So happy that Murtagh didn't die after Culloden like he does in the books. Duncan is such a treasure! I love both of these reunions!
Usually I hate a show/movie deviates from the book. But I was overjoyed that Murtaugh didn't die at Culloden, that he was not only able to see Claire come back but also got to meet Brianna & Ian.
This was my favourite change they made from the books!
But he died at Alamance.
@@livcaitbffMine too! Murtaugh had more of a presence than even Jamie in my opinion and it was a brilliant move to keep him on and pair him with Jocasta
I don’t think Murtaugh has ever been this happy to hear Jamie’s angry voice!
He remembered the tune she sang all over Scotland 23 years ago :)
That was a great plot line but it wasn’t in the book.
Which is really even more impressive for a dead man 😂
He probably whistled it when ever he needed his spirt lifted.
I lost it when he started singing that tune. 😭♥️
@@tamarak9393the singing all over Scotland? Of course it was in the book
The chemistry between all the actors in this show is magical.
Kudos to the casting director.
except bree
Murtagh was one of my favourites in the show.
Jes, he was one of them, sad he died😢
I found myself surprised that this change from the book to the screen made so much sense to me and added even more depth to these complex characters and relationships. I typically hate straying that far away from canon but this worked!
I love Murtagh and Claire's friendship.
So glad this reunion eventhough it was not in the books. And another favorite was when Jamie met Brianna.
Did he never meet her in the book?
@@pamelabryer4536In the books Murtagh died at Culloden.
@@pamelabryer4536he’d met her and knew her as she’s the wife of his godson (Jamie) but while he and Jamie battled at Culloden, Murtagh died and Jamie went to prison afterwards, she went back through the stones
Yes - Jamie meets Briana in the books, differently though.
@@pamelabryer4536in the books, he is never heard from again once he and Jamie were split up when Ardesmure closed
One of the top 3 moments of this show. ❤ Loved when he met Brianna and said what took you so long.
Blessed relationship in every sense. ❤Friendship, fatherhood, brotherhood! 😊🔥
😅😅😅😅
One of the most beautiful moments. ❤❤ gotta love Murtagh
One of the most beautiful reunions of this TV series !
This is one of my favorite moments in the whole series
murtaugh was my favorite thru the whole series;) i cried my eyes out when he was gone!!!
One of the best, you feel every moment!
I'm not crying , I'm not crying .
i loved Murtaugh i was so glad they kept him longer than the books they also gave Frank/Black Jack an even stronger role because he was such a great Actor.
This is my favorite reunion of the series. Although, I didn't really like that Murtagh ended up joining the Regulators to fight the British, instead of moving to Fraziers Ridge to be with Jamie and Claire.
They probably did that so he would die on the show as he did on the books. Quickest way that would fit his character.
Damn, I miss this show. One of my all time faves.
It still has one more season.
Might be my favourite scene of all, Claire and Murtagh’s hug. 🥹
I love Murtagh!!!
I would have like him to live forever. He was a key character
I LOVE MURTAGH SO MUCH!
Two of my favourite scenes in all the episodes.
Das schönste Wiedersehen zwischen Claire und Murtagh.
Aber auch Jamie trifft seinen geliebten Paten, beides eine ergreifende Szene.
💯💯👌👌👍👍🥰
Murtaugh was the only Highlander left who knew what really happened and witnessed their origins and trials as newlyweds in Scotland and their secrets during the Rising :(
Always loved Murtagh!

Murtaugh and Lord Grey are my favorite characters aside from Jamie and Claire.
Oh my heart ❤️. What a beautiful thing 😊
Goosebumps 🫶🏻
Love this series. Show. I'd like to watch again
This made me cry
Loved him
Murthag un gran personaje, gran apoyo para Jamie.
murthaugh was my favorite i cried my eyes out when he died:(
Murtagh was my favoriete actor
If not for his mom choosing his dad he might have been Jamie’s dad. He loved him so much. He loved Claire too once he got to know her. His death for me was the saddest of the whole show
I miss Murtagh so much 😭
I really wished he would’ve survived in the books 😢
Great relationship!
I was cried that day no lie
murtagh was my favorite on the whole show... the way they killed him was not fair! felt rushed and choppy, the show actually ended for me when he died!
Agreed
I would’ve loved if his character would’ve stayed alive for longer really developed his place in the resistance I can see him as someone who would’ve lifted the flag up during the last battle the star spangled one. What I love about this show is it’s truth to history
The best scene! Why did they take Murtagh out of the series??? 😓
Wonderful great
Kids going "Do I get my 21 shillings back?"
Ahh.. one of my top love/hate inconsistencies of the show vs books. Love Murtagh, but it really grits on me since he died at Culloden.
Time travel
grates, not grits
I agree. I wish his story would have been like the show.
Murtagh dying was horrible 😢
When's the next season, feels like it's been forever.
November 22nd 🎉😂
@@diamond1966able Urgh not much longer then lol
❤❤❤❤❤❤
The writers of this show should be ashamed for keeping a character alive longer than the what was written just to kill them off poorly.
They do it for ratings when a character becomes very popular.
Nothing to be ashamed of
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
In the book he died at Culloden dead at Jamie’s feet. 😳
Isn't he the one that helps Claire find Jamie in the first season
He is- they’re drawing attention to themselves by sing an altered version of Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy (which is the writers way of reminding us Claire is from the 1940s)
How were they separated?
The "boogie-woogie bugle boy?" WOW, big anachronism there. That was World World Two imagry, not Revolutionary War era. Who's editing the script for this thing?
It was meant to be WW II, not Revolutionary War. Claire was born in 1918 and was a nurse during WW II. She time travelled from the 20th century to the 18th century. Murtaugh is one of the few that know Claire's truth. She taught him that song from her time. She also shared poems with Jamie from her time.
C'était écrit Murtagh devait revenir dans la vie de Jamie 😊
Outlander Love my favorite one fan BIG season DVD 📀 Dolls 💖💖💖💖🎶🏰
Hated when they killed him off.
I'm a little bit confused and I don't remember his character for some reason who is he to Jamie
His godfather!
21 shillings in 1776 is like $100 today
Utter crap. Murray died at Culloden.
Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy? An anachronism?! Or did Murtaugh travel to 1940s America?
When Claire and Murtaugh were traveling to different towns trying to find Jamie, they would sing/dance, and ask questions to some of the onlookers. Claire taught him the bugle boy song (obviously) because she said it would be catchier. Then another group stole their routine, and they were using the tune.
@@anneb889 Thank you!!
Did you even watch the show?
@@clivechiamI got bored part way through season 2. So enough to know the characters but not a fine connoisseur like yourself. Hence the question another was kind enough to answer.
