    Hi ate, I've been watching your videos for a while and I always find them incredibly well-written and delivered. Very concise and easy to follow. I especially appreciate videos about agencies, because I know a lot of people are constantly getting scammed by them. Your videos helped me in my DIY application, which is now awaiting approval. More power to you, ate! Stay safe always.

      I am glad you are encouraged to DIY. I hope you get that approval soon.
      I share your sentiment about agencies. They reason why I take such a strong position against agencies is because people email me about their refused study permit applications on a daily basis. Most of them mentioned they used an agent.
      I will continue my mission to educate and inform more people.
      Thank you for your kind words and your support.

    I was tempted to reach out to an agency until I watched your previous video about avoiding agencies. Thank God! DYI all the way. I haven’t finished watching this video yet but I wanted to say thank you ate Rachel. I just got my approval last week and received my passport with visa yesterday. Hi Rachel kudos for making this video and exposing these agencies/agents.
    The same problem is also happening here in Australia. I agree with what you said that these agencies/agents get away because they are outside Canada (Australia) and not covered by the immigration law. It is very sad that they take advantage of this loophole in the law to gain money at the expense of others.
    In the case here in Australia, these agents give false hopes by saying that the course that the applicants/students will undertake have pathways to PR. Once these applicants/students realise that their course won't lead them to PR, they will eventually transfer to a new course. In the end, these students wasted their time, money, and effort on a course that won't lead them to get PR.

    • @rrdancel
      @rrdancel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is the exact same thing that is happening to so many students here in Canada. I AM FRUSTRATED AF. This agency problem will have to stop. Someone has to take a stand for the victims out there. I have been on so many video calls with people telling me the same old story how they fell victim to these agencies. I will continue this work and will continue to educate people so they can avoid being victims.
      I noticed that you have a channel and are talking about international student life in Australia. You are doing great work to help students. Keep it up.

    You should define AGENT. For instance I am a certified student support agent ICEF/ITAC...however I also have a certified IRCC agent on my team that handles the student application with Immigration and Refugee Canada. She charges a separate fee from my services and advises students separately. My work is student application and pre support, school placement, travel support and support once the student is in Canada.

    • @rrdancel
      @rrdancel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have defined it in this video. Point is, if the agent is the one providing legal advice - then that’s illegal bc that person is not qualified nor authorized to do so.

    We are fighting the same monster- the illegal agents or fake immigration consultants. By the way, your giving immigration advice when you are neither an immigration lawyer nor a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant is an absolute no no and might get you into trouble if reported to Immigration Canada. Stick to sharing your personal experiences to avoid complaints.

      You may apply to your choosing University directly from their website. You need to sign up for a student ID to make an application.
      There’s also the option to apply to several schools under one application through us to alleviate the logistical headache of setting up your student ID per school website. 😊

    Hi good evening rachel. I'm done watching your video. You discussed avoiding agency. I'm sharing my story with you just to get you to give me some advice. I do assess to immigration consultant which is based in Dubai. And they have a branch here in the Philippines. So applied for a student visa and I paid their processing fee of Php 88k. One of my dreams is to go there not just for only studying but also to find a good opportunity and a better life. But in my case, I am only a high school graduate only. the best find way to come there that I think is to apply for a student visa. That's why I do assess and paid the processing fee to the Immigration consultant. But in my conclusion, I felt that something was not okay. After 1 month I do assess that consultant. I was confused and think a lot. If they can help me or not? Is it worth it that I paid them 88k Or maybe I just wasted my money only for nothing. It's too late for me to know DIY? I already paid that consultant. What should i do??

    Hi Rachel! I have completed my grade 12th without maths in my home country and i wanna apply in Business administration (diploma) in vancouver community college but they require maths to apply for it although i got some info that i can still be able to get admission but i have to give a maths test when i arrive in canada. So my question is what level test shall i have to give? Like grade 10th or 11th or 12th? Contacted college about the same but they didn't cleared my doubt. So can you tell me if any of your friends were in the same scenario, what test they gave?

      They are illegal if they’re not authorized to give legal advice on your application. If they wanted to help, they shouldn’t charge you legal fees. It’s explicitly said on IRCC’s website.
      I’ve seen so many cases like this shrugged bc “they got to Canada anyway” but it doesn’t discount the fact they’re not authorized. They are not supposed to charge you for providing legal assistance.
      May I ask how much you paid them for transparency reasons?
