i brought a bottle (glass) of Inca Kola back from Peru in 2001. It lost it's yellow color after a couple of years. I do remember it tasting like bubble gum
casi me da un infarto cuando vi el costo de la papa rellena y la causa, pero de todas maneras debo recordar que lo comieron en un restaurante de lujo, me encanto el video, gracias por venir a mi pais, un abrazo grande
Your video has great quality. They chose the places very well to have a good first impression of the meals and a very good list. Im very happy that you enjoyed the delicious food of my country
Welcome to my country. Amazing video. There are nice people, places to meet and the best # 1 Gastronomy in the World around 500 dishes minimum and more of thounsand maximun so delicious.Keep it up! Enjoying Peru.
Hello, thanks for your video about Lima. I was born and raised here . The fish in your ceviche or any kind of seafood have been caught same day at 5am. One of the valid reason for gringos having some kind of reticense with ceviche in Peru ( before tasting it ) is previous experience with frozen fish, where the texture, the flavor and smell radically changes. On the other side here, It is totally fresh, just adding a thin layer of crushed ice on the top. It arrives at the cevicheria (restaurant) at about 8am and cook at 12am / 3pm according to the demand. This is done all year around in all the coast of Peru during the 365 days. We can guilt Humboldt Current for this privilege. 😄
Right it on guys!. Have your wonderfull time, fun, and enjoying my country. There are a lot places to meet. Peru is so beautifull at all (sea, sierra and amazon jungle).
Welcome to my country! You guys are so sweet, This is my country and I love living here. I hope you have a great trip and I hope you have a great day. Thank you so much for sharing this vlog with us, I'm from Peru and Have a great weekend.
Wow! One of the best food videos I've ever seen! Great job! Again .... looking forward to the next video. Loved how you worked through the bees. I also liked how you mixed it up with different food places/ different experiences. 😊❤
Hi, I'm peruvian, I really enjoyed your video, I'm very grateful you really took the time to investigate the best places to eat each of the dishes you tried. TH-camrs that come to Perú usually eat at crappy places because they just check in tripadvisor or ask some tour guide. I'm looking forward for your next Perú videos, try to go to Arequipa and any northern city like Piura or Chiclayo to have amazing food, even better than in Lima in some cases. Let me recomend you some restaurants for you to try in Lima: Cumpa, Cantarana, Osaka (you need to try also peruvian japanese fusion), and for desserts try Maga or Tentaciones. Have fun!

Everything looks delicious and impeccable, just seeing Peruvian cuisine makes my mouth water, very soon I will go to Peru and be able to eat all the gastronomy 🤤
You guys really did a bang up job with the food tour. The thing about Peru is the great food and one could continue with all kinds of dishes and treats over there. The giant corn throws you back at first and it is so good. I took some seeds and purple corn seeds home to grow. They sprouted but was an epic failure with producing anything. My wife can make couca but it’s not the same as Peru since the ingredients are so much better. Aqua Caliente has some great food stops and especially Arequipa, there you will find a candy factory there that is way better than Sees. Arequipa also has this cheese ice cream which is so good and I’ve only seen it there.
We tried to make a bunch of Peruvian dishes for our family when we got home. Some were better than others 😂 causa turned out pretty good Thanks for watching!
A+K Awesome video. It shows that you did your homework because your hit the right restaurants and had the most popular dishes. Lucuma and Cherimoya are used for making desserts like cheesecakes, mousses, ice cream, milkshakes, etc. 😊

There are some dishes in Chifa with the same name as a Chinese food, but they are made in different way. The wanton soup for example has more meat, eggs, vegetables, and the broth taste a little bit different than the Chinese one, .Chaufa is very similar to the Cantonese version of fried rise...the Peruvian has more flavor in my opinion. Chifa has a lot of dishes that they don't exist in China, but of course they look Chinese.
@@Kevin-oj2uo it's not inspired....Chinese migrated to Peru more than 170 years ago and the cultures were mixed...for example in Peru we say "kion" for ginger and "Siyao" for soy sauce....those words come from China....in every Peruvian house you will find Siyao and kion.

Inca Kola is usually drank alongside Peruvian dishes, it complements the food. While you can drink water, Coca Cola or even a beer while having a Peruvian dish, somehow Inca Kola adds that magical touch that is so revered by Peruvians.

We always think of Europe or travelling the United States or are even our own country but this is really amazing. He made me very hungry. Very very delicious. What a beautiful places. I heard the same things growing up. We spent 10 days in Peru about 5 years ago and trust me, a lot of the people are still living in very bad conditions. The touristy parts of Lima don't show it, but once you get out into the suburbs of Lima or out of Lima totally and into the mountains, the poverty is still very much real. But the people are proud of what they have, work hard for it, love the tourists and are incredibly friendly so definitely do visit! We went with Tauck but Intrepid also do great tours there too. I've travelled extensively and Peru is one of the places I want to go back to so bad!

Yes you can keep the olives 😂 The areas we visited in Lima were nice, but as Maureen commented, yes there are definitely areas with lots of poverty and poor living conditions. But at the same time the people are very friendly, welcoming, and proud!
It really shows you did your research, as a Peruvian, I can say that you went to the right places. Anticuchos Bran it’s not very well known for tourists but has one of the best anticuchos in the country, the same with chifa Titi. I’m very pleased, most videos about food don’t show these restaurants.
I have been in Lima. I did not do Food tour, but went to two amazing museums. The Gold museum is incredible! I feel like pizza is also authentic Peruvian food. It was literally everywhere in that country and not just the tourist areas. There's no way you guys didn't eat pizza before leaving Peru 😂
Your guide lied, and many peruvians lied about "chifa" (or I'm going to assume they don't know). Chifa is essentially Chinese food (cantonese), lots of dishes are still being prepared nowadays in Hong kong. Just because you change an ingredient doesn't make it peruvian. I asked once a peruvian, what would you say if people in Portugal use a local chillie instead of "aji amarillo" to make causa ans they present it as Portuguese food, the person became angry lol.
ISOLINA committed a sacrilege with CAUSA LIMEÑA, it never has tomatoes, traditionally this dish did not have avocado, but recently thanks to the "chefs" they modified it (I don't know if for better or worse) and the price is excessive for an entree S/ 49, the same goes for PAPA RELLENA. Both dishes are very homemade that are prepared in most Peruvian homes. ISOLINA is an extremely expensive place. I have tried excellent Creole dishes, in also exclusive places, for less price, they are abusive. ha ha ha in the Picarones, they don't eat the bees. Chancaca is the juice of sugar cane solidified by evaporating all the water. That portion of Mazamorra Morada with Arroz Con Leche, throughout Lima costs from S/3 to S/4; S/10 is too much in that tourist district, as they abuse. It's a shame that they only visit 3 districts of Greater Lima (which has more than 40 districts). Most of the true Lima residents live in the other districts.
We know there are other places you can get these foods cheaper. We wanted to go to a nicer restaurant. We know there are 43 districts in Lima. Every thing we read said that it was potentially unsafe to go anywhere but Miraflores, Barranco, San Isidro, and Centro Historico
So funny all North americans commenting Inca Kola tastes like bubble gum. By the way its like coca cola so not healthy at all😮. Should drink maracuya Juice, chicha or herbal tea we have very nice ones like emolientes 😊

Thanks for watching
I can't with the Bees...
Will you guys be visiting Cusco or the Nazca lines or Puma Punku?
Edit: Okay, I watched until the end and heard you say you're going to Cusco.
😋😋😋
🔥
I thought you guys have been state side for the past few years 5:14?
We’ve been based in the states but over the past few years we’ve been to Mexico, Vietnam, Singapore, Germany, Finland, Estonia, Denmark, Sweden, and Canada! Along with our content in the US
🇵🇪👑🥇🥗🍸
I feel like pizza is also authentic Peruvian food. It was literally everywhere in that country and not just the tourist areas. There's no way you guys didn't eat pizza before leaving Peru 😂
Oh we had a good amount of pizza! 😂 even lomo saltado pizza!!
Pizza is not authentic peruvian food but we love it, that's why there is a lot of "Pizzerias and Trattorias".
I have to watch again. I didn't get the guinea pig part folks are referring. Everything so different.
It’s in our next video 😃
Peru is one of the safest countries in Latam and safer than some European countries like France or Spain.
Thanks for sharing!
No cuy? I couldn’t either!
Stay tuned for the next video 😃
Bee picarones😂
😂
I figure you are "Calorie -ing" up in preparation for visit to Machu Pichu.
Yes and the other two tough treks!
Passing up a pisco sour to have an Inca Kola is the equivalent of passing up Heaven to go to Hell.
As mentioned in the video, we don’t drink 😃
@ Yeah, I know. But the metaphor still stands. 😀
Más respeto con los picarones no los pongan en el piso.
I’m not sure what you’re referring to
Tranquilo que no están haciendo nada malo, solo le temen a las abejas. 🤷
Anticuchos with fork and knife? Is like eating bbq ribs or pizza with fork and knife
Whoops
Your guide lied, and many peruvians lied about "chifa" (or I'm going to assume they don't know). Chifa is essentially Chinese food (cantonese), lots of dishes are still being prepared nowadays in Hong kong. Just because you change an ingredient doesn't make it peruvian.
I asked once a peruvian, what would you say if people in Portugal use a local chillie instead of "aji amarillo" to make causa ans they present it as Portuguese food, the person became angry lol.
Thanks for sharing your perspective
49 for a causa and papa rellena is wayyyyyyyyy to expensive!!!!!!!!! Like 5 times more than normal, this restaurants 🤦
We know there are plenty of places you can get all of these dishes cheaper but we wanted to go to a nicer restaurant
@@AdventuresofAplusK well yeah, here in Perú are all kind for every budget, that's the good think
We really enjoyed emoliente! We didn't think Inca Kola would be healthy, it's a soda
