In this episode, we roll out of our free beach camping spot at Magnolia Beach, TX, and head down to Padre National Seashore.
Paul went out for a quick kiteboard session and after a visit from a park ranger, we found out that you are not allowed to kitesurf at Padre National Seashore. Oooops!
After a few days at Padre National Seashore, we headed to the San Antonio area and visited the world-famous San Antonio Riverwalk. We really enjoy walking in historic downtown San Antonio.

Hi Paul, BTW there are almost 2.5 million white tail deer in just 4 counties in the Hill Country of Texas. I can them big dogs. LOL I use to for years, get 2 each year, for the meat. Those locks are every where, London Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge just to name two. There was a time that all shopping waws outside, then we had indoor malls, which is what everyone wanted. Now we want them outside again. People are so fickle. LOL Don
I don't know if I ever tried deer meat, even when I ate meat. Maybe when I was a kid. People are...yeah, let's go with fickle, Don! Lol

So glad you are back to your travels. Wonder why you couldn't kite on the beach...at least the winds weren't cooperating. That Medina Lake segment was crazy!
Apparently, it's because kiting can be dangerous to beachgoers, if something goes wrong. And the only time things go really wrong is on the beach. Medina Lake was mind-blowing!!
OMG! We left Lake Medina in May 2020 after being held up for 6 weeks there because of the beginning of Covid. I can’t believe what has happened to the lake in less than 3 years! The beauty of the lake was actually a saving grace during that time. It’s shocking!
Shocking is a good word for it!
Last time we were in San Antonio we were really enjoying our stay. We didn't do the river walk because Our Prime minister, Justin Trudeau said if you are Canadian you should come home. So...we did and just after we crossed back at Windsor, they closed the borders! Miss it!

Medina Lake has been like this before...sad...we need a few hurricanes to fill it up again...ugh! You drove past our house near Luckenbach last time you were here.
It was crazy! We did read that it had done this before. We really liked our stop in Luckenbach Mike.

I am so sick of winter! I would love to do some beach camping right now. Watching you roll through Rockport brought back such wonderful memories. We stayed there in March of 2018 and then went back in October and stayed till April of 2019.
