This is the fastest way to do it. For every good video like this, there are 20 showing you the hard, slow method. You can usually feel that it is working before you put it back on by squeezing the lever while feeling the pressure at the slave.
The Ktm/husky dragging issue is fixed by adding another .05mm washer to the push rod pin in the center of the clutch plates. Adds more pressure, making your lever not sloppy and more pressure for the push rod to disengage clutch.
Nope wasn't clutch basket thankfully. The bike had an hour on the motor but was sitting for 2 years.. Not sure why, but the slave decided to go on first hour of riding it.. just unfortunate, and I guess quite common with this bike.
Hey Robby, I grew up in Niagara but currently live in Kitchener. Just purchased a house in Font Hill though! So I guess I’ll be from Niagara again haha
It should be a closed system that doesn’t leak out; correct. If you have a leak then you’ll lose fluid, which in turn will stop the slave from doing what it’s supposed to do and you’ll have clutch issues.
Yep, this ended up working. I just had to bleed it a little more and then add some more fluid. It was a lot more process than just doing it with a bleeder, but, it worked.
What seal specifically? You can always check manual and if it’s not there order directly through KTM. Otherwise, can’t help you as I don’t know what you’re referring to.
When it comes to hydraulic clutched u need mineral oil like magura blood and to bleed the clutch’s u gotta reverse bleed them which is basically when u get a saring with a hose put it on the bleeder and u push the fluidez from the bottom up basically

Where specifically I mean you know a video that shows this?
@@ethermal1did you find this out?

What website did you use to cross reference parts Thanks
Thanks this helped my fix my bike
Glad to hear!
I pulled that long pin out when I took case off can I just push back in??
I have the same problem, with the clutch full engaged it dragging. I have a 2010 KTM 250 SX-F, I hope is not the clutch basket.

Same as me bro anyway you know how to fix it ? 😂
I’m the exact same problem with my ktm 2010
@@snyderhaus common problem with the maguras slaves, if I remember correctly it was some poor machining
You from Niagara I seen the wellend canal in the start of your video

So the fluid should be held in that slave cylinder right? And not leak into the case?

Did u fix it or nah

Planning to buy ktm sx85, but GPBIKES in Whitby and Peak power in Oakville dont have on stock, what is the difference between HUSQ vs KTM?
From my understanding there isn’t much! At least looking at schematics there isn’t..
I need help my ktm i bought the slave cylinder online I don’t a seal tho do you have one or am I good without one

Was the clutch dragging? I have a bad beat on my 17 ktm 85 and bled it and no fix
Yeah, pretty bad.. I even bled it etc and it kept doing it. A few times and it worked.
no gasket between the engine and the slave?
Nope, none initially or to be added
i have a paper gasket between engine and slave. do you think it will be ok without one? as mine has ripped apart during taking off slave.
@@korbynbell9135 if you can find a rubber o ring to be placed at the base you should be find but you need something
The hydraulics have an o ring seal between slave & cases😉👍🏼

You don’t need mineral fluid for every bike
Check the cap maguras that come on many of the husky take dot 5.1
Btw there is bleeder screw on piston side
10mil hex
what type is the slave sylinder?
Just a standard OEM one. I went with KTM though as the KTM and Husq are interchangeable / the same.
what ended up fixing it?
That did, I just had to bleed it a little more and get the bubbles up!
What kind of fluid did you use?
Just your standard motul break fluid
I did all this and my clutch won’t go in it goes half way and no more
Interesting, maybe too much compression or fluid. Though, that would be pretty hard to do.
@@snyderhaus thanks for the comment but it wasn’t that one of the o rings where broken
Glad to know what the issue was!
@@blaze3460 which o ring was it? i have the same problem
