I worked overnight at Walmart back around 2015, I made really good for the state that I live in, so much so that friends I have that went to school for a trade we’re like geez man. I loved it so much and I’m a night owl. You seem like with your personality you will be really amazing as a support manager and could go even higher up!

I am back to being homeless again and unemployed. I was an actual good worker at Wal-Mart as an Overnight Stocker. They tried to get rid of me last year and they didnt succeeded because i got the job last year but i had to quit later on and this time recently worked at the same location again when i came back from the military and i worked for 1week or 2 weeks only and had to quit, had enough of the toxic coworkers and the other bullsh*t. So many people dont deserve to have a job and deserve to get fired, not laid off but FIRED!(un-rehirable). Also, where the Wal-Mart i was at, it was a small city, stereotypical small cities that we all know about, nothing much going on, cause trouble, be in others business, stalkers, jealousy easily, small minded, etc.

@@positivelife7961 I get about 4 hours on the days I work overnight (it’s not everyday!) when I get home from my 9-430 I get in bed at 530p and wake up at 930p. Head to the overnight and we have 1 hour lunch breaks so I take a nap 😴.

@@newgguy5364 it might be different where you are but it’s 13.45 hr for my Walmart and the job title doesn’t really matter I don’t think you can change what the business calls the overnight group. My name tag says “overnight fulfilment associate” and I don’t think I can change that so.

That second wind after work is so relatable… stay up two hours after shift ends sleep for a few hours wake up like 2-4 hours later. I felt like the night flew by at Amazon because you work in a big environment and works evenly distributed here at Walmart your gonna be expected to work hard asf if your doing Dinner aisles while others do vegetables or frozen ice cream etc. definitely feels like the night drags on from 3am to 7am😭might switch to day shift because I’m sick 😂2pm to 11 thatd be better for me.
As a natural night owl that just legitimately enjoys the sense of accomplishment of getting things done, I supplement my primary job with working overnights at walmart on my scheduled nights 'off. I basically fill in as an extra unloader if they need the help, overnight stocker, remodeling, or even being the backroom person to operate the stacker in the storage racks and driving the fork truck in circles organizing cardboard bales and pallets behind the store. Lots of people have an unfavorable opinion of walmart as being a last resort in terms of employment options. And, if I had to deal with the rudeness, hostility, and demanding nature of the general public, I would not last 10 seconds working there. Overnight? Different story. Great atmosphere. Decent pay. Management truly appreciates the people who don't need a babysitter to get the job done. Always something different going on in there for expectations and responsibilities. The nights fly by. It takes a certain breed of crazy to happily work overnights. Beyond the revolving door of new hires, every walmart has a core group that has been there together for a decade of howling at the moon together during their lunch break. At 51 I was just looking to make some extra money. So I had orientation for over night stock and was told I would shadow someone for the first 2 weeks. My first night was 3 days ago. I didn't shadow anyone and received no kinds of training. I was thrown into frozen foods to put up 8 pallets, then dairy. I was told my first night that I was a better worker than employees that have been there for years. The second night again nobody to train with. I worked up at least 4 pallets of grocery and I can tell I am already being taken advantage of because of my abilities. Our store averages 2-3 million dollars a week in sales. I don't mind hard work at all, but I don't think the pay and hours are for me.
So I just started my orientation yesterday for the the overnight shift, the lady sucked at exlaing what to do and legit I have no idea what to do tomorrow for work, what do I do? Do I talk with an HR rep?
I also didn't really feel like the explanation I got was too great, but I just went to the same lady the next day and said "So where am I supposed to be?" and she took me to a team lead for one of the stocking teams who took over and explained everything better.

When I worked there I had associates that their night was like this.... clock in at 10pm from 10-10:20 the nightly meeting... 10:25 -10:55-- in the family bathroom ( you can lock the door and in there by yourself)... --10:55- 11:35 stock products... 11:35 oh no have to go to the family bathroom again( too much taco bell)! 11:55 done in the crapper... 12- shoot its break time!! 12:20 time to stock till 1:35(another visit to the crapper). 1:35 look at that it's lunch time!! Who would guess! 3:00am back from hour lunch and you guessed it... oh that poop wants to come out again... 3:25-4:35 stocking!!! 4:35 -4:55 yep poop again! 5am break!!yes! I am so wore out from stocking!! 5am-5:18 break.. back to stocking till 6:35. Yo another poo coming on till 6:55 ! Yes!! It time to get of at 7am!! Best part of the day!!! Easiest job I could ever think of!!!

You have to be physically fit. This is the hardest job in the store. Ive had many guys come n go because they gave up a month in. We each had our set sections.

try being on the ON crew at our store, cap2 never gets grocery done even though they have more than enough people we have had nights where we have to pull grocery out or even downstack it ourselves... by far the most favorite place in the store for me is homelines, followed by frozen i like doing frozen because youre alone and there is nobody to complain about how you work, you just rock out and get your job done the cold part doesnt bother me since im only in the freezer for a minute at a time to pull out a pallet or stick stuff in

They know they’re gonna get their asses handed to them in the morning because we have so many people on our team getting away with bad behavior.
Also most of the managers are assholes, they openly don’t care about us and just down right insulted one of my coworkers calling him fat. We both reported them but nothing happened to them
@@patricki186 idk if you started yet but it’s an easy job, my store says their expectation is 60 cases per hour and I’m averaging double that. It only took me a couple nights to get used to everything. The training videos make the job seem way more complicated than it actually is. That hardest part of the job is being stuck in the back room like me every night after you finish stocking your department. Some ppl never see the back room at all though. I’ve noticed that that harder you work, you have higher expectations and workload than the rest.
Yep, worked at Subway before and was getting $8.50 an hour. Started at Walmart this week and I'll be getting $14.50 an hour for o/n. I start my 4th day in a couple days which is my first actual shift on o/n. I was starting to get comfortable with everyone for my 11-8 training for the first 3 days, so now I'm nervous all over again going into overnights lol. Everyone I met during the day was pretty nice and helpful and I even made a couple friends in the short time I was there. So im crossing my fingers that I have the same experience when I switch over. So far the job itself is more tiring than I thought it would be. After my first day I came home, unbuttoned my pants (I was wearing jeans. not doing that again), and laid on my living room floor for like 25 minutes lmao. Besides that I think I get the jist of everything I'm supposed to do and I'm not mad about it. I'm really just just moving and placing things and I for some reason thought there'd be more to it than that. So far there isn't. But no one has really explained what my job is in the slightest. I just don't want to be stuck scanning shit and entering things into a computer, or looking at the back wall trying to find something, or printing new barcodes, and all that bullshit. I'd rather just do all the heavy lifting and let other people deal with shit like that. There's so much annoyance that comes with everything else. It would be really nice if this job literally just was "pick that up. move it over there. sit it down. ok you're done, go home.", but I guess I'll see.

When I worked there I had associates that their night was like this.... clock in at 10pm from 10-10:20 the nightly meeting... 10:25 -10:55-- in the family bathroom ( you can lock the door and in there by yourself)... --10:55- 11:35 stock products... 11:35 oh no have to go to the family bathroom again( too much taco bell)! 11:55 done in the crapper... 12- shoot its break time!! 12:20 time to stock till 1:35(another visit to the crapper). 1:35 look at that it's lunch time!! Who would guess! 3:00am back from hour lunch and you guessed it... oh that poop wants to come out again... 3:25-4:35 stocking!!! 4:35 -4:55 yep poop again! 5am break!!yes! I am so wore out from stocking!! 5am-5:18 break.. back to stocking till 6:35. Yo another poo coming on till 6:55 ! Yes!! It time to get of at 7am!! Best part of the day!!! Easiest job I could ever think of!!!

You have to be physically fit. This is the hardest job in the store. Ive had many guys come n go because they gave up a month in. We each had our set sections.

I’ve been working there for almost 3 months, the employees I work with are nice but the managers are rough and I’ve been getting days cut from me. So I’m in the middle of finding a daytime job that’s not with Walmart because I honestly don’t like working there.

we have had nights where we have to pull grocery out or even downstack it ourselves...
by far the most favorite place in the store for me is homelines, followed by frozen
i like doing frozen because youre alone and there is nobody to complain about how you work, you just rock out and get your job done
the cold part doesnt bother me since im only in the freezer for a minute at a time to pull out a pallet or stick stuff in

@@patricki186 idk if you started yet but it’s an easy job, my store says their expectation is 60 cases per hour and I’m averaging double that. It only took me a couple nights to get used to everything. The training videos make the job seem way more complicated than it actually is. That hardest part of the job is being stuck in the back room like me every night after you finish stocking your department. Some ppl never see the back room at all though. I’ve noticed that that harder you work, you have higher expectations and workload than the rest.
Yep, worked at Subway before and was getting $8.50 an hour. Started at Walmart this week and I'll be getting $14.50 an hour for o/n. I start my 4th day in a couple days which is my first actual shift on o/n. I was starting to get comfortable with everyone for my 11-8 training for the first 3 days, so now I'm nervous all over again going into overnights lol. Everyone I met during the day was pretty nice and helpful and I even made a couple friends in the short time I was there. So im crossing my fingers that I have the same experience when I switch over.
So far the job itself is more tiring than I thought it would be. After my first day I came home, unbuttoned my pants (I was wearing jeans. not doing that again), and laid on my living room floor for like 25 minutes lmao. Besides that I think I get the jist of everything I'm supposed to do and I'm not mad about it. I'm really just just moving and placing things and I for some reason thought there'd be more to it than that. So far there isn't.
But no one has really explained what my job is in the slightest. I just don't want to be stuck scanning shit and entering things into a computer, or looking at the back wall trying to find something, or printing new barcodes, and all that bullshit. I'd rather just do all the heavy lifting and let other people deal with shit like that. There's so much annoyance that comes with everything else. It would be really nice if this job literally just was "pick that up. move it over there. sit it down. ok you're done, go home.", but I guess I'll see.
Just passed the assessment 2 weeks ago but no call yet, hopefully I am able to work the overnight shift
