Yah! My elementary school was like all the school having assemblies for kindness and stuff and said that we should all be friends and the teachers actually cared 4 bullying and barely noticed 'the having ur hood up at school is banned' rule. Also the air always smells like cowpoop in the summer and there's a lot of farms there. Also the town I live in is really nice, like this one time an old lady fell out of the car of her car and was struggling to get up and I pointed it out and my dad was like "we're going to help her forget school we need to help." and so my dad helped her and a bunch of people saw and helped her like they were like "we were doing something…oh well the lady's more important we need to help" and soon a whole crowd was helping her and someone called the ambulance and she is fine I think. But like that day was super wholesome. (I live in CT) this was way too long

i have lived in ct my whole life. i dream of leaving. soon. its sad, because it is actually a naturally beautiful state. but the state has been destroyed by bad political policy over the last 30 years. we used to have many great companies here, Pfizer, GE, most of the firearms industries were founded here, we have Pratt and Whitney, we used to have Hamilton Standard, Stanley Tools used to manufacture in New Britain , Goodyear Tire was founded in Naugatuck, ct. etc. The question is why have all these world class innovative industries left ct? i know times change but geez ! You can say the same about a lot of New England, as far as world class innovative industries going bust and folding up, Detroit (not in new england) is the same .WHY? its policy, regulation, etc. Ct. had the world's largest thread manufacturer , AMERICAN THREAD CO. in Willimantic, ct. gone. Great Northern Paper Co. , worlds largest was in Millinocket, Maine, gone. Why? thread and paper are still made, in fact they are billion dollar industries world wide, but now they are made in Pakistan, Malaysia, indonesia, etc...

Lived here most of my life. Imagine having to live in your grandmothers house with a midnight curfew and your room is right next to hers. Then having to pay half the mortgage and the car note. I’m a CT native, lived there for +30 years, I’ve lived in a number of other places and live in San Jose CA currently. I love CT, but can also corroborate a good portion of this list, all except the boring part. Being bored is a personally intrinsic deficiency, it has nothing to do with where you live or activity availability. You could have the fckng olympics in you’re back yard and be bored (and boring). I accrued a ton of cool hobbies and was a part of a number of communities with rad folks in CT, so I call BS on that one.
Here are the top three reasons for not to move to CT: Tax, Increased tax, and more taxes. This is a greedy state.

The people are different, a trip to Walmart is like a highschool reunion everyone knows eachother and everyone is in every one else's business. once a year car taxes here...depends on the town or city...you can cut your car taxes...by buying a older creampuff...and learn how to do your own repairs/maintenance...my car taxes for THREE vehicles is $120.00 a year..if you do it right...you can also apply to protest your car taxes...and get them lowered...

Oh God! Do you know how bad it gets with Waterbury? You get one train every 3 hours (you have to switch trains if you’re going beyond Bridgeport), it takes 10 years to get to Danbury unless you can drive, and even going to Bristol you’re better off taking a bike. Hell, there used to not be a transit link to Hartford!

I love living in Connecticut and working in Hartford. Despite the ineffective government and high taxes, there's plenty to do here and the quality of life is amazing. The reason I work is so I can enjoy the the abundant mountain biking, hiking, boating, lakes, and the shore. And yes we have real oceanfront and beautiful beaches. The variety of food in non-chain establishments is extensive and you can't find better seafood anywhere else in the world. There's also tremendous culture and history throughout the state. When family and friends visit they are always impressed with the region and they can't wait to return. New England weather is burley, but the constant changing of seasons presents new opportunities and the contrast can be spectacular! And if your're not satisfied with what we have in our own backyard, it's a short drive to NYC, Boston, Vermont, or New Hampshire.
After living in Connecticut it's absolutely awful. The weather, a Phoenix summer in the summer, a Minneapolis winter in the winter; the cost of living and taxes are absolutely awful; no good cities to live in; karens are your neighbors, kids are disrespectful, adults are snobby, Meet the Joneses in full affect; lack of good jobs; oh and to top it all off the government is corrupt. Best day of my life is when I moved to San Diego 3 years ago :)

I live in Los Angeles now but was born and raised in Connecticut and I miss it every day. The weather is beautiful, even our vicious winter snowstorms. I love the shoreline, the lakes, the malls, the farmers markets and the little coffee shops and bars, and of course I miss my family.

I lived in CT all my life. I like the guy who did this video despite the video being somewhat misleading. Most everything he states is correct. There is very little to do in CT with exception of a few Aquariums, Crappy beaches and the casinos where you can lose your money if you have any left from the Democrats regime. Yes, the Democrats... They have taxed this state to a point in which is beyond disturbing. The morons of this state continue to elect these worthless politicians over and over again. The two acting Senators only wake from their slumber when there's a shooting; it is then they wipe the sleep from their eyes and demand more gun control. Bridgeport has MANY elected officials who have been convicted of felonies including voter fraud, embezzlement and 'pay to play' corruption. What does the idiots of the city of Bridgeport do? Yes, elect them back in to office after their federal incarceration. Many of these cities have a large welfare entitlement program(s) and after owning several rental properties for over 20-years, I had to sell them all. The typical Section - 8 scum have no respect for your property and you always lose (in the town of Stratford anyway). Taxes, welfare, nothing to do and moronic voters/politicians.... My family was born in Connecticut we have been here for years but now we are planning on moving to Tennessee for a better life
My perspective of Connecticut (Middletown specifically, right in the middle of the state):
Pros:
- Pretty weather for 2/3 of the year, especially fall
- Good restaurants
- Great hiking
- Pretty scenery
- Not far from Boston and New York
- Great rural/organic products because of so many farms
- If there is something exciting going on in Connecticut, it is small so it can't be far away
Cons:

Lived here all my life, CT is no different than any other state. We have good, we have bad, we have pretty, we have eye sores. We have a bunch of different kinds of people and cultures. Just like in every state, it just depends where you go.

Why is everyone so dumb? because you didn't go to school in CT? I live in New Britain there isn't anything wrong with it. It's certainly not up there with the bad cities you mentioned. You should feel grateful to be around more intelligent people overall. You move anywhere but the NE and the west coast people are dumb as rocks.
Meriden isn’t so bad. Yet. The taxes are definitely ridiculous and makes it hard to do anything. No one even wants to own anything anymore, people would rather rent or lease.

Moved out of that dump two years ago I am so glad I did. They want to put toll booths everywhere! They were thinking about starting a mileage tax! They would tax you on how many miles you drive per year!!! We all ready paid gas tax, state income tax and car tax. Place is a money pit. I’ll never go back!!

I live in CT and work in NY. There are literally no jobs, it's a joke. Other than that, the shoreline is one of the most beautiful, quiet, safe, quaint places. Also, our school systems along the shoreline are very good.
Jobs "literally" do exist in CT, I can assure you of that, as I have one. Schools are good throughout CT. It's also safe in throughout CT.

Connecticut is very anti-self defense to. Recently a CT man working at Dunkin Donuts was assaulted by 3 guys; the worker stabbed one of the attackers in the leg, and was sentenced to jail for 18 months....Maybe the UK should claim CT, because it's very draconian concerning self defense there also.

I live in Fairfield county ct and everyone around here is so pretentious and rude. I walk my dog and say hello to people and they just roll their eyes or ignore you. Most people keep to themselves and everything is super expensive here. Thinking of moving to Colorado next year! I’m so excited :)

First time in Connecticut I stopped by a bar while waiting on a ferry for Block Island, the bartender was a really run down lady in her 40's or 50's, nasty looking, no bra on, probably missing some teeth. I asked for a Yuengling Lager, her response was "Whats that?" "We don't serve no college beer here." in a real snappy voice, needless to say, I've had no desire to return to Connecticut since.
Everytime he defended himself like, "Don't come after me".. as someone born and raised and currently living in this garbage state, no one wants to be here unless its your vacation home. No ones coming for you. You're 100% right.

You’re right about someone chasing CT residents out. That would be the Democrats and governor Dannel Malloy. He’s the worst governor in CT history taxing is to death. Gave us the two biggest tax increases in state history the last 7 years for example. Spends our money for studies to get more money from us, (ie he wants to put up tolls all over the state and milage tax). That’s why we call this the tax you to death state now.
If the state puts back tolls on I-95, Route 1 will become a gridlock nightmare..

Thanks for making this video. My best friend of 22 years was born in CT but that was a very long time ago. I'm returning to lay her to rest next to her parents as she requested. I was considering a possible move because things appeared to be more country and less expensive. Wow was I wrong. I even asked her cousin if a contractor like myself could stay busy? He said his son a cabinet maker has a year waiting list!! That is great for him but it sounds like I could get broke quick!! My friend was born in one of the best areas and that was 1943 she left in the 70s and had only returned to bury her mother in 2002. Sometimes our childhood memories can cloud our judgement. Thanks again for making the video probably saved me from a huge mistake😉

CT is just straight grubby, especially New Haven, it's sad. New Haven educates the top students in the world at Yale, yet the city is like a 3rd world country. Garbage on the street and a lot of homeless. Very sad. You neglected to talk about Hartford's history as the insurance capital of the U.S. All the big insurers started here, huge wealth and lots of jobs. Now the city is a dump and a lot of companies have moved their headquarters elsewhere.

The two art museums on campus are worth a visit though, both designed by architect Louis Kahn. British Museum of Art and Yale Gallery, check em out.

Honestly, CT is the most boring state, I'm moving out as soon as I can, my english teacher came here (she grew up in RI) and she told us that we legit have no accent whatsoever, or culture either, we're just a sucky state plus no one knows we exist unless they have family here XD, so I completely agree with this
