J. Cole is absolutely underrated as a producer. This beat is flawless imo.
Cole has never missed as a producer in my opinion. Bro just knows what sounds good
I 100% agree. Makes me sad that they haven’t moved forward with their collaborative album they were working on.
facts
Mac’s Hurt Feelings too great beat
Cole jacked this beat & altered it.
Huuuuuge. This was the first song I heard from Kendrick that had me going “he’s next”. Crazy to see how he blew up

CRAZY how much this still holds up. One of those songs where even though you haven’t heard it in years, you remember all the words. It just sticks with you.
Kendricks back catalogue in a nutshell
I started rapping along before Kendrick even started rapping lol.
This song still gives me the same feeling from when I first heard it.
PLEASE DO MORE OF SECTION 80 , it’s criminally slept on
Man idk why they don’t do album reactions

The first Kendrick song I ever heard was Cartoons & Cereal ft. Gunplay.. I was obsessed. Kendrick definitely has some classics.

Goated song 🤯

I remember sleeping on that song when it first dropped. Like I probably didn’t press play for a month or so. When I finally did. This shit was on repeat. Was low key disappointed it didn’t make good Kid.
i still play that song when no one knows wtf it is. lol
This is one of the greatest rap songs of all time.
Had to come back here after the diss reactions to restore my faith in these dudes. Ryan got caught up and didn't want to give Kendrick his flowers
It’s really not that deep OR personal lmao

Section 80 is amazing. HiiiPower, ADHD, rigamortis, kush and Corinthians, and the list goes on. Phenomenal album

One of my fave Kendrick songs and one of my favorite J Cole beats. Crazy combination. Great to see you guys react/review this one.
Y’all need to do the whole mixtape. This was my introduction to Kendrick back in 2011/2012
Classic song keep it up
Looking back at this video i should have known Ryan was a hater of Kendrick because how tf you haven’t heard hiipower🤦🏾♂️
This was 🔥🔥🔥. Kendrick came on the scene and never left the game the same. Much love guys
Overly Dedicated the tape before Section 80 was crazy too. Y’all should check that out too if you haven’t listened to it before
That "ignorance is bliss" song 🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@ElTrokeroLokochon The beat makes me make… that stank face… every time. Literally makes no sense how he ever found 1 let alone so many cadences on that beat.
Opposites Attract makes me cry almost every time. Average Joe is a timeless “Dot” record. Facts.

Facts! First introduction to Jhene Aiko as well
This songe his like a fine wine 🍷 🙌🏾 thank God for J.COLE and KENDRICK
My first time hearing Kendrick was on Jay Rocks Hood Gone Love It but I learned he was the chosen one when I heard Overly Dedicated. The song that changed my life was The Heart Part 2. I got to thank him in Baltimore when he headlined the BET Music Matters Tour In front of 2,500 people right before GKMC dropped. Been to every Tour and Festival he's performed at. When I say I shed a tear every show just seeing him grow from shaking his hand in 2011 telling him thank you, to seeing him sell out arenas and be world famous is the greatest feeling. God bless Music.
Heart pt. 2 was my introduction. Followed swiftly by Cartoons & Cereal.
@joshwhite6646 Seeing cartoons and cereal live was insane. Because Kendrick would leave the stage as if the set was done, and all of the lights would go out. Then people start yelling Kendrick, Kendrick, Then all you hear is "Now I was raised In a Sandbox." THEN YOU HEAR A LOUD DOOT DOOT DOOT WHILE THE LIGHTS ARE FLICKERING. I HAD AN OUTER BODY EXPERIENCE. KENDRICK LEFT EARTH ON CARTOONS AND CEREAL
@@MrOhioPlayer that's epic
This song is a classic! It was the first song I heard form K Dot and it’s still as 🔥 today as it was years ago! Glad to see y’all review some classics on the channel!
I can't count how many times I've listened to this song and NEVER knew till today that Jermaine Cole produced it. I mean, now I totally hear it and knowing J did it adds a new dimension when re-listening.
The City - Game ft. Kendrick Lamar was the first time I heard him and he absolutely killed it. Originally thought it was an awesome Lil Wayne verse. That’d also be an awesome song to see you cover.
Classic Song, classic beat, classic lyrics. I was in high school when Section.80 dropped and it’s still in rotation to this day 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cole jacked this beat...still dope. But not his.
*proceeds to insert to this day meme*
I was a senior as well when Section 80 dropped . What a time
This was one of the first Kendrick song for me! Haven’t looked back since!!!!! 2011 was a great year
I’m in full support of this lane. You guys put me on hella game as far as hip hop goes. been watching you guys since i was 17, i’m 24 now been a long journey
I liked the ‘So Appalled’ interpolation with the “5 star dishes, food for thought bitches. I mean this shit is…” when I first heard this too

This could be released today and be fire. I love this damn song and Cole did his thing on this track
It’s crazy Cole actually put me on to Kendrick I remember watching one of his Q+A online and he was telling the viewers about Kendrick overly dedicated was out at the time been a fan ever since
This dong was my introduction to Kendrick as well. Thank you for taking us back to this. I had no idea that J.Cole produced this. Thank you for that information. You guys are doing great! keep up the amazing work, for real!
The hieroglyphs and pyramids also referenced him building a long lasting legacy, the pyramids are around after thousands of years, a metaphor for how he wants his music perceived.
top 5 favorite kendrick tracks all time, this song made me a fan
That's very debatable
@@tumainikhumalo545 no doubt
Definitely my 2nd favorite track from this debut album. ADHD is my favorite.
I have literally been waiting for years to get this reaction! ive been following you guys for 5 years, and this song right here, ive allways wanted to see your reaction to.
This is one of the best Kendrick lamar songs and with a insane beat
This is a huge on!!
Big ups from Denmark
such a classic, always great hearing your thoughts
This and Kieshas Song kinda just did it for me the second I heard those two songs I knew he was going to do insane things for the rap genre.
Let's be real:
Younger audience will love the exposure/education that they NEED from the classics, AND
Older audiences will appreciate the music they love FINALLY getting the respect it deserves
Big fan of this content!
this song made me love Kendrick Lamar and I still listen to this to this day and never get tired of it
Saw this and was like can’t believe I haven’t seen this yet, realized it’s new lol. Can’t wait to enjoy this
Truly think it’s arguable that this is his best project, not that his other projects aren’t good but to me I don’t think he will top this. 10+ years later and still know all the words to pretty much every song on Section 80
ive always held this up as his best... will die on that hill every day of the week

I think the true testament to Kendrick’s talent and artistry is that you can make the argument for any of his albums being his best
What I would give to hear this again for the first time. This was my pump up song for track events. Nothing got me more hype back in the day. Thank you for this!
Thanks for this throwback y'all should do more
Good music is timeless. this aged very well. there's a reason its called classic music. Kendrick Lamar came in legendary.
I'm so happy yall blew up for just doing your thing. Been watching you guys a while. Much love, and hope you and yours are all well.
As a guy with a widows peak i can confirm we keep our shit edged up. You'll never know 😂

I was listening to J Cole a lot back then. Then I saw this song 'prod. by J Cole' and thought, lemme listen to that. Still one of my favorite Kendrick songs
Cartoons & cereal was my introduction to Kendrick Lamar.
This and Hol'Up are my faves off the album. The Panthers influenced a lot of my thinking so I really appreciated the theme. Rest in Peace Alori Joh🕊🙏🏾
There's a new track out from Mick Jenkins called " smoke break-dance " featuring JID - that's mandatory for you guys
miss when ya’ll used to do stuff like this glad to see a reaction to a great song
the idea of making own hieroglyphs makes me roll my eyes and yet he even has the line you cant help but smile or smthg like that. Simply a song that hits hard, glad i heard it late rather than never

What a powerful song!!..Still get goosebumps like the first time I heard it👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼thank you
I’m going to comment again because I’m listening to this reaction today -
My guys - this beat and rap I feel has a big argument for this to be one of the best rap beats ever made 🕺🏼 big up J Cole 🤌🏼
This is REPEAT mode on the playlist -
People playing with Cole ? Funny u saying that because that man is one of the BEST to ever to do it. So talented 🕺🏼
K dot on this is just pure 🔥

Abit of back story: Alori Joh (26:32) was one of the singers in TDE, and also was Absoul's girlfriend. She committed suicide and Absoul made a song called : The book of Soul, where he was speaking about her. I've never heard Absoul rap with such passion and hurt in my life, and he even broke down and cried on the verse. PLEASE REACT TO THE BOOK OF SOUL BY ABSOUL, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
a true classic. this album helped get me into hip hop.
Section 80 is a classic to me. Does not get enough recognition.

Thank you!!!! Y’all don’t know how hype I was to see this pop up on my feed!! Please do more old Kdot!!!
Just want to give you guys a shout out, I've seen something like 10 million reaction channels over the years and you've always been one of the best, by far. Genuine, in-depth, fun. Love the passion and it's never changed.
Unreal track & album
The classic stuff hit different. 😪👑🤞
LOVE THIS!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do “Revenge of the Dreamer - J Cole” the song not the mixtape. Arguably one of his best tracks
back before lost in vegas completely ruined their reputation and credibility
So they lost their credibility and you came back to watch more of their stuff? Lmao!

My #1 Kendrick song since I first heard it like more than a decade ago now I think.
Legendary 🔥 🔥
Still to this day my favourite Kendrick track and the reason I am still hoping for a whole project with Cole
Always love some throwback reactions
One of the greatest songs in hip hop in my opinion truly timeless classic
Needed this Kendrick needs more appreciation on TH-cam
Kendrick has put out so many great songs and albums so far, but this is still a top 5 Kdot song for me. Wow, a true artist!
Maaaan, this song is so fucken good 😭😭😭😭
First K Dot song I ever heard was an old one called “Keisha Song” - one of the best tracks till this day in my opinion, amazing storytelling of a true event even though tragic
Absolute Classic
If Ryan hasn’t heard this you guys should do Keisha’s song
Can we get an album review? I really wanna see Ryan's reaction to No Makeup, Keisha's Song, Po Man's Dream, and ADHD...and as yoi may know, he drops an installment of The Heart before his album, so you should definitely do The Heart Part 2. SHIT!, Ryan probably never heard Overly Dedicated either. damn homie...he got some HW to do
I like how you guys are doing some older stuff, definitely will be on the lookout for more 💯
Hey guys, first off I wanna as a younger guy who loves old school/classic hip hop I can’t even begin to tell you how much I’ve appreciated your breakdowns and opinions over the years. Since I was 16 y’all have had such an impact on how I consume music and you’ll never know how much your channel has really helped me through some of the tougher times. Without dragging this on too long, I think revisiting older music is such a good idea and I’d highly recommend Kendrick’s “The Heart” series (specifically Pt. 2👏🏾) especially since Pt. 5 really resonated with you guys. Hope y’all end up seeing this and shout out to the free thinkers 🫡
Lesssgo with the throwbacks! This top 2 kendrick song. Y’all should react to “1Train” as a throwback
Big fan of how you went back into the rappers older discography - It'd be cool if we saw more of this stuff! Or finding their old hidden gems
We NEED to see Keishas Song
They need to drop that Joint album. I still got hopes they will one day
This was very cool. I'd love you guys to go back (way back) & do some classic hip hop reviews & reflect on it with older wiser heads.
"I'm not going to sugar coat it, I'ma give you straight". Sugar can give you diabetes and you'd die from diabetes because things are sugar coated. He is going to save us the hard way by telling us straight and not sugar coating.

But also when you moonwalk the feet don't leave the ground, so the landmine won't blow up. In essence, he wants to blow up soon while making it look easy (gliding) to others who can't see the danger he's gliding over.
