A true rock legend and a badass playing live. This is what live music is supposed to be without all the bullshit and ego you see in a lot of bands and concerts. Sturgill Simpson embodies what going to a live show is all about! True rock will never die while you have an artist like Sturgill. His drummer is going from minute one to the end. Went to Pittsburgh to see him for the first time, was in a trance for 3 hours and felt like I was only there for 15 minutes. Greatest musician of my generation
All of his shows for the why not tour are this good. Hes amazing and so are the guys with him. Like a machine and so many tour dates. Saw them at the gorge and it was the best show I've seen in a really really long time. Three hours of just kicking ass. I highly recommend folks go if you can. Smaller venues planned in the UK if you want to see a more intimate set.
@Sturgill Simpson this is top notch music brother. You and the band absolutely killed this show. Please come to Pittsburgh in the near future and me and the woman will be front row.

This @8:45 is absolutely spectacular! More of this, please and thank you! Dancing in my living room & so happy that you shared this show.
It got me a little too excited
My favorite lineup, right here!
Solid rhythm section, Miles adding some nice harmonies, and Laur absolutely crushes it! Thanks for bringing it back, Sturgill!
Who are these ace players? They are absolutely killing it!
who's the killer on lead guitar?
@@dimitrizgonis3767Laur Joamets
I loved it when he had the horn section. But this definitely a top notch group!
@@JeffCorceliusr player is an original member. He left for a few albums. Glad to see him back
That's gotta' be one of the best sounding live recordings I've ever heard. The stellar performance and mastery of the stage by Simpson and band takes it the rest of the way through the stratosphere. Bravo!
And the video is just great too!
This is so unbelievably good.
Laur Joamets was missed in this band!!! Miles drums are one of the best thing in music nowadays. And of course, the king, Sturgill is back.
Best guitar player he ever had
I was so glad to see this. Look up sturgill Simpson Bristol and that really shows off his chops. So tasteful
What I needed when I needed it.
Thanks for posting this for us all!
LOVE Sturgill!!
How I wish happiness left scares too.- hot damn, right in the feels
Loved the little homage to the Grateful Dead solo in the middle of Brace for Impact.
indeed, Chinacat Sunflower for Jerry birthday
that was a crunchy china cat
Same!!! Very cool! I feel like there’s some overcast of some Pink Floyd floating around as well! They are so damn good!!!
Laur is a killer! Glad we have some good music back.
Love everything, but THANK YOU for playing some Sound and Fury!!
So we gonna play China Cat in the solo then later play Whiter Shade of Pale all the way through? Stugill is the best. He's like those of us from the south that grew up listening to everything. Allman Bros, Grateful Dead, Black Crowes...all of it.
SO good!! "I Don't Mind" kills...wish there were a couple of more songs from new album, but love the fact he's back out there touring again with this band!
Hell yes!! Thanks Sturgill, can't wait to sit back tonight and enjoy the show!! 🤙
Hell ya! nice YT handle!
@Momentum88 thanks, combo of 2 of my favs.
Just saw him at the NC Hurricane Helene benefit show tonight in Cary. Best show I’ve ever been to. Definition of aura with this band. No phones out filming. Just people loving the music.
Incredible.... Love the rock style vibe... Also love hearing some Sound & Fury songs in the set as well. One of my favorite albums from you. 🤌🔥
You should make a live album of this set, just saying... 🤷♂️🔥🔥🔥🔥
100%
Sound and fury is genuinely one of my favorite albums
So true. In my humble opinion I think it is his best. This new album is creepin' up fast though!
Ah man his early Buddhist psychedelic country music might take the cake for me
Sooo good to see the four of you together on stage again + the keys. I’ve seriously been sobbing and gasping throughout the whole thing. Only thing missing is “Sometimes wine” played the ol’ Sunday Valley way.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I've watched HSB 18 close to a dozen times and it's one of the best shows I've seen online, but this lineup and performance tops it. I was glad to see those boys back in the band but was worried I'd miss buddy on the keys, but this man brought a gd saxophone ffs. I love that damn drummer and nothing makes me happier to know yall got Sturgill's back while yall out there blowing peoples minds every night. Thank you for sharing this!
This is an awesome show. The band sounds great! Great job Sound Engineer and everyone that was involved in this production. Much Love from New Orleans Everyone 💜💚💛
There will be nights that go on forever…like our wishes for this set!!!
Cant get enough of listening to Sturgill's set.. Pure F'ing gold.. Cant wait to see them in Nov in DC!
You could stumble on this video 2,500 years from now and you’d still think it’s pretty damn good
The dexterity and stamina of this drummer is insane!
What a fucking beast of a band. Absolute monsters. Sturgill is the man.
Yeah, you can't fake that shit!
Long live Sturgill Simpson! Long live Johnny Blue Skies!
this setlist is epic !!
Little Joe is back! It’s great to see him playing with Sturgill again. What a lethal combination.
is he the lead geetarist? total lowkey tonemaster
@@sloburnjoyes and he has been playing with my favorite band Drivin' n' Cryin' after he left Sturgill.
Thank you for posting this. Please never take it down ♥️🙏🏼
I Don't Mind destroys me every single time. Love the new album. Buying tickets now to see him in Detroit.
Peak Performance! The one! The only! Sturgill Simpson! See you next time around in Germany!♥️
Some serious Thin Lizzy tone at 50:14 Unreal to see Laur back in the band!
He's been rocking with Drivin' n' Cryin' all these years after he left Sturgill. They rock hard and allowed him to stretch out...And we can hear the results are fantastic!
No auto tune that's a sign of a great artist
A shot of adrenaline beginning to end. This is just on another level
If they did not release a live album from this tour, I would consider it a crime against humanity.
Went to Pittsburgh to see him for the first time, was in a trance for 3 hours and felt like I was only there for 15 minutes. Greatest musician of my generation
I adore this man. One of the best musicians alive, and his band is phenomenal.
Loving all of this, and then breaking into "Whiter Shade of Pale". Great show!!
A badassed artist, one of the best in recent decades.
That being said, not everyone would be welcome in my home. 👊🏻
Incredible concert video! Thank you greatly for sharing!
Incredible performance. Band sounds soooo good!
@Sturgill Simpson this is top notch music brother. You and the band absolutely killed this show. Please come to Pittsburgh in the near future and me and the woman will be front row.
"A whiter shade of pale", exquisite. Memories of the 60's.
I am thankful for this video. I'm boogieing my ass around the house, getting my shit done. 😂
