Difference is they're often brainwashed to think they're doing good cuz of where they live. I make $85,000 a year, have no medical insurance, don't drink or do drugs and live paycheck to paycheck.
Grew up on Army bases in the south then we moved to Detroit. My heart ached. I joined the Army and went back south for my training. Ahhh...I was home. First duty station was in upstate NY. SMH left the Army, went back to Detroit and got a job in a plant, worked at a nuke then at a coal burner for 31 yrs. Now, I'm back down south...home again, kept it simple my entire life, just laughed at those looking down their noses at that simple Man wearing his overalls, raising and showing bulldogs. All the while I put my money away and invested in myself. Was forced to retire, took my Wife, my bulldogs and my money back home...back south...to the pines and the sloughs. God has blessed me and mine...

Seeing the German Shepherd silhouette got me. I have a German shepherd dog, his name is Sampson. I almost lost him at age seven weeks and change. He had intractable seizures, the breeder blamed me due to giving him too much water and no food. I brought him to the dog emergency room, the vet told me I probably should put him down, and told me how much it could cost to keep him alive if he might be able to make it. I never hesitated and told her (the vet) I won’t give up on him. Before when I handed him over to the ER, in precious few seconds, I talked to my sick seizing pup, and told him to fight and I’d be there in the morning, and if he couldn’t make it, I’d understand. I prayed all night. He was put in to a coma, eventually he pulled out in the morning. My eyes weep to this day if ever I talk about it, he’s over 5 years old now. I’ve had dogs all my life, Sampson is a miracle, and has an intelligence and heart I praise God for whenever I see it. My friend in Christ, Oliver, as your Grandfather graces your steps I pray, be not afraid! You have beautiful dogs and I believe His grace including His angels are around you. May Jesus the Christ keep you and all of us in his Sacred Heart. Do Good work! Be not afraid!

Private road over a mile long big steel gate little house just big enough for me and my dog. No neighbors and plenty of game. A pickup and a Jeep a Kawasaki mule and a Massey Ferguson with loader and backhoe. And I don’t own anyone a damn dime.

So true, it’s all a facade anyway! People want to live above there means to fit in. Always trying to outdo the next person, instead of being comfortable in their own skin! Just be you and grateful for what you have. Sure life has its ups and downs and some have more than others, but don’t look down on those that have less either. I feel that this my dad's song on how he feels about his life and want the same thing for myself and my family. We just want to get some peace and quiet in the woods to get away from payments and banks to tie us to things we need to get on with our lives. Not only that but get away from the bad decisions of our politicians that affect us who want to be left alone.

Being a old boy from the WV mountains and living in Myrtle Beach for the last 8 years and just getting out of a recovery program for alcohol. I could not wait to get back to the the fresh mountain air and the land of milk and honey!
