This is my Tool-Assisted Superplay for Mario Party 8 - Koopa's Tycoon Town.
Tool-Assisted means I played the game frame-by-frame and used save states allowing me to redo certain parts of the game until each part was perfect. An example of this is creating a save state before I hit my dice, then reloading the save state over and over until I get the number I want, doing this allows me to pick which spaces I land on and also allows me to roll a triple 7 or triple 10 so I can get coins and move loads of spaces.
I pause the game often so I can manipulate RNG to control the luck of the game. This allows me to control what numbers the CPU players roll on their dice, what items we get and which minigames are selected. - เกม

Yeah. Usually, DK invests 20 coins in a non locked hotel for you. He always goes for 1 of the main hotels but if they’re all fully invested, he’ll do a bonus hotel instead, and IF ALL the hotels, main AND bonus, are FULLY invested, DK just gives you 20 coins instead.
Edit: you’re telling me that NOTHING happens if all the hotels are fully invested in the DK event? That’s lame.

Most underrated Mario Party game. The music and sound effects have this weird quirk to them that I can't explain but it has such a "wii" charm to it that I love

i always assumed that the most underrated was mp2, I LOVED it but was my friends and brother least favorite overall 😢 i just want yoshi dressed in a pirate dress during gameplay don't judge me
Mp2 was the only one of the first 7 I had, so it is my 3rd favorite and best of the console mp games. Yes, island tour is better. plus, still only knowing 4-7 from youtube as they never got a port (yet 1-3 have been ported to 3 different systems).

A handicap of 3 stars at the start of the party plus 15 stars from the 5 main hotels plus 6 stars from the 2 bonus hotels and the 3 bonus stars at the end of the party.

Let's take a moment to appreciate the routing. They found a way to pull this off while almost exclusively rolling 7s (technically 21s), maximizing the BMing, and even showcasing two things you never see: DK spaces failing and a bonus star having no candidate! Bravo to you, TASer!

If it weren’t for the pity star he would’ve gotten dead last
26:52 I just now realized that if you both fall off in this minigame, Fly Guy only picks up one of you to decide the tiebreaker. This is a direct reference to the duel minigame Pitifall from Mario Party 6 where if you both fall off, Fly Guy only chooses one person to be the victor.
Unrelated fun fact: Treacherous Tightrope, (a minigame that doesn't appear in this video) has the opposite naming of another minigame all the way back in Mario Party 1, Tightrope Treachery. Real original Hudson Soft. (Same with "Bananas Faster" in Mario Party 7. Very original name. And Shock Absorbers, being used twice in MP5 and MP7; but they have completely different gameplay.) AND "Money Belts" from Mario Party 4 and "Money Belt" from Mario Party 6 are completely different too. Money Belt from Mario Party 6 is X-Ray payday in superstars. Back to this game, the extra minigame "Flagging Rights" is literally Shy Guy Says again but with awkward motion controls.
Also, you automatically get a like for owning an early print of the game with the custom border and Kamek saying "Spastic".

I feel like 5:40 is an underrated moment.
For context, Very Hard CPUs on Mario Matrix are stupidly good at this minigame, so much so that it's hard for a real person to win the minigame, let alone against 3 Very Hard CPUs. So seeing this TAS skunk ALL of them really shows the disrespect this TAS gives to the CPUs and I can't help but point that out.

Incredible! I have actually been wondering for many months now if it was possible to get 21 stars in just a 10 turn game and it turns out it absolutely is! The fact you not only can own every hotel but also go as far as to have 100 coins invested in every hotel in just 10 turns is absolutely crazy! I also appreciate how you landed on the DK Space at the end as I have always wondered how the game would react. Never have seen the text box shown at 34:31 before now and I imagine that’s because the condition to trigger it is extremely rare. Very well done and thank you for making this! On a side note, I would love to see a TAS where Beastly only manipulates his own luck, not the AI's. This would include minigames too
That's an interesting idea! Would be fun to see what the CPU players end up doing without me deciding their luck. I would also get minigames I would never usually pick which could be fun to try.

Amazing like usual! Do you know when the game decides the bonus stars? Whether it’s at the beginning of the game, the end, or sometime else? And I love landing on the DK space to finish everything off to prove you got every hotel!
I think the game decides bonus stars as the final minigame is selected. That's how it seemed to work in Mario Party DS. I tried RNG manipulating the bonus stars at the end of the final minigame by pausing and wasting time on the results screen but that didn't work.
If you’re still going with these kinds of challenges, try this one: play MP7’s Windmillville, and invest 100 coins on every windmill in 10 turns. I’m sure you’ll do it. If you need some extra coins, try having your opponents land on the DK spaces and get the Multiplayer DK minigame, more specifically, the one where you go down a slide and you know what paths to take to get the most bananas.

I know this video is pretty old but what did toad get in the "science part of making this run" to justify a double pause?
