Being born in '97, I figured that I was too young to get nostalgic for a 90's era computer, but watching him put in a CD to start a game, with the trey being so loud and button controlled? Yeah that took me back. Even the scanlines did it.
Bro I was born in 2000, and I also have nostalgic feelings. My dad randomly gifted me his oldest PC as soon as I was able to read and wrote and could Understand a bit of english. First PC He gifted me was a MS-Dos PC and I had to learn how to mount games if I wanted to play Prince of Persia or Commander Keen. Then I got a PC with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows XP running. Sadly I dont really remember the exact specifications. But I think my dad wanted me to understand the devolelopment, the PC industry made... And prevent me from the Internet/First Person Shooters ay long as possible :DDD

The average age of the players was also a tad bit older I think, I don't remember playing with people younger than me before I was 14/15
I guess that makes me feel "aged" at 20, not old but still that's not a feeling you get as a kid before you're 20 ^^'

@@ThunderBlastvideo Very unlikely, while minecraft isn't overly dependent on a graphics card, it is VERY CPU dependent (well java edition). Even at the resolution of that monitor it would be hard pressed to load it to the start menu even if you could get the drivers to work properly.
@iSolvano / Games on OLED and 5 years before that it would have been cool, before it became mainstream. A lot of people are really sensitive with how others could associate them with kids.

Man this takes me back to the hardest and heaviest rush of nostalgia. I didn't have a Hot Wheels pc, but I did have my father's Windows 98 PC that my brother and I played so many games on. Just the old Windows 98 look and feel, the CRT monitor, and the opening and closing of the disc drive, _g o d_ its all so super-duper nostalgic!!! Now most computers either don't have an optical drive or the case doesn't even provide a spot for one! Blasphemy!

We used to sell these things when I worked at CompUSA back in the day! Tried to explain to sooo many people that this machine was spec'd worse than the cheapest bottom of the barrel normal e-machine we had at the time and was also more expensive. Would constantly get "well my kids don't need something powerful" blah blah blah and sure enough we would get tons of returns on these because they were pretty much unusable they were so slow. Also, many were straight up dead out of the box due to components coming lose in the case during shipping and knocking off caps and whatnot. Someone should figure out how to stuff an i7 and GTX 3090 into this thing. Now that would be a video!
It would, except the fact that a 3090 is longer than the whole case...

@@bmxscape That's only the price linus asked for it, with some luck, you could probably get it for way less in like thrift stores or craigslist. I doubt LGR paid 6000$ for both his hot wheels pc and barbie pc. And you will probably have to change the power supply at some point, even if they didn't fail when they were in use, they've had 10-15 years to die.
Did the psu fail?
The Hot Wheels PC having USB 2 connections over a year before USB 2 was even a thing would be uh, impressive.
LGR has a great restoration video on this PC if anyone wants to see another one broke down and restored.
