Joe, you 1000% NAILED the description of CT!! I’ve unfortunately lived here my whole life and I’m one of the ones who plans on getting the hell out of here someday! It takes a while to get out because your basically taxed for blinking and breathing and sitting in traffic - any way they can get you, they will!! There is zero opportunity, too many taxes, and traffic for days. All the good restaurants got put out of business by the garbage chain restaurants that now occupy the state. It is a useless state with terrible jobs that screws its residents in taxes!!
I live in CT and it's awesome! BUT... it depends on where you live. I live near NYC in Fairfield County. Such a great place to live. Fantastic restaurants, events, parks, music venues, beaches, museums, etc. But that's just Fairfield County. Visited Hartford once and that 1 time was enough! Lots of CT is just woods and farmland and small towns. Reminds me of the Midwest when I lived there.
A whole lot of negativity on these comments. Connecticut is quite safe, clean, nice, friendly, high quality food and with loads of good people and the schools have caring teachers. All the people talking trash in the comment section either a) be grateful or b) do something to improve the facilities of Connecticut or c) move out. Open your perspective and visit other countries around the world and you'll see what a nice place you live in overall.
I'm from Danbury and spent 48 years of my life there. I grew up on Candlewood Lake and enjoyed what I thought were the riches of Fairfield County. When I travelled out of state, I was told how lucky I was to enjoy the beautiful scenery; they obviously never spent a miserable winter shoveling or feeling frazzled with a bored child home for several days for school cancelations. **NOTE TO THOSE IN CHARGE OF SCHOOL CANCELLATIONS** Connecticut is New England. 3" of snow doesn't constitute a snow day. For every day school is cancelled, days are eliminated from holidays which pisses parents off who've booked Disney vacations at Spring Break. Or, they go to school until the end of June (me) and have fans in classrooms (me) and it's 100 degrees. Didn't your grandmother tell you she walked to school in 5' of snow? We have massive plow trucks and sand with salt. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to move to Texas 3 yrs ago where the weather is hot in the summer, but beautiful the rest of the year. I no longer suffer from Seasonal Light Disorder. Jobs are plentiful and with so many Northern companies moving in, salaries are comparable. I see plenty of Northeastern license plates and folks who tell me they will never return. My neighbor is from Brookfield and I never lacked for Stew Leonard's when he received care packages from home 😉 Sure, property taxes are ridiculous and yes, they have potholes, but it evens out with everything else I suffered at the hands of Mr. Lamont et al. My rent went down $1,500 and I can buy five bags of groceries for under $60. People are friendlier and actually let me in when I need to change lanes. When I do need to return to Connecticut - which is rare, I realize why I left. It saddens me that the only place I ever called home has deteriorated due to bad politics and greedy politicians. I recently met a young couple arguing. I overheard them discussing their upcoming relocation and why it was a better opportunity. My ears went up when I heard "East Haven" and interrupted by saying I was from Connecticut. Both native Texans, they were "anxious to get closer to New York" where he worked on Wall Street. It was a toss-up between E. Haven or New Canaan. What a decision! I didn't comment, but knew they'd be returning soon. I suggested Pepe's and the Ferry to Port Jefferson. I wished them well as I laughed my ass off. Taking a short Autumn trip to leaf- peep is fun, but living in Connecticut is a different story. And don't retire there. Please. @joerogan
I have lived in eastern Connecticut (since 1979. Admittedly most of the cities (Bridgeport, Waterbury, Hartford, etc.) are awful BUT the more rural areas, in particular heading north along the Housatonic river are beautiful. The area is very photogenic and is steeped in history. You will find many small, historic towns and you will also find an abundance of hiking trails, fishing, mountain biking, hunting and skiing. You are also within less than (traffic permitting) a two hour drive to New York City thus providing you with the best of both worlds. Yes…taxes and the cost of living are high and that is a drag on the state but it is otherwise a beautiful place to live.
Lived in CT for 39 years. Respectfully, you sound like me in year 36 before I realized the Earth orbited around the sun, and not CT. The whole state is awful. A pathetic state with residents filled with anxiety and coldness (figuratively and literally speaking). I could never be convinced to go back there, ever.
Agreed. Thank you rstone for a) seeing the beauty in this state and b) having the balls to disagree unlike rogan's fanboys. There's so much beauty in NE and NW CT its amazing
Been saying the same things since I left CT the very first time. This place is exactly as described. A Highway full of despair. Thanks for making me feel better about my opinions, Joe.

I LOVE CONNECTICUT ❤️ ❤ EVERY STATE HAS A GOOD AND BAD SIDE. just saying (he probably had a bad experience here with ppl or etc lol I can understand) I still respect Joe though it's just his opinion :D
I'm two years late but yes I moved to VA the southwest part with the mountains and not only is it beautiful like a painting but these people down here are so freaking nice i'n my area hold doors open the whole nine yards, it freaked me out at first being from CT because people are so moody up there that I had to teach myself to take that wall down I've had to walk around with for 25 years. Now I'm 30 and I love Virginia and the people.. CT is B.S i can say that as a native CT.. There are plently of good people there of course but the average native CT citizen has a stank attitude for no reason and they don't even realize it either until you come to a place like VA and people actually smile.. I didn't realize what a D head I was until I left CT because I fit right in at the time 🤣🤣
Connecticut may not have award winning cities, but it has some of the nicest small towns in the country, and Long Siland Sound shoreline is absolutely beautiful.

I live in Connecticut, have my whole life (unfortunately), and I loved this god damn video! Guess that says something right there.
You're a bum
As a lifetime resident I have to agree w/Joe. Unfortunately.
Vino Poorly executed urban infrastructures, excessive taxes, highest rates of socioeconomic inequality, high sin taxes and fees, and high cost of living.
The last sentence spoken in this video is something a lot of people need to hear, take in, contemplate, and then act accordingly.
As much as I grew up in Hartford I felt like it was a prison and there was no hope but at the end of day it's still your home no matter what weather you like it or not
As someone who has lived in Connecticut for 10 years, I can confirm that it is indeed despair-central
Why stay
Well living in Connecticut my entire life I can say Joe is 100 percent right
I love my city. Can't imagine living in a shitty place.
New Haven, CT has the best pizza in the world. That's something to love!

Moved to CT from NYC 4 years ago, and I love it!!

I went to the Mohegan sun in CT, I came out feeling the same way Joe feels about them lol
i've lived in CT my whole life and he is speaking 100% facts the whole vid😂😂😂😂
“Connecticut is like the little kid with a limp”
Summed that shit up pretty good
Lived in CT most of my life, Joe you couldn't be more right 💯
Who doesn’t?
Criss Brewsahrd Me I live there
Austin Madore nope
Now, however this was done, Searched through every transcript of every show, do that more often. Im sure there is material for legendary compilations like this!
I grew up in Orange, CT, between Rt 15 and I 95. Can't deny the highway joke. Left in 91, never missed it for a day.
I have family in CT. Joe's not wrong about it being a pit of despair
The best video you ever made. Ever.

@anonymous i lived across from micalizzi from 85-97. Used to help clean up their fireworks show back when they used their parking lot.
Fuck the 203 😂 8 6ixty shit
Joe, you 1000% NAILED the description of CT!! I’ve unfortunately lived here my whole life and I’m one of the ones who plans on getting the hell out of here someday! It takes a while to get out because your basically taxed for blinking and breathing and sitting in traffic - any way they can get you, they will!! There is zero opportunity, too many taxes, and traffic for days. All the good restaurants got put out of business by the garbage chain restaurants that now occupy the state. It is a useless state with terrible jobs that screws its residents in taxes!!
SO accurate. I grew up in Hartford. Left 27 years ago. Everything described in this video is so spot on.
as someone who lives in connecticut, it’s really fun. i usually walk in the woods, or go to random grocery stores for fun.
Milford, CT representing and I personally do not feel despair-only a constant stream of road rage/disgust.
I’m from Connecticut 💪🏼
So am I an it’s a Shit hole moved to flordia best decision ever!
@@kendallbarry5083lucky you, I’m still here
I have lived in Connecticut for 22 years and got my bachelors at the university of Hartford and I couldn't agree with Joe more.
“Cancel all Connecticut gigs”😂😂
Dude... Bro.... Your smashing on CT.... Well some of your observations are spot on.... Keep posting. Keep training.
Grew up in CT totally agree with the depressing part😂
Dude I live in CT and I can confirm that everything he says is true
I've watched this 10 times now. This is brutally funny.
It's funny and true
A whole lot of negativity on these comments. Connecticut is quite safe, clean, nice, friendly, high quality food and with loads of good people and the schools have caring teachers. All the people talking trash in the comment section either a) be grateful or b) do something to improve the facilities of Connecticut or c) move out. Open your perspective and visit other countries around the world and you'll see what a nice place you live in overall.
Lived here my whole life and those are all lies
Please.
@joerogan
As someone from Miami who moved to Connecticut I actually love it. I hate the heat so maybe I’d be good anywhere in New England
I literally hate this state. It is extremely depressing. There's nothing to do.
I live in Connecticut it’s not great
Lived there for 25 years oys a shithole bro 4 sure
Depends where. Hartford, Bridgeport, New Haven all trash. Enfield is okay.
@@Oncopoda Enfield is shitty too
@@Beaubacon fuck you bro. 😂
Why? What’s the type of people that live in Connecticut
I’m from a highway and I find this Connecticut
Where do you move to
There's literally only 1 way Connecticut can not be so shitty - that is to bring back the Whalers #MakeConnecticutGreatAgain
He’s absolutely right. Everyone is depressed and wants to get out
Lived in Connecticut all my life, this is the truth
Been saying the same things since I left CT the very first time. This place is exactly as described. A Highway full of despair. Thanks for making me feel better about my opinions, Joe.
I live in Connecticut it can be depression. I want out, I been here for all 22 years of my life. I feel like I can’t even talk to anyone in new haven. Anywhere in that fact. Honestly I feel weird being in Connecticut. I’ve been looking for jobs in the southern states, I’m getting out of Connecticut fast lol 😂
why do you feel weird?
I feel like New haven is much better than say the Hartford county. That place is scary weird
late response but I'm 28 and been stuck here my whole life and probably will be til the day I die. And everyone I know seems to be perfectly content or happy with the state (especially my dad... ugh.) so I feel your pain. Though for me it's not weird but rather just frustrating.
He bombed in Connecticut that's why he hates it so bad!
I LOVE CONNECTICUT ❤️ ❤ EVERY STATE HAS A GOOD AND BAD SIDE. just saying (he probably had a bad experience here with ppl or etc lol I can understand) I still respect Joe though it's just his opinion :D
When you see Joe on the street just yell "CONNECTICUT!!" doesn't even have to be a Rogan
Parents and I found out this summer that driving around CT is faster than going through it.
"I don't work in Connecticut." Yeah, no one else does either, Joe. All the businesses left.
No wonder it was so easy for me to get a job there.
I'm from bristol CT and that face Joe made when brendan said he's going to espn had me dying lmao
I'm offended. Apologize to my state.
hi, connecticut resident, i literally looked up "connecticut" looking for a video of someone saying how much they hate connecticut. thank you joe
