Haha I totally understand the no GPU struggle. Promised my wife my graphics card when the 3090 came out, and built her a PC passing down my 2060S. Unfortunately this was pretty much right when the shortage scalping took off to Narnia, so I've been enjoying touching grass since then. Plus side, my wife is now a gamer. Downside, my wife is now THE gamer. Honestly though watching someone who is brand new to gaming fall in love with the experience, I would do it all over again.
Hope that now that the shoratge ended you two are enjoying gaming together :D

The second setup has so many separate outlets because they wanted them on multiple circuits so their is absolutely no chance of all those monitors, conputer , lights, sound mixers, etc overtaxing and kicking a single breaker like a power bar could do ( using 4 separate 30 amp outlets instead of four outlets on a single 30 amp breaker ).
I don't know, I'd rather do some wattage calculations than chisel into brick.
Does it really make a difference? Cause I'm pretty sure that all those outlets just connect to the same breaker anyways.

if it's wired to code, you can draw 1800 watts out of a single outlet. (3500 watts if you're in a 220v country)
there's virtually no reason to have that many outlets, it's just extra work for no reason.

Numpad on the left actually makes sense. It lets you enter numbers with your left hand while using arrow keys (or mouse) with your right. If you only use the numpad occasionally, you probably want it separate from the rest of your keyboard so you can have the mouse closer (keyboard-mouse-numpad). There aren't a lot of people who are best served by the keyboard-numpad-mouse arrangement, though.
Can you give an example of when you'd use num pad and mouse at the same time? If it's to put it in a new text box that's what the tab key is for. I can't think of a single time you'd use the num pad and arrow keys at the same time either, and even if you needed to use them both, the num lock button is right there. The only logical reason I could think of someone wanting the num pad on the left is if they're left handed and they find it more comfortable.

The use of split screen with both of you having similar backgrounds was super cool! I found it way less distracting having you both be in the same room, actually talking, without masks, but also being fully responsible and maintaining a safe social distance. I think this format works really well, and any future discussion type content like this could totally follow the same pattern! This was way more engaging than I expected it'd be, haha.

me in 2022: this is how my setup went: i went from an i5 pc to an intel celeron laptop to an amd athlon desktop which im on to this day, i went from 1 monitor to 2 monitors back to 1 monitor all the way up to 3/4 monitors

me in 2022: 8th gen core i7 laptop which barely run call of duty games from 10 years ago, bought a used optiplex 3020 and slapped a 1050ti inside, december 2022 upgraded to 16gb ram, gtx 1080, and upgraded cpu

I show someone doing something similar on uni class, the Webcam I got has a cover, and I unplug it when not in use, same with the mic, disabling mic permissions after the class ends, privacy is important

Ok, I'm going to say it. If you don't use your numpad often, left-sided numpad is so much better. By moving the numpad to the left side you shift the actual keyboard to the right and closer to the mouse, making it easier to use both. Also, for setups like mine where there isn't much room to the right, I had to basically choose to either have my keyboard centered or to have my mouse have full range of motion.
