Those eggs are just like I like 'em! You're not opening up the gas too fast or too far, are you? I have a Blackstone now, but I'm really considering this Camp Chef.
I did 4 coats of grape seed oil. The first time I used it after that I tried folding an omelette and it slid all over the place so I was happy.
I really wanted to just start cooking on it right away to see how a pre seasoned griddle is but I did one coat. I like to make smash burgers when they are new so they stick more.
Fantastic breakfast Doug! Kind of like the front drain for cooking. Heat definitely would be a bummer for steaks, but other than that nice machine. Great job! Have a fantastic 4th of July! Cheers 🍻
The front drain being all the way across really came into play with this cook. It's great because you don't have to move stuff around to clean an area of the griddle. I'm totally digging this thing. I am going to contact Camp Chef about the top end heat and see what they say. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video! I use to calibrate those infrared thermometers at a calibration lab. Most were plus / minus 20 degrees accuracy up to 800 degrees. So if you read say 500 it could be 480 or 520 degrees. If you took two of the thermometer's and take the reading then divide by two it might be close to real temp. And distance from griddle needs to be same. Basically people just need to learn the griddle and its ways.
I only use the thermometer for info on my videos. I never used a thermometer but I have a restaurant background. I bought the IR gun for my videos. It does provide interesting info. Thanks for watching.
I had problems with my gas grills not getting hot enough. I found out that I had to disconnect the line from the 20lb tank and reconnect. Sometimes i had to do this more than once. That took care of the problem. Never had that problem until they changed to the new hook up.
I've taken the tank of this griddle to use with another one multiple times. I was hoping by rotating the burner tubes that would help and it seemed to on the low end but the same high end temps. I might reach out to Camp Chef to see what they think. I could always swap out the regulator with a adjustable one. Thanks for watching.
Hey! I thought you said your wife was out of town?! Who’s eating all that delicious breakfast. Man, I’m not overly concerned about a griddle getting so hot. I got other grills for that. I love that freaking Camp Chef! Nice job buddy boy.
The Camp Chef is on sale.
Great video!
Thanks. I love this griddle.
I got my gridiron a few days ago and really love it so far.
I love mine too. The grease management system is what made me get one.
Thanks for the video!! What would one say as for picking a Gridiron vs a FLAT TOP 600? The Gridiron has more sq inches and is $150 cheaper, so i'm a little confused as to why the price difference between the two
I have never used the FTG 600 before. I think Camp Chef is making a move to compete with Blackstone in their price range. I would buy this griddle all day long over a comparable Blackstone. I love the grease management design. Reminds of restaurant griddles. I really didn't need this griddle since I have 7 or 8 other ones. It was the damn grease design that made me do it and having a TH-cam channel. I would 100 percent get the Gridiron.
@@griddlecookeatandmore Appreciate it!
