    This is one of the best flight sim videos i've ever seen, this style of detailed video essays are never seen before in flightsim. i'd love to see a video of the QW 75 next

    Would love it if you did an episode on the Level-d 767. One of my absolute favorites in FSX before I upgraded to FS2020. Just got the FF767 for XP12 to relive that wonderful plane.

    I just found this channel and think that the idea behind its concept is genius. I think every Flightsim enthusiast would love to hear about forgotten Addons, Trivia and maybe even scandals/drama. I am an enthusiast for the better part of my life and have never seen a channel like this. I wish you all the best and tons of success.

      I would love to see more of it. The config tool hit me right in the feels. It was like seeing your first car, the one you sold 15 years ago, randomly go by you in traffic.

    this channel is so cool !! hope there will be an episode about the dreamfleet 737 and the 767 PIC. Loved the airbus PSS also, done a lot of longhauls in the 340 back in the days. thanks for your videos and sharing your knowledge about this era ! it's important to document this history or it will be forgotten, Early 2000's were the bootstarting years of the flightsim ecosystem we all know today.

    Lovely video! I miss the old FS9 days. So many developers both really good freeware and payware. Nowadays the whole fs market feels different.

    This config manager is bigger and better than some high priced payware aircraft config managers today the fact that you can choose the aircraft loadout winglets etc and those 2d panels are better than all of the rest.

    Absolutely brilliant! Loved everything about it, and the music was spot on. With so many new people coming into the hobby thanks to MSFS, and it's coming Xbox release, this is a great way to provide some insight into our great hobbies history. My main sim has always and still continues to be FS2004, even with XP11 and MSFS installed. Glad you started with this bird.

      Thank you! That is definitely the idea. I love and still regularly use much of the content I'll be showcasing on the channel. Thanks for watching and I hope you continue to enjoy future videos!

    I loved this video, to this day I still use my fs2004 and the dreamfleet 727 is one of the best 727 addons ever created in the world of simulation, too bad they never made a douglas DC-8 addon, it would have been incredible .

    This channel and series basis is absolutely amazing, there so many untold stores and interesting programs. I really hope this channel produces more of this content, there's really no one else doing this on TH-cam.
    Thanks for these, hopefully eventually we will get more videos than just the 2 on the channel.
    PSS and where they are now, PMDG MD11 copyright protection, Wilco/Feel there products, Ardvark AI and the "Ai Wars" of the fs2004 with popular freeware but controversial packages like SKAI, the first addon with a working weather radar for FS2004, the list is endless.
    Heck JUST focusing on Addon's and the features they brought to FS and all the firsts is an endless list. Everything from the freeware Russian TU payware quality aircraft to the Majestic Q400 that ran it's flight model outside of the lookup tables provided by the ESP based FS platforms to allow better modeling. Such interesting and endless stories and topics.
    This video was fantastic even touching on the historic Flight1 Wrapper system, such a well done video. The levelD 767 would fit amazingly in a series like this.
    Thank you so incredibly much for taking the time to make this video, I hope one day we see this channel continue to post content. Give me a holler if you ever need a hand!
    Flight sim history and nostalgia, especially that of which is based around the early and late 2000s is my specialty.

    This was one of my all-time favorite addons for FS2004. I remember it taking so long to plan every flight and set the aircraft up, all part of the 727 experience! There were rumors of an updated version for FSX which never saw the light of day unfortunately.

      I put a CIVA INS in it and flew around the Med. Good times. Particularly remember a a 727 into Jerusalem via an NDB approach I think, on IVAO. While a lot of children of the magenta line were scratching their heads, the 727 just went and landed like you're supposed to.

    Ah.. the whistling shit house (because of the window leaks and proximity to the forward lavatory), brings back a lot of fond memories. The windshield wipers sounded like a meshing of gears with no oil, so loud we used rain-X instead when the EPA banned RAINBOE rain repellent. Check essential, BATTERY SWITCH ON! That battery switch is a gotcha.

    Having gotten around to watching the RFP 747 I found it a pretty interesting compliment to this video. The RFP 747 looks and functionally while fine for the era and charming in a way are hopelessly outdated even with the most rose tinted of nostalgia glasses. The Dreamfleet 727 on the other hand honestly doesn't feel like a far cry from a lot of the aircraft made for FS2004 & early era FSX. And I say that as someone with no nostalgic attachment to this era in flight simming, so I think that says a lot about the caliber of work they pulled off here. I'm not sure if that was the intention when choosing to cover the RFP, but I think it's quite interesting compare and contrast of how much aircraft advanced during that timeframe.

    Fabulous video. And I also love the timeline of the best Addon Aircraft. I used to love flying the 727-100 with the Frontier livery. Thanks for making this video.

    Holy fucking shit, this brings me back to the 2000s. I remember the IFly 737, and this 727 were my first payware addon. Also, some of those sounds still hold up to todays standards lol, which is either really cool or really sad.

  • @SwatoddddSimulations

    I think some of the sounds are even better than the flyjsim 727

    I think 2004 century of flight does work on W11 22h2 it automatically installs directplay which is needed to install this.
    Will this add on work for century of flight version of fs2004?

    Interesting video! Hoping that "very long" flight model video shows up in my sub feed at some point too!
    If u got something else coming that's fine also.
    sort of unrelated but these older products really appeal to me aesthetically for some reason, not just flight sim but most games from ca 95-05 that attempt some sort of realistic visuals just look really tasty to me, jaggies and all. :^)

    Great video! How exactly did you fix the config manager on Windows 10? I get also an error message at start, but it does not mention which specific component would be missing. I have already installed and registered the files mentioned in the forum, also installed full VB6 runtimes, to no avail.

    I started with FSX and well, still am on FSX but id love to get into using FS2004 someday, if not just to see the changes between the two.
    Some of the payware got ported over as freeware, and it's a shame this 72 didn't as its one of my favorite aircraft and i would love to try this out

    While I still have FS2004 and DF727 on my disc, my main 727 is now FJS727 with flight dynamic mod (btw how could FJS messed up the flight dynamics so bad without that mod?), that said, I still sometimes miss the EFIS panel and old block Autopilot system found on the DF727.

    Great video! I am wondering if you used ORBX? I wish the Dreamfleet team would have been able to make a 727 for use in the FSX.

    • @FlightSimMuseumOfficial
      @FlightSimMuseumOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! A number of the ground textures are borrowed from my FSX install of ORBX to enhance FS9.
      I too wish they could have continued well into the FSX world and to today, it would've been awesome to see their 707 and DC-8 become reality.

    Which traffic addon do you have at 2:42?

    • @FlightSimMuseumOfficial
      @FlightSimMuseumOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว

      The traffic in my videos is custom compiled from a combination of my own AI paints, others paints, and flight plans from the 1998 AI Project available from the Retro AI proboards forum.

  • @SwatoddddSimulations
    @SwatoddddSimulations ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is there a fmc option for the 727 along with the newer modern avionics?

    • @FlightSimMuseumOfficial
      @FlightSimMuseumOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The DF 727 does not come with an FMC of any kind but you can add one to the panel using Ernie Alston's ISG gauges.

  • @SwatoddddSimulations
    @SwatoddddSimulations ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What sceneries did you use in this video?

  • @SwatoddddSimulations
    @SwatoddddSimulations 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Also how did you get the retro AI traffic?

    • @FlightSimMuseumOfficial
      @FlightSimMuseumOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with your comments on the config manager, the DF727 truly is one of the most robust total simulations of a product, even to this day and especially for the price as compared to the likes of PMDG or Captain Sim selling individual models today.
      My retro AI traffic is completely custom, much of it comes from the 1998 Project over on the Retro AI Proboards forum. Find us with a quick Google and enjoy decades worth of custom flight plans and paints! Right now there are several ongoing projects covering 1998, 1979, and dozens of individual plans covering many other years.

    Hello good. I am glad to see this video about 727 flight1 and it is one of the best fs2004 addon. I just installed it and when I run configuration manager I get the same error message that you see in your video. I have Windows 10 and I would like to know if there is a solution. Thank you very much

    There is a Captainsim 727 for FS2002/FS2004, I think it's the competitor of Dreamfleet 727. But i prefer Dreamfleet among Captainsim, the models are good, more option, detailed gauges and many more. I love that addon
