stay safe
Good morning, Chris and Aaron! Thank you for another fun excursion! Bleh….we blasted thru San Antonio at about 10pm, heading down to South Padre for Solar installation. And then we countered that with heading north thru there at about 2am when we left 😢. It looks like a really fun trip; look forward to seeing it some day. Though….It looks like a Buckies stop competes hehehe ( never been to one). I need to do that Mega Iowa truck stop too on one of my Des Moines flights. I have to work today, but we will be taking the rig out to Silver Jack Reservoir for some nights tomorrow. I have a day trip and wife will be busy on the 16th, and then Remy and I will be taking the rig out to the La Sal mountains by Moab to serve as a base camp for hiking out there. Safe travels!
Nice. My favorite restaurant in San Antonio is Paloma Blanca. They are away from downtown but it's upscale Mexican food and they have patio seating. Worth a try.
My First duty station for the Army! Love San Antonio! It is also where the medical soldiers/officers do our training @ Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis! Great star gazing at Fort Bullis!❤
What's up with Louie's halter? Looks like you have it on all wrong. Or maybe I just haven't seen one like it in my 40 years of owning dogs and halters.
Oh my goodness. Just watched your guest appearance on You, Me and the RV. I must have somehow missed your video when you tried to burn down the RV. That must have been so scary. Glad you guys and the rig were okay!!
Yes, fun to meet them! We haven’t even released our filming of it yet… it just happened about a month ago! It could have been bad… but we caught it right away!
Thank you for taking us along on you walk! You should check out Caddo Lake State Park. It is hauntingly beautiful with all the Bald Cypress trees draped in Spanish moss. It’s on the Texas/Louisiana border.
As a basenji, if Louie never learns to jump well you are lucky and better off 😀. It will keep him off of the counters and out of trouble. Our boy never learned that he could jump. He would stay behind the baby gates. One of our girls would jump it when he was aggravating her and our other girl would climb it like a fence. Poor boy would just sit there, left behind.
Oh, thats soo true! Louie never tries to escape, jump, or climb on stuff. We'll consider it lucky! 🥲 I can just picture your boy sitting there waiting for you!
You probably won’t need this for Louie but my dog will hide in the long grass when we are boondocking and ignore the call to come in until she feels like it. A quick play sound on the AirTag turns her into a speeding bullet running straight for mom. Mean but effective. 😂
If you like that unique building in San Antonio, have you seen the Flatiron building in NYC?! Built in 1902, it was one of the first 'skyscrapers' at 22 stories. Thanks for another trip down memory lane...love San Antonio TX! :)
Thanks Jim! What kind of dogs do you have? We got the air tag holder on Amazon. amzn.to/3rIGMSR. Just make sure to check the width of the collar as they have different widths.
The River Walk is great. But that’s about it for San Antonio. The Alamo is cool, but the joke is if the Alamo had a back door, there wouldn’t be a Texas 😂😂😂 I’m guessing the Texans out there won’t find that funny 😆
We ended up selling it this summer to someone on the East Coast. We just didn't use it enough and it went to a good home where it will see some new adventures!
Welcome Sunday and another great Irene video. Be careful parking on the end spots. Always a good idea to avoid backing up whenever possible but the end spots are the one that people crash into. Would love to know Aaron's time in the forty yard dash. Judging by his dash back to get the camera he could be world class. It was so funny!!
The reason The Riverwalk was practically empty is because of the high crime and homeless. Convention organizers warn their participants to be aware of their surroundings. Just last night, 2 people walking along Commerce St were shot by a drive by vehicle. I live just about 5 minutes north of downtown and haven’t been there since before COVID. It’s sad to see my city dying because our leaders believe in “Defund the Police” agenda. 😔
I know it so funny. I had just one week here in Lake Conroe. And got an extra 9 days to the 15. Now I will only have 12 days in Medina Lake. Then on to Benson, AZ for a couple weeks. Heading to Vegas for Xmas and New Years. Then the BASH.
Always interesting and entertaining with you three !! Well put together and just a touch of nice things to look for. Thank you for sharing this amazing video with me. As always BS & BK & BC !!!
Wow , if your going to show san Antonio, make sure you show all the garbage along the city streets and the out in the county, everywhere where you go there is garbage, and the city and county are not worried about it.
Older folks have no idea how big their rig is as their depth perception is way off. Just the other day I was waiting for the traffic to clear so I could take the corner and around the same corner came this older gentleman and took the corner off the vehicle and he proceeded to continue around the corner and took the whole front off that same vehicle. Wiped the whole side of his vehicle so that every panel was ruined. He had to stop as the metals just caught up and crinkled like a sardine can the cars were locked together. This all happened in slow motion as I saw it coming straight at me. I will never park on an end ever since that experience! Good luck in your travels.
San Antonio looks very inviting. I’d love to visit some day. BTW - Chris, it’s ree-yeh-no. 😉☺️ I hope Louis did alright with his emasculating surgery! 🐶😳

The music at the end was an amazing touch.
Thank you! It was a fun time for sure 😊
Such a great video. I was born and raised in SA, but have not been back in 26 years. I am currently living in beautiful Idaho. I am happy to see that it is still a nice place. ❤️
If you get back to SA on a weekend, check out the market at The Pearl and eat at Boudros on the River Walk!
Thank you for visiting my city❤

Louie is such a cutie! It looks like he is adjusting to your way of life very well.😋Thank you for taking us along with you! Have fun and be safe!
Thank you! 😊 Louie is doing so well and is loving the adventure on the road!
Is it just me, but I think Louie's harness is upside down. I think the hasp goes on top between the shoulder blades. At least that is how I put one on my dog.
It’s a front style harness that deters the dog from pulling. 😊
You guys were there a couple weeks before we were. We ate downtown, went to the Riverwalk and saw The Alamo. I too was surprised how dead downtown was despite it being lunchtime. I enjoyed the Riverwalk. It was very well kept and peaceful.

Not sure where you are in your ventures through TX, but hope you get a chance to check out Fredericksburg.
Choosing the right bag is very important. Make sure you take your water, umbrella, and a jacket with you. And your keys.
San Antonio born and raised! I love seeing other people enjoy the beautiful city I live in!
I’ve loved her since 96 and we really only go to The Riverwalk a couple times a year…😊
Early birds and meal prep for the win. Definitely love the AirTag idea. Louie taking in all the sites and sounds of the river walk. It was almost like y’all had it all to yourself! Totally would walk that every day if we lived in San Antonio!
Yes! 🙌 Hey guys! One of our favorites city walks in the country for sure. Look forward to maybe taking a stroll with y’all somewhere else special. ❤️
@@IreneIronTravels that would be wonderful! ❤️🙏
Yes definitely a must see city. The street junkies and the rubbish thrown all around the streets and the highways are awesome.

If your still in the area, make sure you head to the Japanese Gardens. Also take a drive for pie out to Marble falls!!!

San Antonio is a city where its easy to get nostalgic. Even if it's your first time there
Canyon Lake is a must see when you go out to San Antonio I just want to let you know you guys are probably gone already so it doesn't really make much difference. The Banks Family 👪
You need to really go back in December when all the Christmas lights are on. They hang from every tree on the river walk.
Y’all visited on a perfect day. I can’t stand it on weekends. It gets so crowded you feel like you’re going to get pushed into the water.
It's too bad you couldn't see San Antonio during the holiday season. It is absolutely amazing. BTW, I've stayed at the Emily Morgan and it was fantastic. Love your videos!

Well thank you for watching!! Sounds like you've had some fun adventures as well! Gotta love all the different styles to camp and explore out there.😊
I thought that when you said that Louie was gonna become the opposite of a man, he was getting married.
🤣
I went to Air Force Basic Training there. I love the River walk. So much to see and do in SA, hope to go back soon.

Oh, thats awesome Karen! We always see so many uniformed servicemen and women there!
So now I’m here in San Antonio and rewatching your video!!! That says something.
😊😊😊
Hope you enjoyed it Celest!
I haven’t been to the San Antonio Riverwalk since about 1972 would love to go back.
What's up with Louie's halter? Looks like you have it on all wrong. Or maybe I just haven't seen one like it in my 40 years of owning dogs and halters.
Beautiful place, and your food looked amazing!!!
Aaron’s shirt should say, “I went to Buckie’s and Peed.” 🤪🤪🤪
Another super video, you two make my day. Oh… cool to know where Leo got his name. Travel safe already looking forward to your video.
😊 thank you! Louie was named after Chris's grampa! 😊
I use to run that parking lot where yall parked use to be 15 dollars 24 hrs get they raised rhe prices
The walk looked so peaceful!!! It appears that Chris was disappointed when she opened the red container. Was she saying, "They're not hot"?
Close! She was expecting corn tortillas instead of flour! 😊
