    Phil
as a lifelong 2CV owner it has been fun watching your progress. I have rebuilt a number of 2CVs for the road and racing over the years. I currently run an AmiSuper with a 2CV body and fuel injected 1299cc GSA engine.
I first built the car in the late 1980s as a student, and rebuilt it for the third time just a couple of years ago. My body and chassis required an equal amount of surgery, and the hours involved to do this run into the 100's as you will know. Having said that, it was enjoyable work (most of the time) and a great feeling to get the car back onto the road after 4 years sitting next to my garage.
I am looking forward to seeing your car back on the road once again. Not many people have either the money, patience or skills to do what you are doing. Maybe that is why there are so few 2CVs and A-series cars left on the roads these days.

Many thanks! I started doing this to keep my lad in Dublin up to speed with the project. My other bit said he couldn't see the potential when we first got it. He's learning 😉.
I'd love an Ami Super. We had one in 70s when I was a kid but dad sold it because of camshaft wear.. shame. That was a '75 car too. We had regular visits to the Citroen dealer where I took home all the brochures.
Fuel injected sounds fun. How did you do that?

@@philwesty21 Back in the late 1980's, my base car was a rotten 1976 Ami Super estate that I found in a Wolverhampton scrap yard. The body literally pulled apart by hand, so was beyond saving. I swapped out the 1015 motor for a 1299 with Kent cams and fitted a 2CV body - lots of floor mods required!
For my recent venture into fuel injection, I used some throttle bodies from a Suzuki GXR600 motorbike and modified them to suit the GSA engine cylinder spacing. Made up my own throttle mechanisms. Before that I was running a pair of Dellorto's from an Alfasud Sprint. I'm using a Megasquirt fuel injection ECU. I mounted a trigger wheel behind the fan to give me the crank position. Wasted spark coil pack. Lots of other stuff too to make it work. 84hp at the crank so gets a move on.
However, I would still like a standard 2CV in the garage as well.

I love rebuilding/cleaning carbs 👍... as a teenager I found them so intimidating but once you've done a few it's simple 😎 ... now it's probably my favourite part of working on any vehicle

Agreed. They are nice to work on. Some look better than others too. This isn't one of the nicer imho!

@@philwesty21 true, they aren't pretty but easier than some to work on ... I've got a rochester 4 barrel Quadrajet (from a '52 Cadillac) apart at the moment and although it's huge, it's really nice looking ... 😎

"Should really have got all the tools out first shouldn't I?" - you got your tea, that's the main thing.
