It’s ironic how Daemon’s plans always end up being the right ones in hindsight. Rhaenys died in a 2vs1 which is what Daemon proposed that they did to Vhagar.
Yeah, they technically have more Dragons; all they need to kill is the rider Aemond. Killing Vhagar would be too hard but if they swarm it like flies they deff kill Aemond easily. The real issue would be coordination but it shouldn't be something hard if you are preparing for war.
they could have killed Vhagar with Meleys and Caraxes together but it was still a reckless idea... Sunfyre would have joined aswell and Kings landing has a lot of scorpions... who knows how this fight would have ended...maybe they would have all been dead
I don’t think Aegon is really book smart. I think he probably had a hard time learning the histories and studies. When he was old enough to not have to go to studies he probably stopped and that’s when he started drinking.
Yo I'm so sick of this big ass green dinosaur in the sky catching people by surprise. Vhagar is far too large to be so stealthy. Rhaenys c'mon baby, why would you fly over a blind spot?
Would have been even smarter to fly to Harrenhal and grab Daemon and Ceraxes to jump Vhaegar like he suggested episodes ago. I guess that would be too damaging to the greens

Fun Fact: Meleys was the dragon of Alyssa Targaryen, sister wife to Baelon Targaryen whose mount was Vhagar so at some point before they were "technically" partner dragons.

One critique I have is that Aemonds attention wasnt on Meleys. If you notice after he burns Aegon and Sunfyre he was looking for Aegons body in the sky. It wasnt until Meleys went back that Aemond was like Meleys is just another obstacle in his way to kill Aegon. Also he had his sword drawn but sheathed it bc he was going to use the kings dagger instead, so yes Aemond was planning to kill Aegon with his own favorite dagger Aegon flaunts all the time

More than that, by propping Rhaenyra up he's made this whole war happen (that's effectively what dream-Rhaenyra was saying with that whole "you created me" bit), so it's the blood of the realm as well. Multi-layered mucky hands!
maybe Aemond, by saying to everyone that Aegon killed Maelys/Rhaenys, gives him a narative where Aegon is the hero in order for him to not tell that Aemond purposefully burnt him : if he doesn't say anything, he gets to be the hero and respected, if he says something, he might bring down his brother, but appears weak, doesn't help the realm and is still burnt to the crisp. With this narative, Aemond push Aegon to never reveal the truth, hence the version we get in the book
I've not read this far into the book, but watching ep5 preview and hearing them say that Aegon is the one that slayed Meleys felt like propaganda from the Hightowers and I think this is really going to wind Aemond up. And this rage and feeling of invincibility will be his eventual downfall.

If Josh Brolin’s Cable thought us anything is that once you taste that first kill, the next ones are gonna be easy. This is what happens to Aemond once he accidentally kills Luke.
Aemond definitely not trying to finished off Aegon, he probably draw his sword due to some sort of defense mechanism. He's trying to sheath it before Ser Crispin called his name.
I notice that when Rhænys and Meleys return to the battle the first time, they climb up from behind the castle, following the same path Æmond and Vhægar will later fly when they kill them.
Both dragons are experienced at war. Aemond isn't, but Vhagar is almost 200, so she's battle enough for the both of them. And Meleys and Rheanys have been pulling up on suckahs together for a long time, so they got the squabble dance down. 😊❤
Was so happy to see our boy Mr blackwood again. He was such a badass slaying brackens back in the days of courting Rheneara and he's right back at it now even if you claims it's because of the oath his father swore
Watched a lot of recaps, you are the only one that mentions the blood in one shot on his hand and that it wasn’t there in the next scene-a remnant of the dream in his mind. I love the attention to detail. ❤
... small note, it was Lord Gorman Massey, the one pouring himself a second cup of wine, not Broome. But yeah Broome's pommel leaning up against the table near Rhaneyra's map figurine is definitely a foreshadow of his intentions made known later in the story.
Also I believe they are purposely leaving hints about the Maesters being part of a conspiracy. Back in season 1, it was a maester who had to interpret Rhaenyra's message to Borros Baratheon who then sides with the greens. I wonder if it's simply a conspiracy to get the Hightowers more power, or if they really do want to rid the world of magic.
Plus last episode Daemon stating that the vassals should obey their liege lord no matter his condition is foreshadowing how the greens council will obey Aegon after he is incapacitated
Do you think Aemond will discover the Song of Ice and Fire in Aegon's dagger?
Probably the way that he looked at the knife
Hmmmmm…yes but he will either keep it to himself or tell another character that ends up dieing or not revealing it either

Damn the muppet drag 😂
the burning mill scene being just one big blur and a puddle of water is absolutely criminal 😂
If Josh Brolin’s Cable thought us anything is that once you taste that first kill, the next ones are gonna be easy. This is what happens to Aemond once he accidentally kills Luke.
I think Vhagar read his intentions and acted on it. He meant to kill that boy.
@@Clairejart Aemond clearly commanded Vhagar to stop.
Oils? I assumed it was blood that dropped on the soliders below while Vhagar was bleeding from it's wounds.
The fact that Rhae speaks inaudibly could symbolize how Daemon feels out of control of significant events and doesn’t have a clear way to the throne.
Aemond definitely not trying to finished off Aegon, he probably draw his sword due to some sort of defense mechanism. He's trying to sheath it before Ser Crispin called his name.
First thing I thought as well, I immediately rewatched the scene to make sure he was sheathing it before hearing Cole...
I get that vahgar has war experience, but where did aemond get battle experience from
I notice that when Rhænys and Meleys return to the battle the first time, they climb up from behind the castle, following the same path Æmond and Vhægar will later fly when they kill them.
This was painful, I love all the Dragons
... small note, it was Lord Gorman Massey, the one pouring himself a second cup of wine, not Broome. But yeah Broome's pommel leaning up against the table near Rhaneyra's map figurine is definitely a foreshadow of his intentions made known later in the story.
rhaenys watching the life leave meleys's body was so sad
Also I believe they are purposely leaving hints about the Maesters being part of a conspiracy. Back in season 1, it was a maester who had to interpret Rhaenyra's message to Borros Baratheon who then sides with the greens.
I wonder if it's simply a conspiracy to get the Hightowers more power, or if they really do want to rid the world of magic.
Loving the Muppet/Sesame Street sas!
Plus last episode Daemon stating that the vassals should obey their liege lord no matter his condition is foreshadowing how the greens council will obey Aegon after he is incapacitated
In the books, Drogon's blood was also smoking.
It did here too
In the video they say it's lung fluid. I think it's dragon's blood. just compare it to Drogon's blood in the meereen arena.
Aemonds eye patch had a gold rivet during Season 1. Mayhap the reason that "Daemons" has one is that is how he last saw him? Maybe?
