you forgot to mention that the s2000 was assembled exclusively in by the dedicated employees at only one location at the Takanezawa factory in Tochigi prefecture, Japan. The s2000, like the ITR had hand polished cylinder walls and 50/50 weight distribution due to its longitudinal engine. Whats even more crazy is that Honda knowingly lost money on every s2000 that they sold but they did it purely for the passion of engineering and delivering out a true drivers car. In such an industrialized era, I doubt we will see an s2000 successor with such attention to detail. The s2000 will remain as Honda's icon car.
Sepehr S2k are amazing cars but im gonna disagree and say that the Honda’s R cars are their true icons. They lost money on every single R they built - all civic and Integra type R’s and of course the insanely amazing NSX-R.

+MrLighteningjoe Well in terms of pure speed the Prelude is definitely faster thats for sure. But the CRX started off as a spin off from the civic with a mid-engine front wheel drive which was quite different, and it handles amazingly especially with its super light weight. Then we got the CRX Del Sol afterwards which was pretty much Honda's MX-5. I actually quite like the Prelude, but i just dont think there's too much to go off unlike the Integra and Civic which had quite a legacy. It kinda remained the same for the most part till it got killed off by the Accord coupe which was unfortunate. Really wish they made another prelude, it was a great car nonetheless.

Awesome! I love hearing stories of folks having as much fun with their Ss as I do! Had mine for 12 years and 180 000km! Practically trouble-free! And I drive it >hard< (but smooth).
I bought my first S2000 in 2007, it was an 2003 AP1, loved it but the suspension was weird. I have owned this AP2 2006 for 12 years now (yellow with a hard top) and I love it. Low maintenance, high fun, draws looks and thumbs up. Not the fastest car but so much fun to drive and it has the best transmission I have ever driven. I'm closing in my 50s now and I don't know if I will ever sell this car.
My Uncle has an AP2 from 2007, bought it brand new and he stores it at his lake house in Arizona. Only 18k miles on it, it’s completely a dream to drive. Hope to own one myself, one day!
No, they're different things. The Type S has a specific suspension geometry that isn't shared with the CR, kept the thinner 245 tires, and kept the folding soft top as opposed to the hard top that the CR got.
@@quincygaming9529 Still loving it! Some people complain about the seats, the storage space, the lack of cupholders, but honestly idc. I dont really eat or drink when I drive, it holds just enough for groceries, and while the seats arent crazy comfy, they arent that bad either. And as far as performance, its still fun to rev all the way to redline, vtec is still fun to play with, the rear is twitchy enough to slide when I want it to but its never out of control The brakes definitely need an upgrade, vtec needs to be tuned lower (its so far up in the rev range its over right when it starts), and the exhaust I have drones like a motherfucker and rattles the whole car (bought it like that unfortunatley) But yeah overall Super fun, practical enough, and the only complaints I do have are minor
@@quincygaming9529 Also, I know everyone wants to buy a million aftermarket parts with their cars nowadays, but the S2000 is definitley not that car. I mean you can, but without FI its hard to make extra power, and new bumpers and panels and wings cost a fortune (and everyone runs voltex so it all looks the same anyways) tldr, if you wanna get your wrench on and custom your car, its better to get a miata and supercharge/boost it if you want a more refined car and are ok with stock, the S2000 is great (not that I have anything against miatas, the 2 other people I ride with also drive miatas)
Watching this in 2021. I didn't realize how much of a ThiccBoi you were back then. So happy for your new health turn man. Really awesome to see you progressing in life. ❤️
The S2000 is the most distinctive car that I’ve ever driven. It gives you a feeling that no other car can duplicate. I still own a 2002 S2000 now and I’m planing to keep it for a long time.
That was a excellent video. I got to ride in one of those 2004 models at night on a back twisties road. I thought nothing of it because it was a "Honda" When that V-tech kicked in it felt and sounded like a small V-8. The driver tore throw the 45 mph turns at just over 100 mph!!! If he lost it we would go off the road and fly off a 3 foot ditch into a farmers muddied filed, Probably catapulted the S-2000 into flips and rolls of death and mayhem . When we got to a stop sign that was a three way Y, the drive started to do donuts. At that time in our lives there was never anyone on these back woods roads at that time of the night. He must have don at lest 14 revolutions until getting it straightened out and launching back through the twisites like a laser guided missile and up the hill back to where we started. I got out and my legs were shacking, and I was in love. I never looked at Honda again as a economy car company. My other friend had a 1998 Honda Civic with type R and Acura Intrega Type R which he drove very conservatively. So I was no stranger to the company, just never knew the history of them and the power they had until the S-2000. This video brought back a flood of good memories. Thanks man. keep up the great work.
I paid 10K for my AP1 and i absolutely fell in love with it. i origionally bought it to swap the motor into my hyundai accent WRC project, but after driving the s2000 for 5 minuites, i was in love.
Had one for three years, most fun I ever had in a car. Don't regret much but I do regret selling this car, nothing comes close to the joy of redlining a car that you know is designed to be driven that way. Hope to get another one day
You are 100% correct. I have this “conversation” with fellow Australians regularly. Most people want 15000km service intervals and fuel economy with room for the family. Not v8 sedans and high revving drop tops. The ones who do buy cocksters and MX5s or euro trash now days.
why is the music in the background so hypnotizing, it puts you into state of thinking or something. I even remember how it sounds after I watched a donut video.
S2000!!!! 20 years later, the Z3s, Miatas, and Boxters of the early 2000's look quite aged. The simple S2000 design still looks great!

My dream car that became reality 15 years later! Still my favorite car that I have owned
My Uncle has an AP2 from 2007, bought it brand new and he stores it at his lake house in Arizona. Only 18k miles on it, it’s completely a dream to drive. Hope to own one myself, one day!
Fun fact: The S2000 CR was called Type S in Japanese.
No, they're different things. The Type S has a specific suspension geometry that isn't shared with the CR, kept the thinner 245 tires, and kept the folding soft top as opposed to the hard top that the CR got.
Best car ever made and even thousands of years from now it'll still be the best car ever made.
Alanis calm down bud
Alanis didn't you watch the video if it wasn't for the Ford model t none of this would be possible
That's like saying if it weren't for my alcoholic dad, I wouldn't be here lol.
I was a teenager when a car came out my favorite car ever and steal until this day is my favorite car, I wish Honda will bring us s2000 back again
Finally bought my 04 S2000 Im so excited, Ive been dreaming of owning one and practicing in one since I was like 16
How is it? I'm 22 and am saving up for one
@@quincygaming9529 Still loving it! Some people complain about the seats, the storage space, the lack of cupholders, but honestly idc. I dont really eat or drink when I drive, it holds just enough for groceries, and while the seats arent crazy comfy, they arent that bad either.
And as far as performance, its still fun to rev all the way to redline, vtec is still fun to play with, the rear is twitchy enough to slide when I want it to but its never out of control
The brakes definitely need an upgrade, vtec needs to be tuned lower (its so far up in the rev range its over right when it starts), and the exhaust I have drones like a motherfucker and rattles the whole car (bought it like that unfortunatley)
But yeah
overall
Super fun, practical enough, and the only complaints I do have are minor
@@quincygaming9529 Also, I know everyone wants to buy a million aftermarket parts with their cars nowadays, but the S2000 is definitley not that car.
I mean you can, but without FI its hard to make extra power, and new bumpers and panels and wings cost a fortune (and everyone runs voltex so it all looks the same anyways)
tldr, if you wanna get your wrench on and custom your car, its better to get a miata and supercharge/boost it
if you want a more refined car and are ok with stock, the S2000 is great
(not that I have anything against miatas, the 2 other people I ride with also drive miatas)
Daddy Pumphrey 😍😭❤
Watching this in 2021. I didn't realize how much of a ThiccBoi you were back then. So happy for your new health turn man. Really awesome to see you progressing in life. ❤️
Great Scot! Can you even imagine how a high reving 5 cylinder VTEC engine would have sounded?
"The fool is running a Honda 2000" RIP Jesse.
The S2000 is the most distinctive car that I’ve ever driven. It gives you a feeling that no other car can duplicate. I still own a 2002 S2000 now and I’m planing to keep it for a long time.
That's awesome! I've had my '02 forever! I could never sell it...
Omg guys I have an 02 as well!!!!!
Keep it forever man
After watching this it really makes me miss my S2000 so much!!! I had an original 2000 s2k ugh I need to get another one.
6:00 I find it ironic that there is a Ferrari in a Lamborghini dealership.
how the hell did you even notice that lol
Trade in? Happens a lot.
Hell if you want to buy a Lamborghini in Las Vegas you don’t even go to a Lamborghini dealer.
Hitting them with that "Are You Afraid of the Dark" from Nickelodeon Classic 😎👌. Now give me MITSUBISHI 3000GT!!!
'Mitsubishi 3000GT' is pronounced 'Fake Toyota Supra' ;) #Triggered
A man of culture I see. Was scrolling to see if anybody else caught that.

I paid 10K for my AP1 and i absolutely fell in love with it. i origionally bought it to swap the motor into my hyundai accent WRC project, but after driving the s2000 for 5 minuites, i was in love.
Donut media did u remember my comment saying that I love u guys well Imma comment this again saying that I love u more.
After watching nearly all the Up to Speed videos, I'd like to see how'd they tackle motorcycles. Perhaps Ducati or Kawasaki.
Yeah i need a up to speed on the fireblade
Had one for three years, most fun I ever had in a car. Don't regret much but I do regret selling this car, nothing comes close to the joy of redlining a car that you know is designed to be driven that way. Hope to get another one day
Most cars are boring af today... maybe thats cuz ppl boring af these days too
tommy d u b b s Facts
its because most north americans prefer automatics and Suvs 😡 Vehicles with no soul*...
but we do have the dodge demon
Johnathon Poindexter price point is not to be appreciated however
You are 100% correct. I have this “conversation” with fellow Australians regularly.
Most people want 15000km service intervals and fuel economy with room for the family. Not v8 sedans and high revving drop tops. The ones who do buy cocksters and MX5s or euro trash now days.
I am insanely blessed to own one 🙏🏽
why is the music in the background so hypnotizing, it puts you into state of thinking or something. I even remember how it sounds after I watched a donut video.
Most awaited video
parvathi Mudundi literally
