    Your life story is almost exactly same as mine and the k mart sharps knives I had them to and they sold a fixed blade to a sharps that looked kinda like a old western brand hunting skinning knife about 8 inches long

      Yes! I just saw that knife online and remembered I used to have one, I guess I sold it, don’t know why it was a great knife! Thanks

    I like the rosewood which is also used on guitars for the fret board. The other common fret board wood is maple of course. Do you also use maple for knife handles? How about oak?

      Yes, maple, oak, walnut, cherry, hickory, ash, to name a few more! I am now in the process of making new handles for the J.A. Henckels knife and they are made from teak.
