We are going to Peru (starting in Lima) in April. I just love it when I find videos from y’all in places where I will be going in the future. Thank you! I can’t wait to try all the food and drinks there!
Welcome to my country! You guys are so sweet, This is my country and I love living here. I hope you have a great trip and I hope you have a great day. Thank you so much for sharing this vlog with us, I'm from Peru and Have a great weekend.
i brought a bottle (glass) of Inca Kola back from Peru in 2001. It lost it's yellow color after a couple of years. I do remember it tasting like bubble gum
Hello, thanks for your video about Lima. I was born and raised here . The fish in your ceviche or any kind of seafood have been caught same day at 5am. One of the valid reason for gringos having some kind of reticense with ceviche in Peru ( before tasting it ) is previous experience with frozen fish, where the texture, the flavor and smell radically changes. On the other side here, It is totally fresh, just adding a thin layer of crushed ice on the top. It arrives at the cevicheria (restaurant) at about 8am and cook at 12am / 3pm according to the demand. This is done all year around in all the coast of Peru during the 365 days. We can guilt Humboldt Current for this privilege. 😄
Right it on guys!. Have your wonderfull time, fun, and enjoying my country. There are a lot places to meet. Peru is so beautifull at all (sea, sierra and amazon jungle).
Your video has great quality. They chose the places very well to have a good first impression of the meals and a very good list. Im very happy that you enjoyed the delicious food of my country
Wow! One of the best food videos I've ever seen! Great job! Again .... looking forward to the next video. Loved how you worked through the bees. I also liked how you mixed it up with different food places/ different experiences. 😊❤
Awesome video as always! Great range of foods. I really like Peruvian chicken. I found a recipe and have made it quite a bit. I even have made a Peruvian thanksgiving turkey.
I love the positive vibe, puts a smile on my face. And very well researched guys, well done, not like every other lima tourist video, you guys actually chose some great food spots consistently. Al toke pez has the best arroz con mariscos.
You guys really did a bang up job with the food tour. The thing about Peru is the great food and one could continue with all kinds of dishes and treats over there. The giant corn throws you back at first and it is so good. I took some seeds and purple corn seeds home to grow. They sprouted but was an epic failure with producing anything. My wife can make couca but it’s not the same as Peru since the ingredients are so much better. Aqua Caliente has some great food stops and especially Arequipa, there you will find a candy factory there that is way better than Sees. Arequipa also has this cheese ice cream which is so good and I’ve only seen it there.
We tried to make a bunch of Peruvian dishes for our family when we got home. Some were better than others 😂 causa turned out pretty good Thanks for watching!
Hi, I'm peruvian, I really enjoyed your video, I'm very grateful you really took the time to investigate the best places to eat each of the dishes you tried. TH-camrs that come to Perú usually eat at crappy places because they just check in tripadvisor or ask some tour guide. I'm looking forward for your next Perú videos, try to go to Arequipa and any northern city like Piura or Chiclayo to have amazing food, even better than in Lima in some cases. Let me recomend you some restaurants for you to try in Lima: Cumpa, Cantarana, Osaka (you need to try also peruvian japanese fusion), and for desserts try Maga or Tentaciones. Have fun!
Impressive food reviews. You research and seek out cultural food experiences the same way I do and with such gusto! I’ll be rewatching your Merida vids before I travel there in January. Thank you.

Everything looks delicious and impeccable, just seeing Peruvian cuisine makes my mouth water, very soon I will go to Peru and be able to eat all the gastronomy 🤤

Yes we know you can find these dishes for cheaper else where, but we wanted to go to those places for their quality and atmosphere. Thanks and thanks for watching
Don't be afraid of the guinea pig. It really is good and tasted like the dark meat of chickens to me. So glad you all are having fun, the food and people make Peru one of my favorite places I've ever been!

Food is our FAV too! great job, fried anything is good, ceviche or poke, both are great! I had many guinea pigs as pets when I was a kid, I don't think I could eat them.
It really shows you did your research, as a Peruvian, I can say that you went to the right places. Anticuchos Bran it’s not very well known for tourists but has one of the best anticuchos in the country, the same with chifa Titi. I’m very pleased, most videos about food don’t show these restaurants.
So, so, so love your video so much 😍😍😍 jealous of not being able to taste that food (I am Peruvian living in Phoenix, AZ). For street food like anticuchos, picarones, pancita, choncholi, rachi, etc. I would recommend the neighborhood named Lince, it’s sort of in between Miraflores and Centro Historico, you will most likely find lines of people on those stands which is a good sign that the food is good 🤘 Hope you guys had the opportunity to try “arroz con pollo”, one of my all time favorite food 💪🤘 So glad you liked lucuma (addictive, isn’t it? 😂), ceviche, chifa, picarones, Inka Kola 🤘, and all the others 😎👍 Best wishes for your Cusco adventure 👍👍👍
As a Peruvian and a Limeño, I congratulate you guys because you have visited all the places I would recommend to a friend coming from abroad. After that, you can go to more hidden gems (talking about mercados or restaurants), but you already have a good and true experience of Peruvian cuisine. Additionally, if bees come near your honey or food, it means the food is very good; bees are pickier than all of us and are very clean hahaha! Good checklist!
Inca Kola is usually drank alongside Peruvian dishes, it complements the food. While you can drink water, Coca Cola or even a beer while having a Peruvian dish, somehow Inca Kola adds that magical touch that is so revered by Peruvians.
There are some dishes in Chifa with the same name as a Chinese food, but they are made in different way. The wanton soup for example has more meat, eggs, vegetables, and the broth taste a little bit different than the Chinese one, .Chaufa is very similar to the Cantonese version of fried rise...the Peruvian has more flavor in my opinion. Chifa has a lot of dishes that they don't exist in China, but of course they look Chinese.
@@Kevin-oj2uo it's not inspired....Chinese migrated to Peru more than 170 years ago and the cultures were mixed...for example in Peru we say "kion" for ginger and "Siyao" for soy sauce....those words come from China....in every Peruvian house you will find Siyao and kion.
For all foreigners, eat your lunch at the small restaurants called "menu" wich is soup or appetizer, the main dish and somethkng yo drink... they will be cheaper between 10 to 15 soles (depends on the location)
So you won’t eat olives, but you will eat a beef heart. 🙆♀️🙆♀️. 😂😂I’ll take the olives anytime thank you 😂😂😂Well, I am just blown away because I remember back in the day we would hear about people and how poor they were in Peru and we’d have to send money to them. It was always engrained at us at schools the poverty of Peru I guess it really has evolved and this looks amazing the food and we never thought of going to Peru ever ever as Canadians. We always think of Europe or travelling the United States or are even our own country but this is really amazing. He made me very hungry. Very very delicious. What a beautiful places. Thank you for sharing it.❤
I heard the same things growing up. We spent 10 days in Peru about 5 years ago and trust me, a lot of the people are still living in very bad conditions. The touristy parts of Lima don't show it, but once you get out into the suburbs of Lima or out of Lima totally and into the mountains, the poverty is still very much real. But the people are proud of what they have, work hard for it, love the tourists and are incredibly friendly so definitely do visit! We went with Tauck but Intrepid also do great tours there too. I've travelled extensively and Peru is one of the places I want to go back to so bad!
@@maureencathers341 well very interesting. I guess I didn’t know that it was just confusing because here we see a hotel and great food and I remember the poverty, but I would love to go too. Sounds good. Sounds really good. They are very nice people. I know a lot of Peruvian here in Canada and they are very hard-working and very humble people.❤
Yes you can keep the olives 😂 The areas we visited in Lima were nice, but as Maureen commented, yes there are definitely areas with lots of poverty and poor living conditions. But at the same time the people are very friendly, welcoming, and proud!

I have been in Lima. I did not do Food tour, but went to two amazing museums. The Gold museum is incredible! It has everything from history pieces from the military, mummies, ancient fabric found in tombs, incredibly erotic pottery and oh yeah, gold. Also the art museum, amazing art and historic pieces. Also went to Machi Pichu. That was beautiful and mind blowing.

We love Airalo and have used it on multiple trips. We would never promote a product or company that we don’t actually use and think is valuable. Over the last 6 years of this channel we have only had a handful of sponsors because we are extremely picky on who we will work with.
Inca Kola is made from a Peruvian herb called Yerba Luisa and it tastes much better from a glass bottle and if drunk to accompany Peruvian dishes. Coca Kola could not surpass the sales of Inca Kola in Peru so it bought 40% of the shares of Inka Cola.
Some of the places you tried are good but they are now overatted, you can find better quality and taste for cheaper. For anyone willing to try the best dessert and other street food like Great picarones, anticuchos etc, go to Lima central by plaza de armas, plaza chabuca Granda.👌🏼👌🏼🇵🇪❤️ thanks for sharing your experience !
Everyone has their favorites 😃 all of the places we shared in this video are highly rated and loved on Google. We shared where we went and we enjoyed everything immensely Thanks for watching
I feel like pizza is also authentic Peruvian food. It was literally everywhere in that country and not just the tourist areas. There's no way you guys didn't eat pizza before leaving Peru 😂

Thanks for sharing!
Will you guys be visiting Cusco or the Nazca lines or Puma Punku?
Edit: Okay, I watched until the end and heard you say you're going to Cusco.

We shared where we went and we enjoyed everything immensely
Thanks for watching

I feel like pizza is also authentic Peruvian food. It was literally everywhere in that country and not just the tourist areas. There's no way you guys didn't eat pizza before leaving Peru 😂
Oh we had a good amount of pizza! 😂 even lomo saltado pizza!!
Pizza is not authentic peruvian food but we love it, that's why there is a lot of "Pizzerias and Trattorias".
🇵🇪👑🥇🥗🍸
I love lacuma ice cream so freaking much. God I love it. I grew up on anticuchos, and love those too.
Ohhh, papa a la Huancaína is divine, yummy!
It was all sooooo good!
