It’s not Jamie’s fault that he beat up the wrong guy, but you can’t blame Brianna for being mad. She went a few hundred years to the past (just to warn her parents of the fire), was raped, got pregnant without knowing the father (and without planning, pregnancy is already pretty hard even when you prepared yourself for it) and then later was slut shamed and accused of lying about being raped by her own father. Honestly, “go to hell” is pretty tame considering all that she’s been through.

I truly understand the course of actions however Brianna's actions were expected not justified. She hid the truth(which is definitely unimaginably painful for her) which led to the misunderstanding. And her father suddenly finding out, how was He supposed to react. It is not as if he hadn't seen other women victimize themselves in that era. How do you justify Brianna defending other man over her father and slapping him?

I'm not mad at Jamie for beating up Roger, he wouldn't have done it if he knew the truth. I'm upset at him for not letting Bree finish and assume that she claimed to be raped because she found herself pregnant. And to everyone saying Bree has gone too far, she's assaulted, pregnant and thought the man she loved had left her but instead stayed to find her and had gotten hurt. Her relationship with Jamie is still very new here and just as she's getting to know him , he does this. Her anger is pretty valid.

Sigh, I don't know whose side I should choose. It's impossible. Right from the start, I haven't been a big fan of Brianna, as I often don't agree with her hot-tempered, childish reactions, but in this case, it's only natural to act completely irrational. On the other side, Jamie couldn't have known he was beating the wrong man. Bonnet certainly would deserve that (although I LOVE his acting...seriously, why do I always have to have a liking for psychopaths?) And Ian? He's such a cute man! A huge, huge misunderstanding. He made a decision without consulting her about what to do with the person that assaulted her. Why blame him when Brianna and Claire kept the information hidden.? Of all times to keep silent Claire chooses this. I think Brianna is incredibly rude and Claire is selfish in her need to keep silent. Poor decisions all around. The show also failed to properly show Brianna forgiving Jamie and how he was present during her delivery....once more unfair treatment of Jamie's character.

She didn't love him anymore and she was very upfront about it. I completely understand the pain of having his marriage ruined by a "3rd party", but if your wife tells you straight up that she is in love with somebody else, why are you even staying with her? I can even understand marriages based on convenience and friendship. But forcing her to act as if she was happy and satisfied and she didn'teven remember those 2 or 3 years "away"? What kind of perverse satisfaction can you earn from an "act"? Did he really think she was going to fall back in love with him, just because she was forced to act as if she was, and forbidden to even mention or think about the other one? That's another level of effed-up. Not to mention the way he always tried to be "the favourite" in Brianna's heart, spoiling her, trying to get her away from her mother, in a perverse attempt to get back to her biological parents. Brianna was mad at herself because she didn't resist enough, because she didn't fight enough, she thought being raped was her fault. Jaime says hurtful things to provoke her to attack him and so he shows her that it is not her fault that she was raped, that there was nothing she could do, that the person who raped her was a stronger beast than her.

I don't think some of you got the real reason why she slapped him. It wasn't because what happent with Roger, or at least not intirely. Because you are right. That wasn't only Jamie's fault, it was one hell of a misunderstanding, where everybody participated. True, his action were hasty and impulsive and he should've consulted his decision with Brianna and Claire before acting on his own. Brianna is also right to be mad at him for this, who would not be, and if the slapp was only for this I would judge her too. But...
the slapp was for what he said afterwards. And in this I'm entirely on her side. Sorry, but no father should say something like this to his daughter, no matter the time or place. As for someone who knows what it is like, being used like that, Jamie went way out of his line. Even if he didn't have all the information nothing gives him the right to speak like this to someone, let alone to his own daughter. He messed up, big time. What he said was horrible and you really can't blame Brianna for lashing out.
