    By the Blood of the Throne, I don’t believe my 28 lbs sausage fingers could do such microscopic things!

    Wonderful rigging setup. Not as intimidating as I imagined. Your guide is very helpful.

    Does the ‘rigging’ need to be PE?
    What about EZLine or just standing rig thread like I had left over when building the 1/96 USS Constitution?
    I can understand, I’m a scratch builder. But, is there an advantage to using PE for rigging?
    Ok, it’s 3am, I’m heavily medicated and so I’ll shut up now coz your modeling skills are just, Jedi.

    • @TheMidwestModelShop
      @TheMidwestModelShop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ha! Thanks! No you can use anything you want. KA, Pontos, Woodys Model Works… all provide these PE parts and a lot of people are inclined to use them. That’s why I did the demo.

    Good job Ben. Now you will have to be very careful with wayward finger control!!! Nice to see how the KA stuff looks assembled.

    Are there currently resources to convert this 1/200 Titanic kit over to an R.M.S Olympic? The Titanic story is a tragedy, and I would rather own an example of an Olympic class ship that had a successful career.

    Another way of applying CA is with the hook-end of a sewing needle. Just take dowel (or an old wood paintbrush) drill a coresponding hole and CA the inverted pin - yes I see the irony there 🙄 😂.

    Hey Ben, not to rush ya or anything, but I have a question: When do you see yourself beginning your 1/200 USS Enterprise build? Also, FIRST.

      @@TheMidwestModelShop Cool. So, have you decided if you'll go with the Pontos kit or not? I'd go with both, but that's just me.

    What is that "clothesline" rigging b/t the vents...@4:37? And where did you get that ref?

    • @TheMidwestModelShop
      @TheMidwestModelShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s for holding up shades and it’s in the KA kit and the reference is any close up photo of Titanic in that area.

      I am not. A specialist company will.

    • @paulgertsch7105

      That's got to be expensive, but it will be worth it. I'm sure if they were to ship the Mona Lisa they wouldn't use the US Postal service.

    Ben, I have the KA kit but worried it may be too delicate. How would you attach EZ line or thread to the funnels and deck if you went that route?

    • @TheMidwestModelShop
      @TheMidwestModelShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Just the same as any other EZ Line application. Cut a length of the line. Put a tiny dot of CA glue on either the deck or the funnel. Touch one end of the line to the glue and let it set up. Then put a dot of CA glue at the other end and stick that end in place.

    • @adhuot01
      @adhuot01 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would you still use the KA pad eyes?

    • @TheMidwestModelShop
      @TheMidwestModelShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      I used the PE ones for the stern plate kit my customer purchased. And, you don’t see them unless you look for them. And even then they are hard to see. So, I don’t know if I would bother, honestly. Unless they are just as thin as the PE. Otherwise they will look funny.

    • @adhuot01
      @adhuot01 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry. I meant if I use EZ line or thread for the funnel rigging, do you think I could still use the KA PE mounting points on the funnels and deck or use something more robust like drilling holes to attach on each end?

    • @TheMidwestModelShop
      @TheMidwestModelShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could use the KA anchor points on the deck and funnel. That should work fine with the Ez Line.
