As much as I hated the character, I applaude Ed Speleers for his performance. He managed to deliver a villain with a soul and depth.

Just came here from "Irish wish". I knew I remembered this handsome dude from somewhere. But when I realized where I knew him from I was in shock (still am). Brilliant acting skills. I'm still conflicted between the two characters and can't merge them into one face 😂
that awkward moment when i realised brianna has more chemistry with bonnet than with roger haha too bad he was a bad guy.

Bonnet was broken, Black Jack was a sadist. Bonnet wasn't born the way he is, Black Jack likely was.
They both knew they were monsters but Bonnet was tryna be a better man (epic fail tho). BJR just went "I'm a bad person? Oh no! Anyways..."

He's such a great actor and I love the character of Stephen bonnet. You watch ed in interviews or Downton and you would never guess this was him

The only person I see fitting in the role of Joker(Batman series) is Ed Speleers) Stephen Bonnet. He's dark yet there's something about him you just can't resist, well, at least I can't. OMG, call me mad but I wished to see more of him.

Agreed! Outlander is brilliant at portraying the interplay of light and dark, the push-pull between good and evil, through its characters. They remind us that no person is whole good and vice versa

Roger is the father because it reveals later that the child has a birthmark identical to Rogers in the exact same place on his body. Birthmarks can be hereditary.

It is fiction, so the father could be the holy ghost if the author writer decides so.
4th season was boring.. sorry, I really love the story!! but it has waaay too much rape, almost EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER was raped... I was hoping something more interesting happenig to briana...
they make it seem like rape is the only bad thing that can happen and it's like...dude, they are in the 18 century, a lot of bad things could happen ( specially to a woman) and most of them were even legal.
I think season 4 wasn't boring, I like season 4 more than the third one. Also in season 4 was one rape. The first season was a lot more brutal
@@luiiiandmovieee but in the first season was surprising. at this point someone gets raped and it's like " oh, another one, how original" like if i wanted all the drama to focus on different people overcoming rape, i have law and order:special victims unit, for that.
You can't lump a rape together with another rape, because they are extremely different. Stephen Bonnet didn't care who Brianna is. He would have done that with every woman. This rape was more physical I think but Jamie's rape was more mental. Of course both rapes were both but Randall was like obsessed with Jamie and wanted to break his spirit. That was actually more than "just" a rape

But is annoying how it's all about Brianna now, and that she was raped, not to sound insensitive I do think it's a horrible thing, but this show has waaaay too much of that... Something more interesting could have happened to Brianna! And season 3 wast bad at all! They travel went to America and was more interesting than season. 4 haven't seen season 5, but I think they are going to still draaag Brianna raped... What a shame... Season 1 was still the best one... Don't know if season 6 will be the last one

I think Bonnet Is most tragic character in season 5. He really wanted to go light when captured Brianna, it just was too hard and unfortunate.

If I will read about someone else hating Stephen Bonnet I am ready to argue. Stephen was NOT evil like BJR. Stephen had a terrifing past that made him like that. And as you can see, he has a heart.
He was my favorite character of season 4 and 5. Too bad they killed him off so fast. In the books he lived way longer
Stop that nonsense about "he had a bad childhood, it's not his fault". Life is always a matter of choice, not of destiny. He was obnoxious. Because he wanted to be and because he liked himself in that role. I could feel the physical satisfaction when Brianna shot him.
@@girlwithoutpearlearring I have never said that it's not his fault. It is his fault, and of course he was obnoxious. I'm not saying we was innocent... But the fact is, that if he would have been in a different family/life situation, he would definitely be different, while for example, BJR grew up in a rich and good family but still, he was a devil.
@@girlwithoutpearlearring yes it was satisfying to see Bree shoot him and she deserved that hand. However after spending nearly a full day with him while kidnapped, she got to see his sensitive side. Initially her best revenge would be to leave him in the water and let him die there while he suffers. That shot in the head was mercy killing. Or else, it could be that she wanted to be sure he's definitely dead and not get away, like last time
