Disney so desperate
God you people are actually morons.
Desperate was them trying to make every stupid movie, D+ show, and holiday special that appealed to every special interest group they didn't get enough money from in the past... and who cares if they ruined and trashed all the story canon and plot inconsistencies? And hey with a special effects budget of a high-school lunch menu for some of these shows, how could they go wrong? Thankfully audiences were willing to slap them in the face with low box office results and tons of online complaints to turn them away from this nonsense in the future... I can't tell you how funny and needed it was to have Deadpool making CONSTANT reference to how crappy Disney has become in the past few years. :)
The fact he died so epically and is a villain in another reality could play out perfectly with Doom’s promises for a safe world, despite it being under his command. I see a suit of armor around the globe…
Is Disney getting too desperate, they have to call RDJ back to fix their Marvel franchise?

@@BoosieBraun-q5s Yes he did. He voiced the character, but the character was designed through CGI.
Yes they should have
One word: desperation
I mean Hugh died peacefully as Wolverine still came back as another version of Wolverine
Chris retired and passed the shield peacefully yet came back as totally different Human Torch
Robert sacrificed himself for the whole universe, broke everyone’s heart, now came back as Victor von Doom
If this continues, whenever a character dies, we will no longer care. Hence will kill the franchise in a long run
You just described two characters who didn’t come back 😂
Tbf, with Chris Evans, he was in DP+W purely as a joke that spouted some exposition. He didn't really come back to play a new character, he really came back just to trick the audience, talk about the villain, and then die gruesomely, so I think he had more of a cameo than an actual return.
Yeah but Hugh is playing a variant of the SAME character. So that’s not a visual distraction.
Chris Evans could be Captain America with ease because no one cared for The Fantastic Four films. His Johnny Storm wasn’t a standout role. Sadly, the whole project was forgettable.
I had hope for this new cast; until this CORNY reveal.

this is absolutely terrible and a waste of Dr. Doom. I hate when they act like there’s no other actors out there. if they wanted to bring him back as a villain, they should’ve brought him back as superior Iron Man, simple and straight. this is how you kill Marvel stupid ass decisions like this again. I guess Tom Holland will come back as Loki necks, right? Jesus Christ. This is not that hard yet they keep screwing it up over and over again. Super disappointing after the success of Deadpool. Wanna know why Deadpool did well because they stuck to the majority of the actual source material. Here we are again. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. Marvel insane. Stop messing around too much. It's the Multiverse What-if story of when Dr.Doom swapped minds with Tony to take over his fathers company in the first step to world domination.

Apart from Sherlock and Tropic Thunder, I haven't really heard him speak all that differently to his normal voice. No matter the pitch or tone he uses, I can still hear it's him. Similar intense stare throughout his roles also. This is all perfectly fine as many actors retain a bit of themselves in a role.
He'll really need to consider changing everything the ground up, otherwise we'll be thinking that's Tony Stark as Dr Doom.
RDJ has been through it in the past. I am so glad to see him moving forward with all of his positivity. I also think he will do an amazing job as Doom.🍻✌
They can still salvage it - if he's a stark variant gone bad when he's defeated the real Dr. Doom appears and gives the "A lesser existence such as yours Stark is unfit to bear the name of DOOM..." or something like that...but they won't so it's screwed.

Funny thing is I don't miss Tony Stark at all. I just miss the consistency in writing quality. I love the direction the franchise is going but they have made some really bad choices. Getting Taiki Waititi to direct Thor 3 was definitely one of them. Making the Marvels for an audience who don't watch superhero movies just because people tried to say it was sexist not to... also a bad choice. Great choice, awesome idea...Congratulations
Just imagine if Tony Stark never had his hero moment in the cave in the first Iron Man. So instead of him building the first Iron Man suit and starting his hero journey he broke bad instead. The smartest person in the MCU and he goes the villain route. I think this has huge potential if they do it right. Plus just imagine Peter Looking at Tony but it's not Tony and he wants to destroy everything. The possibilities are endless if you think about it.
They really fumbled the bag with this one. If you wanted to say “we’re out of ideas” without saying it, this is how you do it.
LOL at people assuming this is "THE DR DOOM" Its the multiverse , its a Doom variant. Von Doom proper will still be able to pop up in fantastic 4 movies.

Having RDJ playing Doom is BRILLIANT!!!
Yes!
This is just so perfect
I don't don't he will be the same charismatic character as Tony was. I think RDJ picked Dr Doom to be able to do the opposite. To broaden his acting range.
Makes Tony’s death meh now…
Doom in the comics never even shows his face because of the scares on his face, that’s why he wears his mask and NEVER takes it off. He will most likely not be tied to tony stark.
With RDJ playing Doom, its gonna be sick. Can't wait.
This is epic casting! Can’t believe they got him inside the MCU again!!! Wooooo
Great move. To me RDJ is the backbone of the Avenger world and movies. He is an awesome actor and it would not be the same without him. It will be interesting to see him as a bad guy. He will NAIL the role for sure.
Well, does go with the Iron man song. "Heavy boots of lead, fills his victims full of dread", "Kills the people he once saved". Now, wether or not he gets "turned to steel in the great magnetic field" is to be seen.
I love this news. No one else would’ve made sense as Dr Doom
They put RDJ just for saving the Marvel boat! Should be fair to choose anybody else. RDJ will always be Ironman in our hearts!
