There’s two things to do here, either you can buy a specialised drill bit called a countersink. You can do that with your hands by which I mean I don’t think I used a special tool for it

Turns out it was faked. Or rather edited. No photos of Titanic at night are known of (at least to me). However it served a purpose to an extent. Yeah, I think if I had been a bit more brave I probably could have done it your way. What type of drill do you have??
@@TheModelBoatGuy i have a Bosch expo 2000, massive thing but it worked perfectly, i only messed up a bit on the propshaft things but nothing a bit of glue and filelr can fix
Cool !!
Yea the facebook page is: Trumpeter TITANIC 1/200th model ONLY building tips and tricks - I posted your series on My page - we have a few R/C Titanic fans
Thanks! I’m on the page actually, it’s great. Been getting some very good tips as I go 🙂
@@TheModelBoatGuy no problem -
7.00 in, that photo of her at night is touched up heavily. Well known in the community to not be 100% real.
I know, realised this after making the video! Oh well we live and learn I guess
The forth funnel is called a dummy funnel because it is fake.
Well it wasn’t really a fake. It certainly didn’t do the same job as the other three funnels as it didn’t allow smoke to escape from the boiler rooms. But it did provide a huge amount of ventilation to various spaces deep within the ship. If you look at other ocean liners of the time most are covered with ventilators and the Olympic class really don’t have that many, mainly because that fourth funnel did so much ventilating!
Oml I want this but the painting will suck
Please do not use that photo as a reference. It’s in not an accurate photograph. It was a daytime photograph that was retouched by someone of the time to illustrate how she may look at night. Totally inaccurate
Thanks for this, I’ve just read up on the image and what you say makes sense. I did wonder why the forth funnel had smoke coming out of it!
I have tweaked a few of the portholes now so it doesn’t represent the image quite as much! Thanks for the comment
Titanic 5972 yes the photo was altered a lot.
The small holes on the bottom arent portholes
I know, they are discharge ports for various bilge and foul water. I haven’t drilled them out
@@TheModelBoatGuy i noticed that in later vids. I was like "oh thank the gods he knows" 😂
@@imposter0shadow haha no worries!
Please make the boat play a song
Huh?
what an amazing kit too bad its marked up so much
I think that is really luck of the draw, some people have got kits with all the detail pristine, and others have got it with missing detail
do feel any symptoms of arthritis after this?
I certainly had sore fingers that’s for sure. Fortunately after this there was little to no drilling for a fair while
