Awesome test Doug! It will do what you need in the long haul. But definitely an even cook would help. Cheers brother 🍻
Maybe not as even as Weber hoped for but not a big deal. You adjust to any griddle and how they heat. Thanks for watching.
Great demonstration Doug! Personally I don't want completely even heat across the whole griddle. The bread test says it all. Burgers look great.
The bread test did show it. I hope Weber watches the video because they really talk up the even heat on there griddles.
@@griddlecookeatandmore I agree, I have the 22" as well, and I have to basically keep the right burner all they way on low, and the left burner all they way up to get "even heating edge to edge". Without a temp gun, this griddle will be tough.
I just recieved mine 2 days ago. I did 2 coats of seasoning the first day on its original base. It took far too long and just like you the left side will not hit 500 degrees. Mind you I used a propane canister. 2nd day for the 2 more coats of seasoning I put the griddle in my weber spirit 3 burner. It seasoned far faster and more even heating. Also able to utilize and close the lid so it can season faster. It looks like the griddle is a perfect fit for my weber spirit 3 burner grill. Its pretty much identical to the size of the largest size little griddle brand that I use for my spirit. So its like a perfect griddle size to use with common sized propane grills. I'll be taking it with me camping this weekend. My family is requesting smash burger's.
It will turn out some killer smash burgers for sure. The top really holds the heat in. I can't wait to see how it does loaded up with a big breakfast.
@griddlecookeatandmore I'm wondering have you actually closed the lid to utilize cooking? I know it's non functional lid and it states not to but there's no rule written in stone that's say we can't 😆
Great tutorial Doug 😊 and to treat yourself with a smash burger afterwards 😊😊 great idea

I always need the Smash Burger treat after seasoning a new griddle. I can't wait to see your Stir fry video.
@griddlecookeatandmore Darrin has been editing it like crazy lol... I can't wait to see what you came up with either 😋😋 this Sunday mine goes up 😀
