I grew up in Powhatan Virginia, and my mom always had a crowd over picking and making some amazing music when I was growing up!! My mom played /picked the hell on a 4 string banjo! I'd play mandolin and would sing she'll be coming around the mountains when she comes! 🎶 with the whoever would come over to jam with my mom! I know the slices of heaven that Virginia is. Appalachian, at least the Virginia Appalachian area, is not too far from him, but he is not from there. Obviously, the Appalachian area varies greatly because it goes much further North and South of Virginia. I hear the folky, Appalachian, and original type country....where it really all started in America, in his music for sure. Simple, from the heart, authentic, and a bit twangy. Not that 'Western' or honky tonk southwest sound. He's great. Hits the soul for sure!

Sadly an industry, long gone are the days when music was an art. You can take movie or game music as a work of art, but all the pop, rock and other genres are mass-produced garbage nowadays. Independent music is salvageable, but when someone's contracted to a production studio more often than not it's SHIT.
