Doing the Lord's work
I'll always stand by this being Kendrick's best album.. The hunger, the catchiness, the concept, the beats, the hooks, the rhymes, all of it.
The best part about Dot........EVERY Kendrick album is his best album (to me).
I have this deep love for every single Kendrick album that makes me want to call it the best album of all time... But the you remember that there are 4 more of these....
W
The hunger on here was so captivating plus his pen was on 🔥 and the theme and subject matter was dope..dropping gems 💎
Agreed. I think it’s only gotten stronger with age
i love how Rigamortis speaks to you,
-"Oh he waste no time"
-"Yessir"
-"Thats the fastest i heard him rap"
-"Fosho"
Yes, such profound words. Lmao 😂
I can't tell you how fkn much I respect you guys for including spiteful chant, shit slaps and no one ever reacts to it cus it's not on Spotify
💯💯💯
I was about comment the same thing, most other people would’ve left it off
frrrr
And it’s the best song smh lol
@@directorsir4343 hiiipower>>
I saw Kendrick perform at SXSW in Austin a little after this album dropped.. there was probably 60 people there to see him but he killed it.. then a year later GKMC had dropped and he was performing at SXSW in front of thousands. What a difference a year makes.
Yup man I remember watching a TDE show which was Kendrick Lamar school boy Q and there was like 20 people there in 2009, then I went to his show at the forem in Inglewood and it was sold out the difference! K-dot is goated
Section 80 is super super underrated, I listen to almost all the songs on this album still all the time- hiiipower and Keisha’s song might even be in my top 10 Kendrick songs of all time
The spiteful chant gotta be the most underrated Kendrick track
Genuinely, it’s so good
“Imma take his wrist and BREAK IT”
The Q feature
The “and not enough HOOOES” background voices in the chorus
The Alori Joh outro
Craziest part is I don’t even think it’s top 5 on the album
Ab-Soul’s Outro is my favorite track off this project. Kendrick and Ab brought so much energy and the instrumental is GOD tier.
While we're on the topic of TDE, I'm gonna drop my vote for Cilvia Demo - Isaiah Rashad and Control System - Ab-Soul
Wish they rapped on more songs together I feel like they think similarly about the world so they’d bounce off each other well
They aint ready for Control System
Sickkk fucking recommendations. Those two and this one are my top 3 TDE albums all time..
@@nickogs2990god damn right, hope they listen to it. The Book of Soul destroyed me on first listen after knowing the context
Thank you for acknowledging Terrace Martin!! Such an unsung legend, and one of the biggest brains behind a lot of Kendrick’s best production.
Section .80 is what got me into Kendrick in 2011 when i was stationed in Sicily. This is very nostalgic for me
Bro I was in Rome for a few days when this dropped. Walking around the city blasting this on my Ipod… the perfect soundtrack for my trip. The nostalgia
Such an amazing album. Definitely deserves to be talked about more within Kendrick's discography 🔥
This album really shaped the way I viewed music and the reason why imma always love Kendrick. 2012 I graduated from high school started going to a HBCU, dealing with life and at the time a big stoner. I used to always vibe out with this albumn. It’s crazy how much things change in 10-11 years
A few suggestions to consider
Rhapsody - Eve
Isaiah Rashad - The sun's tirade
Kendrick lamar - untitled album
Thanks for your consideration and keep up the good work 👍🏾
on topic of isiah rashad, please do civilia demo!!!
Yeah idk how we ain’t get no ZayWop yet 😭😭
Isiah Rashad is a MUST
Isaiah rashad please!!!
I would pick Lailas Wisdom over Eve for a Rapsody introduction
53:10 - Ab-Soul's Outro (as well as Kendrick Lamar's Interlude) is an homage to Gridlock'd and the movie's end piece from Eight Mile Road's (2Pac) song "Life is a Traffic Jam"
The girl who sings in the last song hiiipower was at the time, Ab-Souls girlfriend and she committed suicide by jumping off a tower not too long after this album came out. RIP Alori Joh
probably my second favorite kdot project. it just feels so nostalgic and raw. glad to see this reaction. hope we see untitled unmastered too
Heavy on the nostalgia first heard this album in 2012. I’m from Compton too I was like 12 when I heard it. All his albums are part of my adolescence and shaped me into the person I am
We need that...
Freddie Gibbs - Pinata!!!
Or Freddie
Or Freddie
@bboyenzoIL I like that one but I don't think it's something a older cat would like on first listen
I am all for the pinata reaction! yo yall gotta hop on that one family!
big facts, one of the best gangster rap albums of all time
this will always be my favorite kendrick album, I cant say its the best because all of his are so good, but this album back in 2011 was on repeat at all times in high school he will always be my favorite rapper
This and Overly Dedicated will always be a nostalgic gem for me. Growing up around 80’s and 90’s classics then hearing this when it dropped brought back all those feelings of the past
Keishas Song is what got me into Kendrick
Father son bonding over old Kdot albums is one of my favorite things I just discovered
dope reaction as usual! RIP Ash Riser on Keishas song and Ronald Reagan Era.
Another timeless record! Dope reaction as always! Since y’all are going back, the Kendrick Lamar EP is definitely worth a listen for your Pops
this is such an unbelievable fucking album. adhd. no makeup. tammy’s song. chapter six. poe mans dreams. keisha’s song.kush & corinthians
yall genuine asl, God bless
Thank you!!! Such an incredible album all the way through
Rip to Alori Joh who leaped from a water tower shortly after they filmed the music video....I remember people thought it was a sacrifice but I'm not sure if the reason was known...
Oh and she was ab-souls girl
The crazy thing is there's a interview with SZA and ScHoolboy Q and she said something like "If the fans don't enjoy her work she'll jump off something really high" 👀
I love this album so much my mom was bumping this all the time when it came out and as I got older ive revisited this album so many times and it’s def one of my fav kdot album(I was 4 when this came out😭)but still also love the channel
This album imo is very underrated. I actually think it’s his best right behind GKMC. Dre produced both, every joint is not only enjoyable to hear sonically on its own, but deeper and rich when you listen to the whole album. Dude was a genius.
Bro go look at the credits for both those albums. Dre barely did anything
😳Naaahhhh....i know you wasnt listening to Easy E and think you was listening to Kendrick🤣🤣🤣🤣Kendrick, literally has not a single song released, that Dre produced. He only makes 2 appearances in Kendricks entired catalog, and thats are a featured rapper, on "The recipe" and "compton." 💀 The vast majority of Kendricks music, is produced by Soundwave
I just think it’s weird that his first album could be the best. You don’t think he’s grown at all since then? People do this too much its all nostalgia.
Lmfao who are these dudes who are out here claiming Dre has anything to do with Kendricks shit. Lowkey think Dre got bots out here on some of these videos because anyone who knows, knows that Dre didnt have shit to do with this album.
there’s a lot wrong with this… wdym dre produced both 😭
Jamming with y'all is one of the best parts of my week
Made my night this is so Fire y’all’s reaction awesome thanks for everything gang
Finally!!!! I’ve listened to this album so many time after finding your page and was like how is this album not on there!!!! But now it is!
Still my favorite Kendrick album, it’s exactly what I want hip hop to sound like.
Finally! I was always thinking since the early days of this channel with GKMC and TPAB that section.80 is the absolute perfect album for pops
Kendrick is my favorite artist so obviously I love all his albums in their own way and this one is so under the radar for even most Kendrick fans ❤ yall
I love this album so much
Love this album!!!
Fantastic reaction guys one of my favorite Kendrick albums
Section 80 my favorite Kendrick project on release obv and to this day. Got my iPod when I turned 6 and it released the same day so I downloaded the whole thing off iTunes.
Love seeing Dad reading the ads!
Ab-soul’s outro is peak perfection *chef’s kiss*
in an era full of timeless mixtapes THIS is the pinnacle fr
i love the beats and sounds of this album so underrated
Pops is gonna love this one
Glad y’all reacted to this underrated MASTERPIECE. 💯 Born legend came out the gate pulling NO punches with this album! 💿🔥
Big love from Slovakia guys ❤️ Love watching these videos cuz it feel like listening to my favorite music with my boy and his cool pops
Much luv fam
1:00:21 lol when he says, “everybody put three fingers in the air” he is referencing Katniss Everdeen from Hunger Games. It’s more symbolism about standing together. lol got to use your three middle fingers
Top 3 project from Kendrick to me ngl
Lesss goooo this will be great
Hope you guys plan to react to Overly Dedicated, I feel like its such an underrated album because most people don't even know about it but its still a great listen.
I agree man
Shit even the Kendrick Lamar EP has a few really great tracks like Celebration
Agreed he should react to overly dedicated. Definitely one of my favs
P&P 1.5 🔥🔥
Haaaaaaa I'M SO EXCITED for this one!! It's my personal favorite album by Kendrick. I'm not saying it's the best, I'm saying it's MY little gem❤
Wow how time flies
**Long Post Warning**
Keisha’s Song was my introduction to Kendrick, and I was in love from that moment forward. The song was his take on 2Pac- Brenda’s Got A Baby, which he references in Keisha’s Song. Kendrick has mentioned that he felt like Pac’s “offspring” in rap, so this song only made sense for him to make. This thought led to him adding Pac to TPAB and even almost calling the album TuPAC (To Pimp A Caterpillar). ALSO, in Keisha’s Song, when he mentions sitting his sister down and pressing play to listen to what he wrote, that was his way of warning her of the dangers of this world. Fast forward to “U” on TPAB, Kendrick is blaming himself for preaching to the world while his little sister still fell victim to teenage pregnancy. The character Keisha within the track was a real person, and the story was something he heard about in this hometown. Kendrick later referenced this story again in “Sing About Me.” Keisha’s sister was also a prostitute, and that’s why Kendrick wrote from the sister’s perspective about being upset that he would put her story out to the world. He’s a literal genius! Section.80 is one of my favs because everything he created after it was just an extension of what was introduced on that album.
Great review! Love y’all! When coloring book coming tho??
Her Vice and her Pain always bring me to tears it's like hearing the sadest movie in the world
Seeing pops vibe out to kush & Corinthians was cool
man theres so many albums i want you guys to react to like Westside Connection, ice cube, Compton album from the movie many more
Finally need you to do every Views next bro please such a extremely underrated album
great choice
Kush & Corinthians is one of Kendrick’s BEST songs he’s ever made
I LOVE the super layered poetic shit so much
fucking best fucking album also i love your videos
Damn I was in HS when this was released lol. Section 80 was my first introduction to kdot and another favorite of my, Ab Soul. Thanks for bringing back thos memories, also Pops definitely have to check out Ab soul ✌🏾
This was his first album!
Freddie Gibbs - Bandana I know pops would love that.
Ab-Soul- Control System
This was the first Kendrick album I heard. Actually idk if it’s a mandela effect but I remember downloading this as a mixtape from datpiff. I always thought it was a mixtape until a few years ago I read that it was his debut album. Either way it’s my favorite by Kendrick 🔥
Please next time do "Longterm mentality: Ab Soul". This is dope!!. Shout out from Joburg South Africa
One of the greatest rap albums ever!! So underrated I personally like this album more than gkmc and I love that album but this album changed my perspective on life and kinda changed my life…
This is the album that put me on Kendrick. It’s so good, and a must listen for any kdot fan. Also, I’ve been going through Ye’s discography…and you may be right man, he’s got a lot of great albums.
That Ash Riser's intro on " Ronal Reagan Era" was something else.
As is english is not my native language, i had to take this projet as homework in order to gather all the knowledge dropped.
It's actually crazy that Kendrick storytelling is not enough considered. The projet introduced characters like :
- Keisha whom sister died in Sing About Me's 2nd verse. Also she could be Brenda's Baby.
- We could also ad Kendrick's sister, who has a daugher involved on YAH.
- I will not forget my man Johnny from The Kendrick Lamar EP, the main protagonist of XXX.
I still wonder why Kendrick dropped the all Hiii Power's movement after this joint. It is one of his missed promises, like Sing About Me Part. 2 videoclip we never had.
fire
you guys should react to overly dedicated by kendrick too! mixtape so fire
you guys gotta do a Dangelo reaction
i know pops would love the neosoul vibes
Best channel of reaction
I was at the Travis Scott concert last night in Tulsa Oklahoma, teezo opened up the show he was literally 5 feet in front of me I didn’t know it was him until he ran on stage 😅 I lost my voice in the first 3 mins 🤣
Damn the into is so smooth with Sr
React to Mick Jenkins - The Patience
This one is a Masterpiece! 10 out of 10
You should listen to "untitled" by Kendrick Lamar aswell... I believe it's a collection of Kendrick's unfinished or throwaway songs but honestly there's sum good shii in there. It's fire 🔥
About time
i would LOVE to see Big L’s debut album
This is my favorite Kendrick project.
this album has grown on me over the years, K dot does not miss, if this is his "worst" album...i mean cmon he is a legend lol
i feel like he would LOVE cilvia demo
Lets good! I've been waiting for this one. By the way i really think you should react to Beg For Mercy by G-Unit.
Funny you should say that… 🤔
@@BridgingTheGapYTYeah that's prolly my favorite album of the early 2000s
Spiteful chant hits so hard
"gather round.." "we gathered"
Wish I could listen to this album for the first time again.
Would love to see Food and Liquor - Lupe or Blank Face - ScHoolboy Q
My favourite Kendrick project
My favorite kdot album
Fun fact the “life is a traffic jam” part on Ab-Soul’s outro is reference to 2Pac’s character in the movie Gridlock’d
th-cam.com/video/IzyWtdNrK0Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WWDh1z7uRzy8c1X9
Yessir 🙏🏾💯
still my favorite kendrick album ngl
Sounwave said they recorded this on a half-broken distorted microphone and it still came out the greatest album of the 2010s. Amazing.
Edit: MixedByAli, not Sounwave
I agree. Kanye’s discography’s unmatched. Not only because of the how much he put out. But the uniqueness of it all. I believe he has an album for everyone and all generations. Rap, pop, trap, dance, experimental, r&b, and gospel.
To me, he’sin like a Jay Z, Travis Scott, (sports reference) Tim Duncan kinda tier tho… He always been at the top and respected as a top artist… but only his die hard fans ever considered him #1 or really Stan his albums like that…
Commenting on every video till y’all react to coloring book
So hard to pick a fav Kendrick album but this one hits different w Ronald Reagan, spiteful chant, Keisha song, chapter 6, poe man’s dream, just hit after hit
Yall gotta listen to Smino!
I remember when this came out on DatPiff I was like 10 or 11
Listen to the black hippy songs if he wants more ab soul and Kendrick. This album always been underrated
I love hearing a fresh old heads opinion on this newer stuff
I remember when this came out and I heard the Marcus camby bar I about died lol. Why’d he have to disrespect that man’s whole existence in basketball like that 😂😂
