You are lucky sir...none of the dealers in South Texas let us take out demo models for test ride. One reason i have to watch so many videos like yours to learn about the bikes
As modern styled bikes go , this one doesn’t look too bad , a proper round headlight is always good to see . I can’t say I am all that familiar with the brand , although I have heard of their existence , over the years never seeing one in the flesh . The company seems to be fairly diverse in its products. Up to now it’s the best naked modern styled motorcycle I have seen , although the Euro compliant extended rear protrusion plus reg plate & associated gubbins , leaves a lot to be desired . It certainly appears to have plenty of stonk for those that require it & the agility plus handling to match . My only reservations would be , the lack of local dealers & the parts back up situation in the long term ,being as good as more common popular brands . Good initial review 👍
Morning Dave bit different style of bike just one thing that worries me is the Chinese have got there grubby mitts on that engine I’m very hesitant to even think of one but some no doubt will have to see two years down the road but I’d buy RE before that but husqvarna have been top in mx as are Ktm we all know have to wait and see how these pan out take care ride safe
Hey Bing... consistently an entertaining space listening to and watching your reviews in this woke world of ours...to the point where I just "Thumbs Up" every time before even getting engrossed...
Just bought a 2024 Svartpilen 125 for £3999 (base price) from Appleyard Motorcycles for my first bike today. Will be arriving in a couple of days on Sunday. It is definitely on the premium end and arguably more than you really should pay for a 125, given I may pass my full licence later this summer, but it is such a nice looking and well specd bike for the price. It has a quickshifter, on a 125! Not something I was looking for but I'll take it. It's like they just took the 401 and put a smaller engine in it (they basically did, although the suspension also isn't as good), so you get all of the tech and style of the bigger bikes in a more sedate form. Like it also gets the same 13 litre fuel tank as the bigger bikes, which gives it in theory an over 300 mile range. While it is basically a less exciting version of the 401, it would be interesting to see a review (too late for me since I bought it lol) to see your thoughts on it, if Appleyard have another in stock ;).
I think that it's great that you bought that bike, Bordpie - it demonstrates some wisdom. If you ride the snot out of it for a year (which will be excellent fun!), you'll be ready to approach a larger bike with great confidence and ability. I wish more new riders were as bright as you!
@@GeorgeConaway-w2b Yes it's a nice looking bike. Shame about the L-Plates I have to put on it lol. All the rider assistance features are helping me getting started. I'm keeping it in rain mode for now to reduce smooth out the throttle response. The auto cancelling indicators have covered my backside many times, although now I am getting used to cancelling manually. My commute is partly country road and partly outer city traffic, so the 125 is fine for that, although there are some steep hills where it slows down a bit. After the first 600 mile service and when it gets broken it it should do better.
I rode motocross back in the 70s when Husqvarna were king, KTM came along later and took the crown 👑 Maico was another great German motocross company . These bikes are FAST and furious 😠 and assembled in China or India like everything these days . These new modern high spec bikes need regular maintenance and servicing imo. I'd be changing oil every 3k if l owned a CF MOTO, Husqvarna or KTM, I'd also consider doing some weight training 😅 or keeping fit in order to hold on to them 😮 Don't like the looks of modern plastic Jetski style bikes, and this bike is ugly, sorry but true. Bikes today have little or no character and longevity has yet to be seen. Great video Dave.
@@thebingleywheelerwow..that's a big price difference I'd ask them to throw in a 357 rancher chainsaw..and a weed wacker for that much of a difference in price !
Nice review. Thanks. Style is subjective of course but I think these things and the Vitpilen are two of the most interesting and pleasing looking bikes available. Futuristic.
Not my style of bike, Dave, being an old-school classic man myself, but nonetheless it looks an interesting machine. The Husqvarna website here in Oz carefully avoids mentioning a price, however.
I am from Texas, I have to ask, are you from Yorkshire or live in Yorkshire? My Grandparents are from Yorkshire and you kind of sound like them. Also, I just found your channel and I subscribed.
@@jamiehalifax4954 We've certainly got about a bit! 😃 It's rumoured that a couple of the great-grandfathers owned quick Penny-fathings... In the UK, most are in Kent and Cornwall; there's a branch in South Wales, too. Hadn't heard of a Geordie branch though; maybe they wanted to keep quiet about it! 🤣

Great choice there Pal it’s important to have something individual and stylish as your first bike and they must be the best equipped 125s out there 👍🏻

Hi Dave, another good review on the husky however I’m not so sure on your “bawdy” ktm jacket 😝😂 carry on that man Caio for now tat ta 👍🏻
I think you loved that bike need to take it out after it's first service. Give it a proper ride.

Great video Dave.
Hi Dave, What is the price difference between the Husky and the CF Moto with the same engine (detuned, I understand)? Thank you for the video!
Hi George the CF Moto 800 NK is £6999 for the sport and £7499 for the Advanced (+OTR) the Husky is £10500!

I love the design, and I tend to lean toward round shapes. The tank is arrow head like.
Makes little Norman look good 😂
It's a ktm for people that don't like angary orange insects

Good video Dave but on a bike which just isn't my cup of tea at all.
Duke 790 with extra horsepower and husqvarna plastic 🎉
Clearly a well spec'd bike but price is going to be the issue. Like the look of your 800MT.
Oh no Dave another noodle burner engine😂🤣.
