I've got about 2 and 1/2 hours worth of commuting everyday, so the length of this podcast was just fine with me!

I like the bit about rigid macro counting. After my rugby playing years I put on nearly 40 kgs. Since lockdown ended here I have lost 32 of those. Strict mfp calorie counting and macro tracking was necessary for me to understand what it takes to eat at a deficit and how many calories are in different foods (looking at you, Olive Oil). But after about a year of consistent 1 lb/week cutting im a lot happier just still trending downwards at my own pace. I have rough calorie and protein targets but not going to beat myself up for having a night out drinking with friends or having a piece of birthday cake or even just having a month at maintenance calories, because that kinda flexibility mitigates the strict + 'fuck it point' yoyoing.

This has the least importance, but please confirm that I'm not imagining and the main camera is tilted, the shelves are not lined up.
Also wow, almost 3 hours. You're treating us well. The most difficult thing was not to spoil myself this episode with the last week's clips. And if you let Greg get lighter, he's gonna start winning bodybuilding shows.
Honestly though, I don't listen to anybody talking about physics who doesn't look like Albert Einstein. What could they possibly know, clearly they don't.
Have you guys ever thought about how complicated the intake recommendations get? Like when you calorie and macro count, then you decide to take a note of your saturated fats. 10% of your total calorie intake? Yes, I'm eating x kcals a day, I'm eating y grams of fat and z grams of saturated fat. That doesn't just automatically translate. Who calculates their fat intake in energy? What is the likelihood of going wrong if you had the recommendation in a useful number like grams?

The last bit: dannng factoring in the worsening of diet and increase in sedentary time really does make the increases in lifespan and well-being over the course of the lifespan just that more impressive

This is my favorite episode. This was my experience as well, there’s no reason to set a a timeline if you’re just looking to lose weight & keep it off

Seriously think bodybuilders should try GLP-1 medications to lower the psychosis of getting shredded. I wonder if that would be considered a performance enhancing drug.

If he ascends high enough up his own butt with advancement in veganism and zen Buddhism, then Eric will cease to exist and become Nothing, as is his goal

Seriously? 2 hours and 43 minutes?! What happened to the one hour time limit you were shooting for? Ain't nobody got time for that!
