Skyrim is currently one of multiple reasons I haven't gotten videos out lately. I still encounter stuff in it that I've never seen before. Playing on PS5 currently.
Every year when winter is coming I return to Skyrim. Sometimes modded, sometimes Vanilla and this year I started playing the Oldrim before Special Edition even without Dawnguard /Dragonborn Addon.
Yes, Skyrim is great, I kept coming back sometimes with mods and sometimes without. To me it’s great for atmosphere and the ability to become whoever you want to be. Short writing about its strength but they do weigh a lot. . It’s flaws are not small either but the good parts overshadow them. Dark Messiah of Might and Magic came out 5 years before Skyrim and combat was way better, Dishonored came out just after Skyrim and it’s stealth mechanics are way better. . Skyrim’s weak point in terms of story was the main quest, the College of Winterhold quest line, and becoming the top member of most faction quest lines feels off.
Yes, but it's a CRPG my dude, its in it's own Genre. It's amazing for sure, but Skyrim and BG3 are in different groups. But that doesn't mean you can't like it more 🤗
@@DunYappin Crpg isn't a denominator of ethnic descent. It means computer rpg. Which is a style, mainly the top down perspective. Like old fallout games. First person or actions rps like Skyrim, the witcher, and cyberpunk are not crpg but they are western rpgs
As much as people online trash Skyrim (and I'm fully aware of it's flaws, I just hate hearing them repeated ad nauseum, because people are salty about Bethesda, or more accurately Zenimax), it's still a great game, all things considered. It holds up really well, even after 13 years, with few games from around it's release, and after, comparing to it.
Last point, this game is a cultural phenomenon. They are still making parody songs and videos like where do Skyrims rivers go that get millions of views. It’s ok not to like this game, I question your taste, but you can’t deny its impact or popularity.
I'm a huge Skyrim fan and modded the hell out of it. It's fun, BUT, BG3 kicked it off the top of the mountain for me, even with all the mods. BG3 is astonishing. I'm anxious to see the next elder scrolls and see if it can beat it because if it does... wow, just wow.
Very true, my fault for not specifying what I meant. Skyrim is classed as a first person Action rpg, Baldurs Gate 3 Is a CRPG. They are both RPGs, both made in the west. But to head them off against one another is odd IMO. If someone was to compare Cyberpunk 2077, Fallout or Deus Ex for example, then fair enough. But Baldurs gate is in the more Pathfinder, Pillars Of Eternity, Rogue Trader area. Do that make sense? 😅 Its cool all around to prefer BG3, but Skrim and BG3 are seperate under the RPG umbrella
Its so odd to me when AAA RPG games come out now fucking 10+ years later and can't even compare, not even slightly to skyrim. Yeah unreal gaphics and all that, but art direction is ass, gameplay ass, characters ass. Skyrim will most likely be my favorite game of all my life if not elder scrolls 6. Alltho I am not keeping my hopes up for that.
The game is objectively average. But it has a charm that no other first person western RPG have touched as of yet. There are some in the pipeline. But jusr because you understand that it's objectively not great, you shouldn't diminish the enjoyment of others. After all, all of us have something that is objectively mediocre, but brings us joy.
Also, the story is paper thin. The mechanics are shallow as a puddle. The world is boring and dead overall, a bad game, and this channel is just another bored uninspired d rider trying to not add anything worthwhile to waste time

You’re splitting hairs. Both trace their roots back to western table top rpgs and to western fantasy fiction.
