Just saw sturgill and the boys in Rodgers Arkansas. I have never witnessed such an energy packed concert. They didn't stop playing for 3 hours, absolutely amazing.
Sturgill don't ever give up on singing man your really good and make amazing music . Your one of the most underrated best singers and writer I've seen . Piss me off they won't play you on the radio

We never had a disagreement, he moved away because he was doing 3rd shift janitor work and was offered a great job in another state, I love telling people about this. We are musical soulmates or something. I felt like after we first met, we became best friends for a couple years and looked for a singer the entire time almost. I didn’t think I was good enough and I think we both were looking Kurt cobain or prince. It’s funny because he not country at all to me.we were like a funk blues portishead Jimi Hendrix funkadelic soul comedy Jamband and bluegrass classic country punk rock. We loved Hank sr and we both thought Hank 3 was so amazing that I think 3 inspired us to go that route. Everyday we just jammed and got better and it was fun. We felt hopeless sometimes. He finally got fed up with no singer for us and said he would try, before this we sang only joke songs never serious, he back the next day and I closed my and sang this song he wrote called mother crying , I thought it was the ghost Waylon when he sang, I was like hell yeah, we went and performed that night, to watch each little badass thing he’s done has me the proudest of anyone I know besides the people that put up with me.he story is so amazing,it’s the inspirational story for anyone wanting to follow their dreams and do what they want with their life. He’s humble af, he would live in a tent and be content, he was cooler than anyone before he was sturgill. His can smile knowing he is the nicest coolest guy. Who isn’t fake and never would have thought he would be this successful, I think. I hope one day we can reunite for our unfinished business of rocking together. One last thing I think is funny.we lost contact and my friends had taken me to this bar in Lexington to watch this band,it was packed the band was killing it, the whole,I kept thinking damn that looks like John, after the show while he’s trying to get through this big crowd I said hey is your name John Simpson, I wasn’t sure and I was kind of scared to ask , but he was like holy shit Jason and we hung and he told me about how he been. It’s crazy too me that his music is so good and I’m so impressed with his writing,

I was on Ticketmaster when the tickets went on sale for Asheville. They sold out in mere minutes before I had a chance to purchase some. Really bummed that I won’t be able to see the show this time around.
