Might I say, you are awesome Sir! I've been so mentally blocked that I have struggled these last few days with this tool. I needed to know more and found your channel. Thank you SOOO much for making this video. I'm a full on subscriber to your channel now. Will be going to your page a lot today to look for more great information and tips! Thanks again for taking the time to make these videos.
Thank you for this video. very helpful! but most of all, thank you for getting to the point! so tired of video's and having to wait for them to get to the point! really enjoy your videos
Thanks John I was always scared of the path tools and nodes but you have given me the confidence and I have just drawn that flower and a wonky heart (it wasn't supposed to be wonky but I quite like it hahaha!) you explain everything so well thanks again. Kim
I find your tutorials really helpful. I was trying to use the path tool to help me to trace around a drawing, but unfortunately, each time I had to move across the screen to see the next part of my drawing, the path tool either ended, or created a strange loop and I couldn't then close the intersections that appeared. Could you demonstrate the path tool on a more complex design please. The canvas trace option wasn't able to identify the outline of my design.
I was wondering....I use a different software for design and am now trying to learn this software which seems much easier, but I am still at a loss as I can't find all of the functions of my other software. So, I was wondering...do you know if there is a way to divide an item so that it has open lines so that I could then mirror? For example: Let's say that I wanted to create a heart and as I design, I find one side bigger or better than the other side. So, I would want to keep the one side and discard the other side. I would want to divide the design right down the middle and leave an open path...discard the side that I dislike and then mirror the side that I do like and then close the paths for a perfect heart. Does that make sense? Can that be done in the SNC Canvas?
GentlemanCrafter many thanks hope you carry explaining in your great way as I have a great drawing but I need to know how to delete some parts, I am hoping there in your videos shortly. Many thanks for your videos.
I’ve been going crazy lookin for this answer. When I use the path tool I get the blue dot but when I draw, a line come out of both sides of the dot. I can’t seem to find a setting to fix it so I just get a straight line. And how do you get those menus to pop up? Thanks so much!
I think part of your question was answered in the video here. For more a deeper understanding I have created a full Scan N Cut course over on Udemy. Please do check that out.
Hello, I am trying to make a 3.5 x 3.5 square with two of the corners rounded. I can't figure out how to do it. I am not finding the option to curve the path tool on my canvas software. Thank you for any help.
Thank you John saved for practice

+Kamili So pleased you've found the confidence through these videos :)
Thank you, I only used this path a few times without knowing what it's used for.
What would we do without you! I do need to practice the proper use of this tool so I will not be so intimidated by the Bezier handles.
Thank you so much for this video. I was going crazy trying to figure out how to use this feature.
Very helpful, thank you!!!

Yes, this is possible. It may be done the same way that you would in your existing software, but this is definitely possible.
