To those who went to Canada for university: Congratulations on surviving your first week without being arrested for hurting someone's feelings and disobeying strict socialist values! Many don't make it far past the airport.
Came to Canada from Russia in 2012, was already an educated IT professional with 5 years of work experience, went through school (2 year program just to be able to get the PR). Fast forward to today, I live in Florida making a descent living and owning 2 houses. Thanks to my Canadian passport, I was able to get here on TN visa as a Canadian citizen. Otherwise this would have been a lot more challenging.
Canadian brain drain is absolutely real and a shame. We lose a lot of intelligent individuals to the states since it just makes more sense for those who can - to simply cross the border and triple their income and potentially reduce their COL. It's a really unfortunate problem and I really don't see a good solution.
How much time it take to get the canadian citizenship? How did you move to Florida and the US? Do you have an idea about thr job market in Florida? And the business opportunities in Florida? I am an engineer with European education (France and the Netherlands), and I work as a manager in an industrial company in Algeria. Thank you in advance for the info snd advice..
Canada needs young immigrants to pay taxes/CPP to our wealthy boomer population and to keep our real estate pyramid scheme going. I was born in Canada and want to have a family but it is not possible for me in Canada. I would love to leave.
This is great content, there are TH-camrs that moved to Canada but have a lot of money and they are deceiving people by showing them their incredible huge houses and incredible lives, I hope that more people sees videos like this before moving to Canada.
These so called TH-camrs don't give the true picture ...even they lie about their so called money ...they never even give the true picture ...one such idiot is Potato Talkies
I completely agree. They are promoting a dream life in Canada but it’s all false. Probably ones that came 4 years back could buy cheap housing are relatively better. But still they have a tough life but they will never mention on their TH-cam channel.
I went to an international school in Singapore and I remember a representative from UBC came over to give a presentation to those who were interested in studying in Canada and I remember specifically that they placed a heavy focus on immigration. Compared to talks I heard from other university representatives from UK, US and Australia, the UBC representative made it a large selling point that if you graduate from UBC you have an easy path towards permanent residence and citizenship. Now, considering that people in my school came from well off households and did academically very well, it seemed like the main selling point to study at UBC compared to perhaps an elite school in America or Britain was an easier path towards citizenship, which was likely why most people who attended the UBC lecture if they weren't Canadian were nationals from places like China or India who have weak passports. While everyone I know who went to study in Canada is doing well, this is basically because they all went to top unis and have very well off parents. It's a shame that those who perhaps come from a lower income background and live in poorer countries get preyed on by certain bad actors for the promise of a better life.
I think in nowadays, most Chinese nationals will go back to China when they finished their study in Canada or the U.S. because the opportunities they will have in China compared to in Canada or US are like day vs. night. Just forced my bro in law moved back to Shanghai from Australia and the opportunities he having in Shanghai is not something he can even dream of in Australia……of course, this only applies to motivated people, lazy asses don’t apply.
well that's what canada is all about immigration, thy exploit these people from their fist 5 year in the country, if you manage to surviv then pay it forward it is your turn to abouse the ones who come fresh of the boat!
Singapore's passport ranking is high. Most Singaporeans in Canada made citizenship an option because of the 100 page passports and also Singapore's non dual citizenship policy making it difficult for the compelling reason for citizenship. Getting a job needs the student not playing around in summer and get into the co-op course to secure their first student employment. Get the work attitudes right with the employer for employability and a good record for the resume. You need to look for courses that need people in it. There is no point in getting to "popular" courses. Get employed and then think about passion later in life. Put money on the table first then other things as options. They are considered risky, money helps mitigate the risk better.
Canadian here. My undergrad (engineering) had mostly Canadians but graduate studies are mainly international students for the university I went to. I do think foreigners get preyed upon by unis, so that is true. However, a lot of the students that come here are from well off families and expect to be handed everything like they are used to. The ones with hustle tend to do better. The economy hasn't been great the last decade or so and many Canadians are also struggling. The cost of living is outrageous now for us too. I have friends I've met that were international students (engineering) and I'd say most are doing alright. I do think the program and uni you study matters for job prospects. Also, I've had to move around to small centers for employment to gain experience. The major cities are more competitive for jobs and typically want more experienced candidates.
@@theophilusoteng6753 Well the illicit pharmaceuticals industry are always looking for talented cooks, chemists, and quality control experts, they pay very well and aren't too particular about where you got your degree from.
I came to Canada in 2014 to study in Quebec university, I landed a job before graduation and I’ve been working since. I even started a business while working full time. I’m now a citizen of Canada and my two kids are born in Canada. I worked very hard to get all this and I did my research before coming to Canada. Bottom line, you need much more than just education to succeed in Canada or anywhere else. Wasting your parents money hoping to become wealthy in a foreign country is a suicide mission.
My friend, do you not see your mind is in a bubble? Its embarrassing. The year is 2023, not 2014, canada is trying to bring like 400,000 immigrants to canada when it was probably like 90k in your time. Prices are different, everything is different. The fact that you're ignoring that makes you look very ignorant
I came to Montreal in 2018. Got my PR in 2022 and I work for a big company now with a stable salary. It was a long, hard journey. International students should understand that the first 3-4 years will be unbelievably taxing, and that pressure usually forces you to build a skillset so that you can show how you can be of use to any employer. Many can't handle this pressure and I don't blame them, it gets tough and lonely and the winters are unforgiving(some go back, some perish in vices, and some find alternate professions). If you are someone on the brink, hold on, do what is good for you, and show up for yourself, going back isn't a failure, it's just part of your journey.
Hi! I am an Indian student as well studying at Alexander College, British Columbia. When I saw the schools website and social media all I saw was diversity but it wasn't until I started classes that I came face to face with the reality. 90% of the students are Indian here and diversity is like none. 5% would be Asian, 1% Latin and the rest is Canadian only faculty. I am yet to meet a Canadian student and I have been attending classes for 3 weeks now. That aside I was fed with the fake promises of getting a job easily as well but I have been unemployed for 1 month even after applying for 100+ jobs (mostly bartending as I have certification and qualification). I have also applied for other minimum wage jobs but no luck so far. For housing, I would say I got really lucky to get a place as soon as I came otherwise it is really hard as well. Still the place is 1 hour away from my college.
Most of the college PG Diploma was made by Canadian Government for local population who are weak in studies or dont have job - So they do this PG Diploma and get some job and pay government back in form of taxes. Indians and other student immigrants found this loop hole in system and they started exploiting it. Education or Degree is for life. I see very few Indian students going to Proper Universities in Canada and do Masters or Bachelors. They choose for easy and less expensive PG Diploma - Most of them will end up doing labour jobs or low paying jobs all there rest of life.
@@Pulkit__7 Bruh what are most Indians??? Give me some numbers in figure......................Last year 2 Lakh Indian students came into Canada. Surely from that 10,000 will have good job and career................what about rest 190,000 students????
Most people I know, likely 80% of people. You need to compete in life man. No one will come and give you stuff. Change your friends and meet people who want to succeed in life. We are not here as labourers. I know people who are really really lazy, and if they are even given an opportunity to work just 8 hours a day for a year, and they will earn millions, they still won't work at all. Don't be like this.
I stayed and lived in Canada for 9 years since I was 14 years old. I left the country as I couldn't find any job availabilities that are attractive enough as compared to a lucrative job in countries like Singapore.
I think the best way to succeed in canada is to do a lot of research on your own ; go for cheaper schools ; go for strategic courses that would finally lead you to PR ; network while in school go for job fairs meet people ; check the school and the province ; every school would tell you that they have high acceptance rates etc Canada is a DIY country and process ✨
Very nice input. But I don't really recommend to go for cheaper schools (without considering the school's reputation). Your school plays a huge role in landing a better job afterward, of course, this is not true for everyone many factors still have to be considered, but employers look at the school you attended. Cheaper does not always mean inferior, but most of the time it's the case. I went for a "better" school with the expense of spending more money on tuition than a normal student would. One year into the program I have received offers already from different companies in the city I live in. Some of the offers are even coming from my instructors. Which surprised me given the fact that I still have a year before I finish my program. Moreover, my instructors are really competent, and they take teaching really seriously. While some of my friends from "cheaper" school are busy filming TikTok, I'm burning the midnight oil doing school works.
In the era of interconnectivity and globalization the competition is throat-cutting everywhere. Basically you need to be upping your game all the time to gain that edge employers and businesses are looking for, something that sets you apart. Easier said than done, but one thing Max said, you have to fight for your place. That statement goes everywhere. Whether in Canada or anywhere else in the world. It's a dream, I've seen a lot of people make it. But that success came to them after insane sacrifices and struggle. It's a nightmare for a lot too, those who believed just going to Canada will be the beautiful end to all their life's struggle back home and everything will be handed to them on a silver platter.
@@ivanhoewindsor4749 I'm a white Canadian taxpayer so I don't know who you think you are addressing. And yes, they (Indians) do use education to get into Canada. But the Canada they are told about doesn't exist. Sad truth but if it's too good to be true it usually is.
My experience might be different. I came in Canada in 2011, did a bachelor degree in a small town of Moncton. Yes school was 10K$-11K$/year but housing wasn’t expensive. As soon as I finished, I moved to Quebec and landed a job in my field and since the I got every jobs I wanted so my experience in Canada has been really good! My sister who’s in Ottawa has the same experience as I. She landed a job at Desjardins when studying and got promoted as financial advisor as soon as she finished a month ago. I’m thankful about those opportunities to be honest. In a long term I’m planning to leave here. The only thing for me is that there’s not enough benefits working wise as in Europe (less vacation days, no restaurant ticket, etc..), other than that, I’m grateful.❤
Yes you’re right the vacation policies here are dogshit. I work full time in a technical field. We started with 2 weeks vacation, got another week at 1 year, but we don’t get a 4th week until 15 years!! Im 9 years in but m looking for options abroad at this point.
@@zanetusken exactly me too. My cousin and some friends in Europe, they freaking have a month from the jump+20 paid rest days😂( basically if you work 40h/week, you can have 28.5 days because their full time limit there is 35h/week)+an amount that they can use as for vacation (about 500€)+restaurants tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I’m Canada, employees don’t have much benefits to be honest. In some places, you can’t even take your whole 3weeks one shot! Also during summer and end of the year, it’s like a war zone with colleagues just so you can have some days off. My cousin’s employer gave them 1 paid day off just because he thought the stuff have worked Hard during last summer 😂😂😂😂😂😂. Yeah when she told me I was like aight, I need to move! In Canada, I also have a salary way above 80K a year but 3weeks to a month isn’t enough!
I'm a Canadian and I've met a lot of international students and I've become friends with quite a few of them (they are all amazing people). I always feel bad for them because how much Canadian universities rip them off by the universities here. Everything is more expensive for them and it always makes me mad because of how much they get overcharged
Seriously? You feel sorry for them? You should feel sorry for us Canadians. Most international students are rich af. And PR is handed to them like a piece of candy. So stop feeling sorry them and start feeling sorry for Canadians who live paycheque to paycheque!
@@I34R yes I do feel sorry for them, and I have yet to meet any international student who is rich. @@ElPenetrator21 funny that people are mad at international students not paying taxes (even though they do), but never mention the super wealthy getting away without paying their fair share.
Thank you for covering this painful side of studying in Canada. I would like to share my experience since I have been here since 2021. The school where I study is a legislated university where students can get a work permit after graduation. However, there is no diversity as they usually describe. Approx. 75-80 percent of students from India and Bangladesh are from other Asian countries. I have never seen local students. It is the wrong way to misinform international students who come with big dreams. Personally, I expected to meet a more diverse student community. Another issue is that job ads usually require so-called Canadian experience even though you have more than five years of experience in the same field in your home country. I am wondering how it is possible to gain that Canadian experience when they do not provide for us with some opportunity.
CANADA is just a Shithole.. US is also another shithole.. They will screw people up and tax people.. They are never going to give any PR or citizenship... Better look for other good countries or a nice job in India itself
You Indians are complaining about jobs I've been to India.Indians Never give jobs to foreigner. It's 99% impossible as an immigrant to get a job in India so stop spoiling other people's countries with immigrant
Yeah, you tell the truth! All of these are true. I'm not a student here just an International experience engineer, it's tough to find a job and it is hard to find everybody here to work for a serious and focused on a high qualities company. Canadian companies have bad efficiency. The government does not have a true long-term planning. The Parties just got the power to make their own famous.
I have Nigerian and Indian friends that enrolled in universities in the Philippines. They said the teachers are always present and they are smart and approachable. The tuition fees are cheap yet they received quality education. The only thing they despise is they always have quizzes and tests, and group activities. (They are nursing , med-tech, and medical students.)
I'm from India. But I don't consider myself Indian coz opportunity low and youth population is 50% of entire population so you can't imagine the insane competition level.
In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, xenophobic people, too depressing. It has become the North Korea of the western world.
You are right especially when you say Xenophobic country. Yes especially the government. Doesn't matter which party. In the end, they all sleep together.

Came to Canada as an International Student in a small city in Northern BC. Graduated in 2017 (spent about ~$23k in tuition) and landed a job as a Software Dev making 60k. Became a PR the next year (2018) and bought my wife in (also became a PR the same time I did). Moved to the Lower Mainland in BC for more job opportunities. Fast forward to today and I make ~100k. Applied for Citizenship and will be taking the test in a few days. Once I get my Citizenship certificate, I'm flying back home. Canada is too expensive. Edit: For those who are missing the point of my message, YES, I am doing WELL on paper BUT despite all that, my wife and I are barely surviving here because of the high cost of living. We're not even in Vancouver, we're in Surrey (relatively cheaper). If you need specifics, Alex's video has it - th-cam.com/video/zqyRp6pAwu8/w-d-xo.html
Am A Nigerian and I will be going to Canada this year for my master's program. I was told to learn work skills even as I am already a fashion designer. Am learning how to braid hair and taking some classes in Digital Marketing, graphics design, website development, etc. People should do their research and get ready when moving to a new place.
I believe that if future students make the research themselves instead of using agencies who sell false dreams they could narrow down lots of things and manage their expectations way better.
I agree. I had a friend from China and it’s actually the agencies over there that are selling the dream, not any specific university. Sometimes it’s basically a scam to get people with money to pay for this dream.
I did my own research, all the paperwork I did it directly myself. Still a scam. Simply put: it's government propaganda. To sell "the dream". Top government involved in that. Everything you see and read outside Canada depict a wonderland.
I'm Canadian, born and raised. I'm so ashamed of my government. We promote immigration but treat the most useful immigrants that need to work the worst. Even doctors and nurses. Realistically we cater to the elites from foreign countries that are maybe laundering in real estate and neglecting those that have real skills and just need to be setup and then will provide long term gains in regards to taxes. This is a shameful business practice as there are so many that want to come here and not speculate but live a regular life in peace and harmony. On top of this the foreign agents are sketchy as well. I don't understand how trained doctors are driving ubers. It's disgusting. Let's fix this.
We came to Canada last year and it's been a bit hard because we are a family of 4. The cost of living is way more than it was when we budgeted for it, it is unbelievable how fast it increased in less than a year. The job we have barely lets us pay rent and eat but I do have to say there are a lot of oportunities here. We moved from Peru since the social, political and economic situation were bad and it continues to worsen as I write this. We wanted a better life for our kids and Canada gave us the possibility, it has not been easy but considering everything it is much better than the turmoil in South America. The biggest difference is that there are jobs here in Canada and ways to improve if you really want to do so, some are dirty trade jobs but they pay well and that is what I am aiming for so I can make some money and get PR and then citizenship. I do want to stress that it is possible to make money here but you have to learn to save and invest it, rate of return on investment here is much higher than in Perú and if you play your cards right you can retire with dignity. Another option after citizenship is to go to the States too, somewhere woth low taxes and affordable real state. Buying a house in Canada is no longer an option apparently, it is way too expensive for too little.
I'm a bit worried it won't get any better. Besides having to worry about paying any outstanding tuition, sticker shock is quite a reality for most, if not all, international students. When I came to Vancouver from Mexico in July 2021, I was immensely surprised by just how expensive everything seems to be in Canada; from general services to day-to-day transactions, I found it was pretty hard to save. I was lucky enough to get a good job after graduating from my masters program, but even then, it was hard to keep up with the rising cost of *literally* everything. I ultimately decided to leave Canada for good and, as a Mexican national, benefitted from the TN visa program in the US. I still reminisce how much quality of life I had in Vancouver, though, but no matter how beautiful the city is, it's just not that livable with its gouging cost of living.
Very nice video, ultimately agents are not bad but you should always remember how they make money. In Kenya, I went to some agents who say they are free but they get commissions from pretty expensive schools in Canada, from my own research I was able to find much more affordable schools and if you are serious enough I think you can apply by yourself. Doing a lot of research on where you are going, jobs available in that city and reviews are also critical.
Canada is quite hard for young students as studying and working is not easy. Nevertheless, Canada has become a very interesting opportunity for people already married as one can study and the other one works.
I am an international undergrad studying in the US. I just wanna say your success depends on you. I don't know how it works in Canada. But if you fail in the US, you fail. They are not gonna pass you. I have seen a few international students fail last semester. I am pretty sure, the comeback is VERY hard once you fail. You need to pay money again, and maybe even have to take an extra semester. College/study is never easy. FYI, there is barely any international undergrad in my uni. If you are good at studying and determined, just believe in yourself
I’m a Born and Raised Nova Scotian, and this Province is basically the Hotel California; check in any time you want, but you can never leave. Hope to God I can move overseas to give my kids a better life
I am an international student living in Ontario, all of this is TRUE, living is extremely costly, specially housing. However I think it is possible to success, possible but not easy. I live well I am a software engineer, however at home my quality of life was better. I can always go back but I have a Canadian passport to get.
Great video, in 2017 I went there, sold my car and leaving behind my life in my country and study and live a new life in Canada. How disappointed I was, I spent 6 months there, enough, to see the scam the country is, you spend a lot lot of money in education, certification and they get a high skilled worker working in their minimum wage jobs!!; then you see the unemployment, the weather, the house prices and live the rent prices!!!
im a nurse working in Qatar i always wanted to come over Canada but as nurse. Therefore i went to an agency who were trying to convince me to be an international student in order to go there and after 2 years i can apply for permanent visa and stay there. Fortunately, i planed carefully about this and found that will pay more than i should do. So i decided to apply for work permit and be nurse aid first, go there, and later i can apply for RN.
A nurse’s aid salary is not enough to live in Canada. You will work 3 jobs to pay rent and utilities and food. Tbh work where you are now and invest your hard earned money. Do your homework before going to Canada.
I used to consider studying in Canada but I gave up on this idea because my home is just too far away and I cannot leave it behind just like that (I'm Eastern European). However, I still consider studying abroad so I do a lot of research online and I always, I mean always, stumble upon websites\articles advertising enrolment agencies for Indian students, and I would always be like why is this here? Canada long ago worked out that University entry was a backdoor means of obtaining citizenship. Other countries have also come to this deduction. If you are prepared to keep the nation's universities in business, you are welcome to come in. Don't forget to pay your fees!
🤔🤔 the experience as a international student is very subjective. Many people fail and many success really fast. The important to know if you want to come to Canada as a student is do your homework read and gather all the info to really know what you can face here, plan your budget and will be smooth and easy, and don't trust the agencies. I studied 3 years pay full price and I was working part time, didn't have to share room I lived plenty well even during covid. I graduated and I found a professional job super fast that even I was picking the company because many of them want me. Future international student don't worry ! it won't be easy but if you are prepare will be worthy 😊
I went to USA for my studies. I attended a few community colleges in Los Angeles and then a private university in Chicago back in 1990. My experience had been terrific. Nothing to complain about...smooth admission procedure, extremely helpful administration. Whereas I tried to get education in Canada first. I found the whole system very illogical and not friendly at all. So I went for USA.
I found that I had to pay 20K for 10 courses (1 year) + 10K for a Co-op internship that I struggle to find. The tuition fees are not well explained on my university's website. But what's infuriating is that I have to pay 10K for an internship in a company that might not even know my University.

Canada is a great country and gives easy pathways to PR. Canada is NOT for LAZY people who can't RESEARCH. Why would you invest thousands of dollars without personal research? No one will tell you the Pros and Cons of Canada only if you research. So if you pay an agent thousands of dollars to come to Canada and you end up in a weird situation its on YOU!. Don't just listen to one person, listen and read several blogs and be enlighten. That's the bitter truth.

People who work in Canada are hard working, people who work in India are lazy. Hahafa, first of all canada doesn't offer better opportunities, if 1000000000 immigrants appliead for a job for only 2% openings means it is a competitive market and remaining people can move out of Canada for better opportunity. There are very limit white collar jobs, if people are moving to Canada and just surviving on blue collar jobs for years then it is not worth it. Canada is absolutely over rated compared to other developed countries, I lived in Canada for 4 yrs and moved back to India. If i get a time and age I would try japan, germany instead.
I think a lot of universities in Canada, Australia and to a lesser degree, the US, depend on the higher tuitions paid by international students and out-of-state students. These higher tuitions allow them to charge their in-state students less. I think that the labor market size has to be factored into the calculation if you are planning on staying in the country where the university is located. Here are the statistics I pulled: TOP 4 destinations (2020 data) for international students and the current population of the host country: (1) USA 1,075,496 students, US population 2023 = 331 million (2) UK 551,495 students, UK population 2023 = 68 million (3) Canada 503,270 students, Canada population 2023 = 39 million (4) Australia 463,643 students, Australia population 2023 = 26 million. Canada has half the number of international students as the US but a little over 1/10th the population of the US, so if we equate employment with the size of the population (not a perfect match, but at least a ballpark idea) with the number of jobs available, then the chances of an international student getting a job in the US are much higher because the population (available jobs) is 10x that of Canada but the number of international students is only 2x that of Canada. I realize there are other factors involved - it may be easier for an international student to get into the university in Australia and Canada than in the US, but if I were an international student looking at going to college in one of these 4 countries, I would have done this research first before picking where I would go to school.
I came to Canada from Russia in 2013 to study Computer Science at a fairly respectable university. I must have done everything right huh? Unfortunately, no amount of research will prepare you for the brutal reality of the Canadian job market where even very experienced devs are a dime a dozen and often end up driving Uber or working as bartenders. To be fair, I did eventually find a job, and then another, got PR, Citizenship, bought a condo, yadda yadda. My life is alright now. However, the amount of stress I lived through makes it hard for me to recommend this path to anyone but the most desperate.
This is such a heartfelt and honest video. Good job man! Everything you’d noted here applies equally to Oz 🇦🇺 I’m an Aussie who was making good cash and had a career many envied back in Australia. But I would expect immigrants from the UK or Asia in Canada/Australia to strongly defend their choice 😂 Weather-wise, Australia beats Canada - maternity leave-wise, Canada beats Australia hands down. Australia is pretty isolated compared to Canada …mostly because Canada is next to the USA. Australia is overpriced in terms of groceries etc. and the extreme weather in Canada makes life expensive. Many Canadians move to the US for a reason. Australia is terrible with family reunions and visas for parents etc. There is a reason over 1 million Aussies prefer to live and work elsewhere - including myself - I was fortunate enough to get my PR in the US.
@@darreldennis7115 Aussies don’t really hate the US - I reckon it’s more of a grudging admiration instead. As a matter of fact there are quite a few Aussies in the US on work visas or as dual citizens. As for me, it was the career opportunities, the cost of houses, lower taxes, the cost of everyday living, the more stable currency (USD) and of course, that I already have the option of living in the States.
@@marcomongke3116 it’s great in the sense that studying in Oz could lead to a PR and hence a new citizenship option. PR applications are actually easier and cheaper in Canada for international students though. NZ & Australia tend to be very expensive even when compared to an expensive country like Canada - of course, the weather in Canada is lousy most of the year 😂
The challenge to today international students is the expensive living cost across Canada. 20 years ago was far easier to live and earn good life. The house price is too high to afford it by even local Canadian.
Most Indian students want PR (permanent residency). If USA offers a better deal than Canada, then they won't come to Canada. Unfortunately, this is not the case. For India, there is a 10 yr+ wait for EB green cards (and the queue is getting longer each year) so all the Indian students come to Canada instead for an easier PR path. Also, USA does not allow F-1 visa students to work off-campus unless it is course related (curricular practical training or optional practical training).
One thing students should know it is not going to be easy when we were students 40 years ago we were not allowed to work we had to make sure we had enough funds to live mostly from parents Indians are lucky to get loans from their government we were from Africa and Indian students did not get any loan preference was given to Africans come to the reality world look how many Indians come to these western country is it not better to study in your country and then move for more opportunities most of the people that is how they succeeded I thought India was great what has happened I honestly feel the young people of today are not real they want everything on the plate
I'd argue Canada makes it so US doesn't need to do a better offer. If some guy comes here from India - to use the same example as you - gets his qualifications bridged with courses etc., gets a bunch of work experience, and gets a passport that is slightly better than that of US and pushes his English much closer to that spoken in the US; that eventually lets him transfer to US and away from Canadian weather, taxes, and cost of living. US doesn't have to do anything - it gets the same guy with an upgrade. In return, Canada gets the guy's tuition fees to bridge his qualifications and as an employee for a few years paying taxes and enhanced CPP and helping one of its corporations function so it can continue to have a GDP. The fact that a lot of these guys are going to emigrate a second time is probably why the immigration target is so high. I don't seriously think they will ever change the system.
@@williaminnes6635 According to Statistics Canada, only about 30% of international students received PR's in Canada within 10 years in 2000's. In USA, PR queues are based on country of birth (India), not based on country of citizenship (Canada). Thus, India-born Canadians still need to wait 10+ years for their US employment based green cards.
Hi Merle, I am also planning to come to Canada within the next 4-5 months, So it would be appreciated , if you Could you share your company website, so that I can research and apply for a position later on, which is suitable for my skillset and prior working experience
This is a superb content, well done for the hard work to accomplished this. Max thanks for wonderful and exponential enlightenment and insight. Anyone who is not lazy, hard and smart working will make it to the top, Canada and her PR gives you a platform that you can't get within a shortest period of time (2 years) from any country to work your way to global top.
I'm an electrical engineer graduated from Waterloo university. Unfortunately, a lot of agencies in foreign countries take advantage of students and their families by having them invest in an education system that is not recognized by Canadian government. All accredited colleges and universities are recognized by the ministry of university and colleges in Canada. They all have a registration number that must be recognized and if not, then it is not an accredited university. Often they are just an informal education system that is not recognized by anyone around the world. This scam has been going on not just in Canada but around the world for years. It's up to the students and their families to do their own due diligence before investing in an education system that cost thousands of dollars. There are some very ruthless business individuals who work in these agencies, as well as these educational facilities that are not recognized. My suggestion is for you to do your research before paying a single penny and do not believe everything you hear from the agencies.
The answer is to go to a consultant who helps you make an informed decision, NOT an agent. However most people don't realize the difference, and choose the services of an agent, as it is often free or cheaper than that of a consultant. Remember when something is free YOU ARE THE PRODUCT..
the planning starts when you are still in your home not when you are already in the country and when uou want help seek only either a Regulated Canadien Consultant or an Immigration lawyer and even then always double check for red flags and do your own research..that's what most imprtant the RESEARCH. I myself dealt with a greedy af regulated consultant in my country , the irony is he is truly a regulated consultant with the College of Regulated Consultants, he nevr verified my application nor even took a look at it he transfer all the work to his agents and only comes to collect the money..
When you are fleeing your country with only your life to save, these inconveniences seem small. For some of us, it's either moving to Canada or dying in our home country. We're not fleeing for a better life, just for life.
My friends went to Canada and graduated from a university in Vancouver only to be told by the government that they were not getting their post graduation visas due to suspicions of them “not being a real student”. They had to leave as soon as they graduated and weren’t given the chance to work.
Most of the international students are coming to Canada not to earn canadian diploma or degree then go back to India or wherever they are from. They are here for PR and that's the goal they have mainly because they don't qualify for other economic immigration streams due to age and lack of experience etc... so they know what they are here for . Moreover, it's not stone age. People can have access to info like unemployment rates, job bank , etc etc to see beforehand to make their choice of destination. So, no point in blaming universities or government in that regard.. when I came in 2010 as a student we were not allowed to work off campus for the first 6 months. At least that has been changed and that is a positive approach from government. In addition, international students must open 10k worth of GIC in a canadian bank prior to getting visa issued. That money then disbursed monthly over a period of 1 year or so to support their cost of living. That's another approach from government to support students.. over all, it's a give and take policy. You are ( majority) coming as student with the end goal of getting PR here. And you should know its not easy as 123... because there are other categories for PR where people are hand picked based on their hard earned education and experience etc... so you are getting kinda easy walk through at an early age so get ready to sacrifice some for the better living later .
Here in Punjab there is not lot of awareness regarding this it's purely upto travel agents and not on student to chose the destination and diploma they want. I went to a travel agent to consult about Japanese study visa to study Japanese history. They kind of forced me to go to Canada. The travel agencies are not regulated here. It is a mess around here.
Not all the students come here to get pr and become Canadian slave just like u and others ..others seek good education so they can move to other countries and grow as an human being .people who have backup in India like business or any other backup just come here for an exposure to see if it is any better or not ..those who have not seen a better life in India or any other country like to stay here .so pr is not the last and only option ..if u are illetrate and want to stay one then u only choose pr .
Nobody said it was going to be easy. I came here in 2018 and struggled my way through but eventually made it. You can't lose focus and really push it the first 3-5 years. No matter what happens, canada is always going to be better than living in a 3rd world country. My country is listed 17 per capita crime 2023 list. Just checked. Canada isn't even in the top 100
Totally agree! If the person has good quality of life in his own country, should think and plan a lot before moving, because it is necessary to start from below.
Lol What makes you think living in Canada would always be better than living in a third world country ? I'm from Nigeria and there are millions of people living better than those who left the country for Canada. Only mentally colonised minds think like this which is exactly what they want.
@@adelabuidris6292 because I come from a third world country and I've been living in Canada for 5 years and now I'm a citizen of Canada and the benefits that I get here and also the freedom that I get here cannot be compared. What great content ya Max, I am so intrigued by your creativity skills and I already said this but thank you again for giving me a voice to be heard to talk about the current reality in 2022 about international studies in Canada. I love this video and it is already doing it's job, so many academic oriented students have bene reaching out to me and are now trying to put in more in-depth research about if they should pursue their education here or not and it is definitely a worthwhile thought. This video has already helped people and is going to be helping in many possible ways! :)

@vrindakhatore - Hey, just wanted to give my support to you. It takes courage to be overt and highlight these issues. All the very best for your endeavors!
The saddest thing here is that studies agencies never consider your immigration goals whatsoever. In my case, my agency only cared about me coming to Canada to study but never cared about making a comprehensive analysis of the probabilities to become a permanent resident. They sent me to one of the most overcompetitive cities in Canada and for sure, today, I would be a permanent resident if only I would've chosen another province. So my advice from all my experience which is still making me struggle a lot everyday, is to make a conscious research based on your current situation considering your CRS score and your future goals. Don't just believe that coming to Canada, getting your diploma and getting a qualified TEER 0,1,2 or 3 job, is the only thing that you may need. Focus on labour market, labour shortages, in-demand occupations, and PNPs, and for sure you will have a better spectre on this crucial journey of your lives. For sure you will have a lot of uncertainty, stress, anxiety, but after your get your ITA, all that will be just a bittersweet memory that have proven that your could do it. One last thing, keep in mind that if you are more than 30 years old, you will lose points every year, so don't wait as I did. BTW, I'm still pursuing my dream after 4 years of having landed. Best wishes to everybody.
Thank you for sharing your experience here Mauricio, you're absolutely right about how agents do not care about your long term immigration goals although I did share with him that my personal ambition was to benefit from a PR and use it for my long term goal i.e to enrol myself in a good university to pursue my dream of becoming a psychologist in the long run and I was heard but not guided right in the sense I feel fooled because I was not aware of the fact that international students are treated as cash cows not in just one but almost certainly in most of the colleges/universities here in Canada. I was aware of the fact how bad the private colleges can get and based my research on the same fact and found CBU because it was a publicly funded DLI and here I am and my fellow mates in a situation where even a public university has acted in the same manner, I just am slowly loosing trust in this country as a whole not just as a student but overall as my future in the long run because I am very ambitious student. I am glad you shared your real life experience here and not painting just a beautiful picture and this is only going to help me and other mates decide a better long run future for ourselves and not just focus on short term dollar success. I am back to India for a mental health break and decide where to take my life on from here and already in a debt of 22k dollars that I took for my education. Also, I am not complaining but addressing a big big issue and then be focused on solutions but It is really really good to hear that you are finally pursuing your dream in good time after the struggles you put yourself through, I am so happy for you Mauricio! Thank you again!
@@vrindakhatore thanks so much for that reply. I know how difficult is this journey… I think that regardless of our age, we all suffer the same way. I’ve learned a lot from this experience and for sure I’m advising anyone who asks me about my process, but what I’m still learning about is to deal with my mental health. I must admit that I struggle to stay stable enough to go to work but the feeling of hopelessness and uncertainty is present all the time in my mind. I hope this year everything is brighter for us, the working class composed by international students and workers who invested everything to pursue this dream. Best wishes. ❤️🇨🇦
Think the Gov is getting some sort of kickback from Cdn colleges. My bro paid about 6K/Y for his semester at Fanshawe college, The same semester for a temp foreign student was over $24,000- Cdn, + accommodation, food, etc expenses, but never mind the college, The main focus is the easy transition to work permit >>> P.R and almost none of the Int students ever return home after graduation. He told me that almost 100% of the students were from India / China, so Colleges are targeting over-populated states to bring in as many young/English speaking ppl as possible. While other countries are supporting their own citizens to have kids and a family, Canada's liberals think this is is a great solution to an ageing population in Canada, Revolting sh!t, if you ask me..
Having lived in Ontario, Canada for more then 30 years I have some perspective on this subject Majority of Canadian student go to UfT(science), Waterloo(Engineering),Queens(Commerce) and McMasters(Science) , I would not consider Sheridan as University There are 2 types of students aspiring for further studies in America/ Canada Majority of IIT students go to America for Masters Very few IIT students come to Canada for further studies The student coming to Canada apply to colleges, the degrees for these colleges have no value. Even students joining these colleges know that, they only join these colleges since they get entry to Canada Many such students drop out after 6 months, it works both ways for student and colleges. The student get a visa and colleges get revenue. I know of Students parent selling a parcel of land do that their children can go to Canada to follow their Canadian dream.
I was one of those dreamers, I came to Canada 15 years ago and left my amazing career back home. I would say that 15 years ago Canada was still a promising country for new immigrants, it wasn't a walk in a park but it wasn't impossible to establish a new life and career. Back then I felt I was more welcomed, i didn't feel being descriminated. Fast forward to 2015-2018, I can already start noticing that the country political landsacpe has been changing, not sure if that was an effect of what's happening in the US. Then, the cost of living skyrocketed (especially rent), health care services is deteriorating, big cities are becoming dirty and homeless population is becoming more evident, people are not as tolerant/welcoming, Then the pandemic happened, everything just went downhill. Housing crisis, mental health crisis, rising crime rate and limited job opportunities. Studies said that for you to afford a $2800 rent in Toronto and still enjoy a good quality of life, you need to have a full-time job that pays $40/hour. I been living here for 15 years, instead of getting higher paid job (while I am grateful to still have a job), I am earning much lower than pre-pandmic. Many companies are implementing pay-cuts in spite of the rising cost of living. I don't know if Canada will ever recover, I think the future in this country for newcomers is bleak.
I would say depending on what career you want and if citizenship is important to you there are other options. Few international students consider for example a college diploma in their preferred field. A diploma can be much cheaper than and ensure future acceptance to university. Yet a diploma in many countries have pathways from student to skilled migrant visa, PR and citizenship if you study an in demand occupation. Study load at college is usually lower allowing you to work part time to supplement your income. University can be pursued later with credits from your diploma and a discount if you have become a citizen (in some countries).
Dear I’m canada. Great video but why the American money? I was a professor teaching in Ontario for 4 years with an incredible placement rate due to my contacts no matter their origins. What should be mentioned is: if you are an immigrant, adapt! First speak English. Secondly leverage your colleagues that are not English. Thirdly, you will exit with your fellow classmates with the same useless paperwork so you need to do more during your classes. It’s not an immigrant issue because the Canadian students succeed the same. Welcome to Canada! We love you all
If it wasn’t for international students, many colleges and universities would need to close because there are enough kids going to colleges because of the high costs. Some colleges close their door in the USA because they can’t attract international students…
I got a math bachelor and doing aerospace MEng rn, I will say finding a job won't be a big problem for me, but I'll definitely go to the US once I have a chance. Many Canadians don't understand, this country is nothing without the US. Canada does look good on some data, but this country is so dependent, it got so much fancy data because it sacrifices a lot on many other significant disciplines since Canada can just leave them to its allies. This country is like a young naive girl doing a gender studies degree, showing off how happy her life is right now while complaining about how patriarchy destroys others' life. Many states in the US are more like countries than Canada is.
When Pierre Elliott Trudeau was the Prime Minister, Canada acted independently. It opposed the Vietnam War and admitted US draft dodgers. Canada transitioned to metric system and started socialized health care system. Canada established ties with People's Republic of China. The boy is nothing like his father.
@@smwk2017 I'd say China also starts to show its political and economic disadvantages ever since Xi is in charge, US also has a lot of funny stuffs happening every year, even though Trump was a big mouth and a clown online, he actually did pretty well on the economy part and he was the one that actually did some damages to China. I think we are witnessing all the super powers and developed countries declining. I just think the US has more to last longer, and I can't see in any way that Canada will actually become a leading country in the world, at least not in my lifetime. This pandemic really exposed everyone's weaknesses, I'm not sure if all these f up things just happened coincidentally or they were caused partially by the pandemic, but I'm glad that I can have some sense of how many hypocrites and dictators are.
Thanks for this video man. Students here are crazy about having education abroad which is fine when it comes to top tier universities like MIT, Harvard, Stanford, HULT, London business school etc. But the problem is students settle for very average colleges which might not be worth it. When we tell them these things they behave as if we are the ones who are naive and we don't understand the world. Basically they they think we are dumb and radical thinkers because we dare to speak against these practices done by western universities. But here people are simply delusional, they are so breainwashed that even if someone says some slightest argument against western world they think of it as a taboo. But hopefully they find this video and maybe they understand what's actually going on.
Please, if you're considering studying in Vancouver, think twice. Here everything is insanely expensive, and there's a HUGE housing problem. It is hell out there. I feel terrible for an international student who has to pay 1000$ for a room in Vancouver + food + bills, + tuition fees. Is it worth it?
Canada is an developing country who focus in millionaires immigrant and rich investors at the end new immigrants should find their on way to make it by a way or another best luck for everyone
Most of the blame should stay with the consultants in the home country and the educational institutions in Canada. Canadian government never promised anything to these students.

When I arrived at the office. that guy told me that It was a misunderstood. and now. I don't have a job and I can do anything :). Oh, Canada how a wonderful place :)
90% is these students are coming to diploma mills, and there's no one else to blame. Get admission to an actual university, and you'll see the difference right away with more diversity, career opportunities, and better education.
@@stuntbased and to be clear, this shit system will still treat you like garbage regardless of if you go degree mill or accredited university. It might seem like it hates foreigners or is racist, but it sucks for people whose ancestors have lived here for generations too. It's just the way it is.

We had a student from Thailand last year. I told her about the cost of living in Canada but she didn’t really care. Her mom and dad have lots of money and she got a $100,000 scholarship for university. She preferred Canada because it was not as hot as Thailand. Immigrants are very competitive and willing to work hard. The students coming here are heavily backed financially. They see Canadians as their servants because we are paid to house them. Canadians will be pushed out by immigration eventually because we don’t have the salaries to compete with foreign money.
I'm Mexican, I live in Mexico and I worked at scotiabank, so basically I would do the job of a Canadian banker earning like a low wage Mexican employee, and many students are in this position not only students, regular people are struggling everyday to make ends meet, companies only want money they don't care people.

Today's Canada will be very different I know but I remember the places my father visited as though I went there myself. Good genuine people.
And by moving there, and with more Indiand moving there, after falling in love with it -- because it was originated by whites, more Indians moved there and then ruined it. Get it. Do you know who are not good genuine trustworthy people -- you and your farther and your entire family. Your father was able to scam those good genuine people.

❤ Thanks for the informative video. It gave me a new perspective on studying in Canada. I’m happy that all studies are free in Finland for Finns and EU/EEA citizens. I’m one of the lucky ones! 🙏🏻
Moving to the US and working there is not easy for Canadians, or else 37 million Canadians would have already done it. YOU are not special, and US won't give YOU out of everyone else a citizenship to move in.
I wish I had seen this video before completing my studies in Japan, because I can see similar things to this video that are being done in Japan as well.. education, is a business.
I used to work with a woman from India who asked me why our government makes it so easy for so many to immigrate .I currently live in the US but was born in Canada.. Many from India migrate to Canada and then immigrate to the US. Most want to be legal so go thru legal means. Keep in mind that arranged marriage is most common in India.....I know another Indian woman living in the US married an Indian man living in Canada. After a month or two she moved back to the US where she works and does not visit her husband but they are still married and I am sure he will be moving to the US in future and bringing the family. Even though millions enter through the US southern border illegally it is not the best way as you are not legal and can be deported, can't vote, and can't collect social security or medicare..
That's called "contract marriage". Generally, A foreign woman marry a non native for the economic benefits. generally they don't have sexual relationship. One of my cousins did it in South Africa to stay there.
If I was an international student looking to study abroad, I’d go to Germany instead of Canada or the USA. Germany gives free tuition to international students and the cost of living is much lower than in Canada
That country never needs people with knowledge/experience, scholars or talents. They need cheap labor, so their tactics is abusing international students as cows to milk their budget, then after spending a huge amount of money to boost their economy & tax, you work as general labourers to survive. They make themselves look like a first-world country, whereas product availability is scarce, the available land for housing is largely occupied by speculators who want to keep the price rising. They don't have jobs, so they masquerade their job market with the , the sectors that provides most of the jobs are construction, drivers, factory machine operator, salespeople. Why, because the digital transformation is worse than South East Asia. Digital Marketing is not even a thing in Canada, whereas in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, they have: Tiki, Shoppee, Lazada... Talking about software industry, you either mention Silicon Valley, India, or South East Asia, rarely anyone talk about technology development in Canada. There is no such thing as Canada dream. Talking about dream, people mention America, where free market is available, product availability is widespread, and you don't need tons of paper just to open a small store or buying a car. What a weird country. Inviting scholars/professionals into their land, then treat them with disdain, while still complaining about development and economy.

Not true . The housing , rent , car insurance is very expensive in Canada . Salary is low and taxes are high . You won’t be able to save much . Jobs are also very difficult to find for qualified immigrants . Also climate is very cold and life is very lonely as people don’t generally interact with each other in Canada much . Plus you will be leaving your friends , family and relatives behind in your home country . So life will be very lonely . Unless you are from a war torn country like Syria or Afghanistan , don’t ever think of immigrating to Canada . BRW I’m an Indian living in Canada .
Born & raised in Canada, moved in my 20’s but always planned to move back. Lived in 4 other other countries and will never move back after seeing healthcare crisis 1st hand. Mom, was a nurse in BC who paid her taxes for over 50 years. All diagnostic tests and endoscopic procedures were scheduled horrendously far apart. She died without seeing an Oncologist even once. It’s a rationed, Govt monopoly. Public sector only offers ONE insurance provider - Provincial Medicare Insurance Act. Other countries public sectors, like Germany, Japan, allow MANY competing non profit insurance providers to stay efficient and provide insurance. Then, on top of that, a parallel private sector isn’t even allowed to help alleviate the stress on the public sector. Can’t wait for the Supreme Court of Canada to hear the Cambie Case and put an end to the Govt healthcare monopoly. Don’t love there until this crisis is over. Maybe 5-10 years, hopefully.
Canada is not US, period. It does not have strong economy or infrastructure like US does which can absorb international students the way US does. I studied and worked in US for 10 years and decided to permanently move to India. After living in US for a decade, India hit hard even though I was well prepared and had personal reasons. So I decided to move to Canada, in 2021 I was even able to get a job on work permit and landed here in October 2021. Even after landing in Canada at a high paying job, it was so hard to get rental unit and a car. My job was impacted 2 weeks back, and since then struggling to even get interview calls. I work in a niche field and there are very few such positions in Canada and even PhD folks enter that arena. Even before layoff I was applying from last 4 months but no calls. In India and US, I was able to get interview call and job offer within 2 to 5 weeks. Many people have suggested me here to dump my specialization and work on generic roles which brings 60 or 70K per year. But the thing is, I cannot live with that money. I can make that 60 to 70K CAD with my niche skillset in India, where rent for 2 BHK is like 400 CAD/month. I am seriously considering moving out of Canada even without getting passport, either to US or India. India might be a high priority thing, as in US I cannot get green card due to long wait and in India at least I would be around parents.

Canadian universities are very costly, In india I did MBA from good university, in my B school 95% students got job very easily in campus placements. My friends who have gone to do Masters in Canada and US paid very huge money for fees and till now nobody has decent job. Going abroad without knowing facts is very dangerous. Plan before you take action.
For the last few years Canada has been running a Ponzi scheme economy . Houses and education and the finances that surround those 2 industries is what is sustaining this country . Canada on purpose takes more immigrants and students every year than they can ever hope to build enough infrastructure for. One would think you would build it before they come. But no that makes too much common sense, so here we are with condos that cost more than a mansion did only a decade ago and students sleeping on the streets.
Yes canada is indeed a big scam. That loser country will take everything out of new comers. I wish I had known before. I guess I got screwed like many....Cannot take it back.

Yeah, the reason I go Canada is to go America.
Almost every computer science engineering people I know, domestic or international, went to or are going to the states

Canada needs young immigrants to pay taxes/CPP to our wealthy boomer population and to keep our real estate pyramid scheme going. I was born in Canada and want to have a family but it is not possible for me in Canada. I would love to leave.
Yeah you’re right
Indeed, the real estate is just crazy. A very less populated country but still can't have a stable real estate market.
That's why I don't want to study there anymore
Did you vote for Trudeau?
True though
This is great content, there are TH-camrs that moved to Canada but have a lot of money and they are deceiving people by showing them their incredible huge houses and incredible lives, I hope that more people sees videos like this before moving to Canada.
These so called TH-camrs don't give the true picture ...even they lie about their so called money ...they never even give the true picture ...one such idiot is Potato Talkies

Appreciate it!
Most of those people must have started from scratch when they landed here. Not everyone wants to talk about that though.
Tell the students to have a class action suit against Sean fraser !
As parent from US, I can assure you UBC is an elite school, selling is not lying at least. Immigration is on the mind of many asian parents.
Good points you mentioned Scott
Maybe your problems stem from the fact that you don't know how to spell "centre".

Yeah, it's possible but takes a character
2014 is almost 10 years ago. Things might have changed since.
My friend, do you not see your mind is in a bubble? Its embarrassing.

How do you get your pr that quick? Is it because you came from french speaking countries?
Can I ask for your kind opinion? Was it worth it? Cause I have to decide on going to Canada as an international student asap🥴🤦

I think you already know the answer. But let me state it again: For Canadians, international students are source of income
Bruh, most Indians I know in Canada, are working in some good fields. Don't be a fool, and tell your story.
It depends on the industry
I think the best way to succeed in canada is to do a lot of research on your own ; go for cheaper schools ; go for strategic courses that would finally lead you to PR ; network while in school go for job fairs meet people ; check the school and the province ; every school would tell you that they have high acceptance rates etc
Canada is a DIY country and process ✨
Thank you. The motivation
For sure!
Sorry for asking, what is PR?
@@elieh.studio permanent Residence

I feel like I’m Canada, employees don’t have much benefits to be honest. In some places, you can’t even take your whole 3weeks one shot! Also during summer and end of the year, it’s like a war zone with colleagues just so you can have some days off.

You are getting diversity with Indian, Bangladesh and other Asian countries students, what diversity are you missing? Africans? Lations?

No Indian students are going to Canada to actually study. They go there to stay there and never come back.

You have a point
Yet, minimum wage security guards and janitors have all made their way here. Canada has willingly turned itself into a third world country.
I imagine, it can be difficult but after a few years you grow your network and feel more confident in your future

Yes, good point

Wow! Really?
I found that I had to pay 20K for 10 courses (1 year) + 10K for a Co-op internship that I struggle to find.
The tuition fees are not well explained on my university's website.
But what's infuriating is that I have to pay 10K for an internship in a company that might not even know my University.

I always get only negative news about the UK in terms of studying
@@ayat5483 don't know about PR but lot of students are facing issue with getting part time jobs. I have seen lot of Oct 2022 intake students struggling to get part time. The major reason being that lot of student getting admitted to smaller town Uni along with that influx of large number of international students. I would suggest students that if you are planning to study in UK then choose Uni in major cities with big population in that getting part time will be easier.

@@ko-Daegu When you do your research you won’t fall for Bloggers, TikTok, Instagram, Social media short sweet videos about Canada that are not detailed! That’s not research!
This is very informative. Expectation vs reality. Good to know what to expect. An informed decision will prepare the migrant.

Here are the statistics I pulled:
TOP 4 destinations (2020 data) for international students and the current population of the host country:
(1) USA 1,075,496 students, US population 2023 = 331 million
(2) UK 551,495 students, UK population 2023 = 68 million
(3) Canada 503,270 students, Canada population 2023 = 39 million
(4) Australia 463,643 students, Australia population 2023 = 26 million.
Thank you for your comment
Golden rule: Never trust an agent. Research and apply to colleges online by yourself. Know what you are getting into.
Facts
Can I ask you why you decided to move to the US? I thought alot of Australians hate US.
Isn't Australia great for international students?
Thank you! I'm prepping a video about Australia vs Canada
True, it's global though
Most Indian students want PR (permanent residency). If USA offers a better deal than Canada, then they won't come to Canada. Unfortunately, this is not the case. For India, there is a 10 yr+ wait for EB green cards (and the queue is getting longer each year) so all the Indian students come to Canada instead for an easier PR path. Also, USA does not allow F-1 visa students to work off-campus unless it is course related (curricular practical training or optional practical training).
Yeah, but it's more difficult in the states
One thing students should know it is not going to be easy when we were students 40 years ago we were not allowed to work we had to make sure we had enough funds to live mostly from parents Indians are lucky to get loans from their government we were from Africa and Indian students did not get any loan preference was given to Africans come to the reality world look how many Indians come to these western country is it not better to study in your country and then move for more opportunities most of the people that is how they succeeded I thought India was great what has happened I honestly feel the young people of today are not real they want everything on the plate
Chinese students choose Canada for the same reason!

Research is crucial, it can save lives!
The answer is to go to a consultant who helps you make an informed decision, NOT an agent. However most people don't realize the difference, and choose the services of an agent, as it is often free or cheaper than that of a consultant. Remember when something is free YOU ARE THE PRODUCT..
Consultants and lawyers do the same
the planning starts when you are still in your home not when you are already in the country and when uou want help seek only either a Regulated Canadien Consultant or an Immigration lawyer and even then always double check for red flags and do your own research..that's what most imprtant the RESEARCH.
I myself dealt with a greedy af regulated consultant in my country , the irony is he is truly a regulated consultant with the College of Regulated Consultants, he nevr verified my application nor even took a look at it he transfer all the work to his agents and only comes to collect the money..
For sure, it's hard to find decent people these days
When you are fleeing your country with only your life to save, these inconveniences seem small. For some of us, it's either moving to Canada or dying in our home country. We're not fleeing for a better life, just for life.

That’s the only scenario in which I could recommend moving here…

Good points
Very intelligent input, thank you very very much
I agree
Hi! For sure, great that we got to amplify this matter :)
Yes, this is why I decided to address this
Thank you for sharing your experience here Mauricio, you're absolutely right about how agents do not care about your long term immigration goals although I did share with him that my personal ambition was to benefit from a PR and use it for my long term goal i.e to enrol myself in a good university to pursue my dream of becoming a psychologist in the long run and I was heard but not guided right in the sense I feel fooled because I was not aware of the fact that international students are treated as cash cows not in just one but almost certainly in most of the colleges/universities here in Canada.
It's an economical solution for sure
Having lived in Ontario, Canada for more then 30 years I have some perspective on this subject
Majority of Canadian student go to UfT(science), Waterloo(Engineering),Queens(Commerce) and McMasters(Science) , I would not consider Sheridan as University
There are 2 types of students aspiring for further studies in America/ Canada
Majority of IIT students go to America for Masters
Very few IIT students come to Canada for further studies
The student coming to Canada apply to colleges, the degrees for these colleges have no value. Even students joining these colleges know that, they only join these colleges since they get entry to Canada
Many such students drop out after 6 months, it works both ways for student and colleges. The student get a visa and colleges get revenue.
I know of Students parent selling a parcel of land do that their children can go to Canada to follow their Canadian dream.
So you wouldn't recommend to join any college in Canada since the degree's you get there have no value in Canadian job market?
I think school means nothing, success is multifaceted
Hi! there's great opportunities outside Toronto
Yeah
Dear I’m canada. Great video but why the American money? I was a professor teaching in Ontario for 4 years with an incredible placement rate due to my contacts no matter their origins. What should be mentioned is: if you are an immigrant, adapt! First speak English. Secondly leverage your colleagues that are not English. Thirdly, you will exit with your fellow classmates with the same useless paperwork so you need to do more during your classes. It’s not an immigrant issue because the Canadian students succeed the same. Welcome to Canada! We love you all

Thanks for this video man. Students here are crazy about having education abroad which is fine when it comes to top tier universities like MIT, Harvard, Stanford, HULT, London business school etc. But the problem is students settle for very average colleges which might not be worth it. Hi there it would be greatful if make another part of this video on international students from Bangladesh. A good number of them are living a lavish lifestyle due to black money their parents have earned. But still you might find number of students facing similar educational scams.
I'm not too familiar with this
hi, I am from Bangladesh. Are you talking about "Begum para"? aka Heaven of black money
True, some are, but some are not
I'm Mexican, I live in Mexico and I worked at scotiabank, so basically I would do the job of a Canadian banker earning like a low wage Mexican employee, and many students are in this position not only students, regular people are struggling everyday to make ends meet, companies only want money they don't care people.
There has to be more conversations around this
I am from India. My father visited Canada in 1961 on the Colombo plan. He was a chemical engineer,so visited Sarnia,Alberta and I like him fell in love with canda. Today's Canada will be very different I know but I remember the places my father visited as though I went there myself. Good genuine people.
Yeah, nothing stays the same
Almost everyone there are Indians now lol it has changed surely

How old is your dad now?
And by moving there, and with more Indiand moving there, after falling in love with it -- because it was originated by whites, more Indians moved there and then ruined it. Get it. Do you know who are not good genuine trustworthy people -- you and your farther and your entire family. Your father was able to scam those good genuine people.
6:35 these foreigners "expect" us Canadians to pay for their life choices through our government using our taxpayer money. The entitlement these foreigners have is beyond me and honestly I'm shocked
Not everyone is like that. I actually pay taxes as I run a business and employ Canadians
We honestly don't give a sh-- about your stupid country with 0 quality of life. It's a scam.
Don't be a karen
They are paying thousands in fees , They just expect the truth .
❤ Thanks for the informative video. It gave me a new perspective on studying in Canada. I’m happy that all studies are free in Finland for Finns and EU/EEA citizens. I’m one of the lucky ones! 🙏🏻

As an international student my goal now is to get my PR and Citizenship and move to US.
I hope it works out for you!
Moving to the US and working there is not easy for Canadians, or else 37 million Canadians would have already done it. YOU are not special, and US won't give YOU out of everyone else a citizenship to move in.
@@johncam8420 Just wish me luck bro. Peace.
I wish I had seen this video before completing my studies in Japan, because I can see similar things to this video that are being done in Japan as well.. education, is a business.
All business
Never mind this video...there are lots of other videos.
you are doing great work. expose everything
I will, it's multidimensional though
I wonder why they do that
That's called "contract marriage".
Yes, but if you want to stay in Germany, it's more difficult, I made a video in the past
Germany gives free education to everyone..locals too.
Thank you for the comment

Wow... sorry about this, so heartbreaking
You have a point

Canadian universities are very costly, In india I did MBA from good university, in my B school 95% students got job very easily in campus placements. My friends who have gone to do Masters in Canada and US paid very huge money for fees and till now nobody has decent job. Going abroad without knowing facts is very dangerous. Plan before you take action.
Yes, research is necessary
Big waste of money and time for a shity country.
It's also to address labor shortages
Yes canada is indeed a big scam. That loser country will take everything out of new comers. I wish I had known before. I guess I got screwed like many....Cannot take it back.
You're doing a great service. Keep up the good work.

Where the international students told they had to research the costs of living in Canada? I agree with this video..but I’m Canadian and also homeless. I simply can’t understand how anyone would believe that it is all free. There is also an irony here that can’t be overlook, because an Indian student is likely from the higher echelon of India to be able to pay the price. … sigh,

@@ImCanada doesn’t do much for my life at all at the moment. So in my most humble and laymen way I say to you Mr. educated, a genius that can not tie his shoes is not a genius at all.
