5 mins into this episode and the first 2 mins 30 was genuinely hilarious. The deadpan delivery was of a kind arch nemesis Eric Helms can only dream of😂. Gold
You may see a lot of competitive bodybuilders using a glucose monitor mostly because they using exogenous hgh which raises fasting blood glucose levels
I've been really struggling to figure out how to eat less than 4-6 grams of sodium a day despite not adding any sodium to foods, and how to keep the fiber above 20 grams a day and how to keep saturated fat below 1/3 of fats despite eating lean meats most of the time and most fat products having at least 50-60% of unsaturated fats. Furthermore I eat veggies and don't buy processed foods, yet my diet just seems to manage having a lot of sodium anyway. Unless I have like 1500 kcals a day when I should be having 2400-2700 kcals, that's when it's barely above 2 grams of sodium. But like why are the recommendations always about the % of kcals. I can measure foods in grams, but trying to calculate 6-10% kcals in saturated fats is a pain in the ass. I could get them in grams with a snap of the finger, but not in kcals.
Sir, I dont wanna convince you of anything. I would just like you to think this through and if you dont agree, then by all means, keep doing what you doing. Do you really think that nutrition has to be this complicated? Would have we, as a species survived if it was that meticulous to eat? Does any other species struggle with what they should eat? I would encourage you to do your OWN research and dont just blindly believe anything. It has long been debunked (and was never actually scientifically proven) that salt, saturated fat or cholesterol is bad for you. I would encourage you to listen to low-carb speakers, be open-minded and get their prespective on things. People like Bart Kay, Paul Mason, Anthony Chaffee, Ken Berry, Low Carb Down Under. Give them a shot and decide who makes more sense. Zooming in on one nutrition camp and ideology and not looking at the opposite camp to test your belief system is not a wise thing to do. Listen to the whole spectrum (Full carnivore all the way to vegan) and research their main arguments and decide which ones make sense and are backed up by science, and which ones arent. (Hint: everything you "know" about sat.fat, salt and calories might just be completely wrong). I want the best for you, trust me! Wish you luck buddy :)
where is the evidence that fibre is needed? Yes it is in the dietary guidelines but look in there and you will find there is no evidence other than evidence of associations between fibre and health outcome( epidemiological)
What nutritional deficiencies are you referring to when it comes to carnivore? Can you be more specific? I have been non dairy carnivore with no organs for the past 5 years and I don’t have any deficiencies. I also have GI malabsorption due to pan ulcerative colitis and increased gut motility. So if I don’t have deficiencies even with all that I’m not sure what you are talking about.
I'm glad someone in pointing this out. He is completely clueless when it comes to the carnivore topic. Anybody can say words such as "the carnivore diet is deficient" but if you are not backing it up with any science then it is worthless. It's also not true that the literature doesnt support the diet. The fact is, I think the literature actually ONLY supports the carnivore/keto diet if we are being truly scientific. Mainstream nutritional science is a load of crap, that is based on epidemiology which cant prove anything. However, comparative anatomy, organ systems, biochemical pathways, evolution, anthropology all point to this direction. And not to mention the millions of anecdotes who say they reversed diseases that have been claimed "irreversible" by traditional medicine.
Whistling past the graveyard perhaps, but I haven't had my 'numbers' taken in about 30 years. I eat essentially plant based with a wee bit of cheese, and let the debaters debate.
It's nice to see you finally taking a firm hand on that whole Greg situation.
Best comment ever on this podcast.

So Greg is finally fired from this podcast! Nice beard by the way, Eric!
When I was a kid, the low carb diet in vogue was the 'Scarsdale Diet' by the now infamous Dr Tarnower.
This was great and really appreciated your open mindedness on Ketogenic diet
Trex, I’ve enjoyed a bunch of your work. But this intro was S-tier

Agreed! I haven't had fiber in more than 5 months. Boy, I must be constipated as hell...
Facts so many Misconceptions about weight loss

For the algorithm
I can't believe how much better this show is without Greg. And when I say can't, I really mean can.
I liked my own comment. I'm not sorry.
This is a way too reasonable and nuanced discussion of diet to be posted on the internet. Do better please.
your healthy diet indicator is a problem.
about vitamin C and carnivore: liver contains more of that than any fruit / 100g
I think you got it wrong, it's vitamin A
