Great video I just stumbled across it my BOV bracket didn't align properly with intercooler. I made it work, but it was like the first generation BOV Kits for the 2015 F 150.
Thank you! And yeah I believe they had that issue back in the day and still sometimes do. It’s aftermarket it happens but Aslong as you made it work that’s all that matters!

When I was looking for a pickup I was dead set on a V8. Then I test drove the 3.5 ecoboost and got goosebumps test driving it. They're impressive. There is no 'eco' tho.
Yeah there is.... if you keep your foot outta tha tank. PA to FL at 22 mpgs twice. Just had to drive like Pap pap.

Boomba racing has a $60 part that connects to the BOV bypass valve and still uses recirculated tubes

This could explain a lot, haha. I’m a carpenter and only know basic car and truck shit. I’ve been test driving 150s all week with the turbo motors and all of em sounded the same except one. I’m like dam I can hear this turbo hissing like crazy it was a night and day difference. Good video.

2011 3.5 182000 Miles no mayor problems just regular service, oil catch can a corsa DB exhaust that sounds great even the turbos got louder

Quick question. Does your truck have navigation with the sync 3? I have a 17 stx with sync 3 and when I pull up my nav on android it doesnt look like that.

@Ratchet Wrenches Do you only hear the turbo more when you let off the gas or you hear it more also when accelerating ? (kind of like a big diesel pickup truck)
So for this sound of the blow off valve you’ll heard that when you let off the gas because the pressure is being released. We do have downpipes installed and they create more turbo noise which when you are accelerating you can hear them spool up. Nothing like the turbo Diesels tho

Thanks and honestly I’m not sure some ppl say it won’t and some people say it will. But ultimately it really is up to the dealer to determine if they want to void it if something goes wrong and they see this part. I’ve worked at some dealers where mods should void warranties but we didn’t so it truly depends
You can also remove the turbo silencers. Remove the y pipe of the intake plumbing, then you can remove the silencers that are installed in the pipe. For those of you who might read this and try, the silencers look like a fan blade made of plastic and are seated in the pipe at the splices. There is two. Remove both and reinstall y pipe. Cheers

They aren't silencers, they dampen air turbulence to allow your turbos to suck air more efficiently. You don't know better than the engineers no matter what momma told you about being a smart boy.
@@chillwill5080 my turbos got louder when I took them out. Therefore they got called silencers.
@@jacobjohnson7815 "got louder", so they actually were not silent before, therefore the "silencers" actually aren't. LOL
The simple VTA mod sounds just as good if not louder. Hard to tell from video how loud it actually is but I just vented the bypass and it’s loud as fuck.

No kidding! I just installed a Five Star E50 tune on mine. WOW WOW WOW!!!! By FAR the fastest vehicle I've ever owned in my 48 years! I think I should probably start looking for replacement tires. haha
I do with my built supercharged 5.0 they keep trying but it never happens

@@dwreckbaker6382 That’s an extra $10k for no reason and money you won’t get back when selling. Might actually get less then stock as people will know you beat the piss out of it. With an Ecoboost you just return the tune to stock.

No it won't so you're good. There are laws in place now that protect consumers buying aftermarket products for vehicles still under warranty, so unless an add-on was the direct reason your truck failed they cannot blame you for adding it on
I did the same set up on my 2016 F150 with the same BOV but didn't have to take the intercooler off, why did you?
For video purposes it’s just a lot easier to see how it’s done with the intercooler of the car ya know?

Hi I own a 2016 3.5 ecoboost f150 super cab long bed 4x4 truck xlt is the 2016 3.5 ecoboost a truck worth keeping cus I got 108000 Miles on its and I got a 2005 5.3 v8 chevy silverado truck 4x4 with 302000 miles on its and still run like new never baby its that all is the 2016 3.5 ecoboost f150 engine same long living like that or is its junk way before that please let me know right away please
I mean honestly I’m not too sure, ours isn’t near 100k miles yet so I can’t relate but I will say with this truck bring tuned and pushing some serious power we’ve had no issues yet. So from our experience I think these motors are built pretty solid especially with sorta beating on it

You can get one for your 2.7, it won’t hurt or damage anything. It’s purely for noise.

It sounds good but I really want to know if it helps increase HP, torque, or just helps the motor/turbo breath a little better. That is the ONLY thing this video is missing. Great job.
It’s not really a performance upgrade unfortunately, there’s a bunch of discussions stating it helps the turbo and others saying it doesn’t. It’s really just for sound honestly

Go get a chair leg tip for $3 and spent 20 seconds installing it and take it out whenever you want. Same exact sound

In this video we had stock exhaust. We now have SPDPerformance turbo adapters along with high flow catttd downpipes. It’s definitely quiet yet you can hear the turbos spool a lot more! With the tune we have this truck pushes over 500hp to the wheels. So I’d say it’s quiet performance

No worries! But honestly this part is mostly for sound, no real performance or anything beneficial
Does it matter if one gets a bypass or blow-off valve? Does it affect the turbo or compressed air in any way?
Kou-Lai Chang well the truck is stock with a bypass valve. But we actually upgraded to a Blow off valve and you can look into online they have like such minimal difference that it won’t hurt the car but they make different a spunds because airs flowing differently
"Traditionally blow-off valves vent 100-percent to the atmosphere - If a BOV vents all of that remaining pressure to the atmosphere, boost pressure must start from zero. This can be really frustrating when you’re shifting and experiencing turbocharger lag in every single gear. Recirculating BPV helps decrease lag substantially when going from gear to gear."
Basically, these guys downgraded to a BOV from a BPV...but if you like the sound it makes...lmao hell...go for it.

@@dominic9094 yeah i have a 2.7 ecoboost street truck im building rn and i try and tell people if they want the blow off sound just buy the vta mod for the stock bypass valve as it doesn't take any maintenance. Those turbosmart blowoff valves require lubrication and cleaning every 2 to 3 oil changes.

Honestly I’m not sure what the market is now a days for these but that’s pretty high for the mileage it has but that could be what trucks are going for now a days

Nope just the noise!
Or you can just pull the hose off and then cap it and have the same thing without spending 300$ and ruining a sensor. Also not having to pull the bov off and clean it every once in a while is nice.
I mean you can do it that way but that’s a little cheesy in my opinion, spend the money and do it right ya know? $300 isn’t anything for a car/truck mod lol. If you’re a true car/truck person and enjoy modding them, then you don’t mind the money. My gti has easily over 6k into, our other cars have a lot too. Do it right that’s all no matter the cost or don’t mod your car/truck period

Not to mention the truck was engeneered with it and i see no reason to replace it if im making 400+ to the wheels with basic performance mods. Only way id get a bov woukd be if mine broke and that probably doesn't happen often
That’s exactly what I did with mine. The pshhhh isn’t as loud or as long as it would be with an after market BOV, but it still sounds good!
When you leave the gas press to speed up. Does it make that sound automatically when it changes gears or you releasing the gas pedal to make that sound??
oscar47olguin it works based on pressure so yes when you release the gas pedal the turbo releases the pressure and that’s when the sound activates. Pressing the gas and when it changes gears rarely makes the noise because the boost pressure is still climbing
