I am still an owner of the S2000 since 2005. It is very reliable but not very practical. It is a paper weight in my garage since I dont daily it. I do enjoy the fact you dont see them on the street that much. I am assuming is because they are getting a bit rare since they are either getting into accidents by folks that can afford them or people like me that just keep them in a capsule till it is time to play. Either thumbs up by drivers and little kids lol or even people that just straight up telling me that they always wanted a S or miss it. I am proud to own it even if the hype of the S has been dying slowly.
Since the first day driving my S2K I've been getting so many looks and compliments it's cool that people realize the Craftmenship and dreams of creating the S2k.
The motor (if in healthy condition) can hold 20+ lbs of boost despite its 11.5:1 compression. Very reliable cars. If you're talking about blowing rears because someone boosts it and then launches it with reckless abandon then that's not really the cars fault.
I bought my 2004 S2000 (silver, red/black interior) in 2011 for $17000, (had 18000 miles on it) Ten years later it has 40000 miles, all original, I get offers of 15k/18k for it, I have not come across one like mine for less than 20k and the prices are going up.......
Original AP1 version 2000-2003 were a 2 liter not 2.2 liter v-tech. But they reved to 9k. when they stroked it for the AP@ it went to 2.2 liter but the redline went to 8k. There is nothing like a production car screaming at 9k.
@@1HeatWalk True but I can do 150 supposedly in my AP!, what do I need the speed for. But there is no sound like a naturally aspirated engine revving to 9k.
Was a really hard choice between an s2000 and a Z3M. But the bmw was 6k under what it was worth and supercharged so went with that. Still want to own an s2000 as it was what I drooled over when I was 14.
I'm very happy to own an S2000, it was one of dream car under the GTR R32 or 33. Now I actually have one I love the car, the handling, and the VTEC scream
I have an 03 ap1 with 39k miles on it! first car i learned to drive stick with and first “sports” car ive ever driven. absolutely in love with the car sadly the motors piston rings were toast nd it needed a rebuild at 38k :( i did not want to sell to so i just decided to go along with a complete rebuild upgraded ap2 banjo bolts ap2 valve retainers and keepers moddifed chain tentioner act pressure plate with oem disc so if i ever craved more power in the future she will be able to put the power down with no issues. for anyone wanting to buy an s2000 specifically one with the F20C motor make sure youget one that isnt burning oil the cylinders are coated with frm which helps it rev up to 9 grand but is SUPER sensitive to maintance (oil changes) dont make the mistake of buying a already messed up car like me:( thankfully i live close to this performance shop called inline proformance they took very good care of me they know these motors inside and out. everyone that already has one continue to drive it and take care of it dont ever let it go! and for people that are on the look out for one dont go buying the first “clean” title one you see keep your options open and i wish you goodluck on your search.

I've seen spoon tops without the ducktail and I don't know if that's custom work or if there's two variations of the spoon top with that ducktail third brake light. I'd have to figure out what to do with the headlights because I like AP2 over the AP1 but I've never liked the shape of the headlights at all. Most likely go with some 12 or 13 in Dayton's 2 bar knock off, nothing bigger than a 15 though. Making it essentially a miniaturised bomb with that sloped back deck. And I'd get it wrapped I wouldn't care for paint if it's a daily driver, Heck if I had the money I'd go through Maaco paint jobs every few months, play around with extravagant mixing options, see how far they let me go.
0:56 NOOOO! The AP1 (1999 JDM/2000-2003) came with a roaring 2 LITER ENGINE!! Europe & Japan kept the F20C engine all through the S2000's life cycle where North America got the revised 2.2 LITER F22C1 in 2004 until the end of its life cycle. God, man, you cocked that up big time! Other than that, very informative and everything else is very accurate with respect to performance & ego 😂

I never plan on selling this thing :) Something someone told me "Ive never met someone who sold theirs and said 'I'm glad I sold it'". I've gone through 3 other secondary cars but this one is staying :D Great video, only correction is the original S2K came out with the 2.0 and then switched to the 2.2 for the Ap2
Recently bought my S2000 5 months ago in spa yellow. As of 12/12/2021, I have 21,800 miles on it. The only modification is a skunk 2 catback. I want to boost it so bad but Idk if I should. I love this car though and I don't think I'm ever going to sell it.
One of my dreams is to take the engine/trans out of an S2000 and install it in an AE86. I think that motor is the closest we can get to the engine Bunta put in Takumi's car.

Watched this video when it came out, got my red s2k a month ago. It’s worth it
Actually, it came with a 2.0L. The 2.2L didn't come out until 2004 in the North American market.
Ap2 is still fantastic. The torque bump is apparent immediately between the two and 8k is still a screamer.
what's the best year you think? my budget is 20k and under and I am planning to daily drive it.
Because of the 2.2. The AP2 is actually faster than the AP1.
@@1HeatWalk True but I can do 150 supposedly in my AP!, what do I need the speed for. But there is no sound like a naturally aspirated engine revving to 9k.
Im really close from upgrading from a prelude to an s2000 🙏🏾
Go for it you won't regret it
Was a really hard choice between an s2000 and a Z3M. But the bmw was 6k under what it was worth and supercharged so went with that. Still want to own an s2000 as it was what I drooled over when I was 14.
Honda S2K is straight Bitchin🤌🏾🤌🏾
the s2000 is my dream car i been in love with it for years 🤤
Hell yeah still want one.
I seen a s2k today on my way to school low key made my day 🙂
I'm very happy to own an S2000, it was one of dream car under the GTR R32 or 33. Now I actually have one I love the car, the handling, and the VTEC scream
Im literally about to buy one and this video pops up in my subscriptions
Literally just bought mine last Friday😋
Lemme see it z
Did you get the Veilside kit, Bratz dolls, and Bubblegum machine to go along with it?
@@PACKERMAN2077 lmao nah, I'm more of a lowkey guy, I just plan on front splitter, rear diffuser, oem wing (maybe CR wing), functional lowering springs, and those Kansei 5 spokes. It came with Invidia N1 exhaust so thats pretty dope.
On top of that, Hondata tune to extend VTEC (I got an AP2 so VTEC only lasts for like 2000rpm lol)
But again thats all way down the road, I think theyre perfectly fine stock
@@DelinquentDJ that's a good plan I would take it as is part it out to recoup the losses and then reverted back to as stock as possible and go from there.
First I would bag it because of the Simplicity compared to juice, and lack of space. Mold in a spoon hardtop, tuck and roll as much of the body as possible, no ground effects to flare outward think, 93 cobra/na Miata lip deletes
Shave all exterior trim, mirrors latches, third brake light, door handles keyholes badges, cetera.
Nice ain't no better feeling
I pulled the trigger an my ap2v2 for 25k and got a warranty from the dealer... i didnt love it right away but man i love my s2000.
damn whats the year and mileage
I bought an S2000 almost 10 years ago. Still sitting in my garage (stock).
S2000 is best!
06 LBP s2k 57k Miles here love it 🙋🏼♂️
*reads title*
"how the hell does he even know"
i bought 00 for $8k 7 years ago today.
shifting is pure joy. brilliant car.
around how many miles? Im currently seeing 150k mile ones for 7-8k
Brandon that sounds about right.
the car is bullet proof if you keep it stock.
good luck on your search, mate! ✌🏼
Funny to see the J's Racing wing I sold to the s2000 owner at 6:05 on here.
I almost bought that car last year, it popped up on craigslist but sold before I was able to get it. I ended up getting an m3 haha
Recently bought my S2000 5 months ago in spa yellow. As of 12/12/2021, I have 21,800 miles on it. The only modification is a skunk 2 catback. I want to boost it so bad but Idk if I should. I love this car though and I don't think I'm ever going to sell it.
Could you guys make a video on the honda prelude? Its the most forgotten honda out there and literally not a lot of people talk about it
The Honda prelude should've been a RWD it would of had a spot up there with the S2K too. Beautiful car I have a soft spot for them.
I love my 5th gen and how uncommon it is around here
I own an '07 Laguna Blue Pearl S2000 (my absolute favorite color for the s2k), and I absolutely love it.
S2000s were actually made bc the first ever hondas were 2 door 2 seater rwd roadsters. The s2k is the most og Honda there is.
Im looking for an s2000 to this date !! Its my dream car
One of my dreams is to take the engine/trans out of an S2000 and install it in an AE86. I think that motor is the closest we can get to the engine Bunta put in Takumi's car.
My friend actually just bought an f20 swapped ae86!
Best car and most satisfying. Hands down.
My cuzzo has a S2k and holy shit that engine and intake equals amazing
That car is to much fun. A buddy of mine got his down to 8 seconds on the track. Sadly you don’t see them as much as before. You still see EK, EGs and teggys around were I’m from.
I’m beginning to think that y’all are stocking my internet history
Whats good Larry 🎣
Nah but if you’ve been looking up s2k videos on TH-cam this will get recommended to you
So you want a Mustang?? Recently acquired a 67 and the driving experience is so pure, it’s incredible. I’m absolutely in love
I love my s2000
@Chris Kingston I still have my s2000 yes.
My dream car was an S2000 ever since I played Gran Turismo on my Playstation. I had to buy a different car (WRX) just because I needed utility, but if that wasn't a factor I would own one right now.
How about the lexus is300 ?
Thanks for the shoutout at 3:21! Great video 🔥
The one car I’ll never sale is my supercharged s2000👍
How reliable has ur s2000 been supercharged? And has it effected the car negatively in any way?
@@peytonponder8488 The car still is driven to this day and has made several multiple hour drives to then be thrashed on all day around the mountains, and then to be driven back home again! No major issues at all!
Have owned mine for >12 years. Rock solid reliable
This car has a timeless design.
Idk why but that random pause after the burp was funny AF n definitely made me crack up lol
Never letting go of my s2k🤣
same seriously I'm going to keep mine til I die and pass down to my children.
Looking at one for sale, 14.9k. Soft top, manual, 100% stock, black on black. 98k miles. Very good condition. Im looking to buy it and then put a turbo on it. Boost it to 375ish hp. Is it worth?
Over here in the Seattle-Bellevue market nice S2K costs are in the nice E46 M3 price range.
Owned my 2001 syp since 2007. Won't sell it.
Probably will die still owning it.
And there's not another car out there I'd want over it.
Still factory clutch (and can still chirp 2nd)
Still has factory (and unopened) engine.
Still has factory diff, unmodified.
only replaced the radiator, clutch master cylinder, wheel bearings, hubs, pads rotors, tires, spark plugs, Ballade sports TCT, fortune auto 510s 11k valving and springs all around, innovative engine and trans mounts on 75A bushings, Invidia TP, and UK modded oem exhaust. plus general maintenance sht. 177k miles strong.
You nailed it alex!
Hoping to put mine in the gallery before the summer!
Can’t decide at the wheels though ;)
BET! Can't wait to see it!🙏🏼
Gram lights 👍
Jareano thinking about advan tc2’s
To much choice
I miss my s2000 so much. Absolutely great cars!
Yo can you guys do the forgotten type r? FD2 Type R

BBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH
So you want an e36 M3 ?
All day long
No thanks.
Im stuck between two options,
Stock S2000 (red with 77xxx kms)
S2000 w amuse kit (97xxxkms)
Both around same price and both are ap1
I’m getting ready to sell my Supra for an s2000
You wont regret it.
These will be future classics, clean low mileage ones like the guy who owns the detail shop I go to bought it new and babied it drove on only nice days kept stock and now decided to sell. I'd get it if I just didn't buy 2 mustangs this year, I've always wanted that car!
One of my dream cars but hard to justify buying one when you have 5 kids
Condoms are cheap.
What year s2000 is the best
At 14 I decided I would comfortably own a s2000 .
At 19 I bought an s2000 and still had 20k in the bank .
All paid for by me and on my insurance .
If you want something work hard for it and be disciplined and make no excuses .
Good luck to anyone out there who wants one !
( also have a s14 )
My friend has a white s2k and it looks pretty sick with tien coilovers with wedssport tc 105n.
are the tien coilover good for daily driving on the S2k ?
u cant find an s2k for less than 10 stax.. wtf u talkin abt? g35s g37s can b got for half that..
daesyoung I got mine for 7300. Just had blown suspension
Got mine for Barely over 10 And its Built n Boosted Making 480 To The Wheels lol...And g35s and g37s are no comparison to a S2K.....VQ Sucks LOL
S-S S-S prolly dude
The S2000 launched originally with a 2.0 F20C, from 00-03. 04 and up they had the F22C which is a 2.2 unique only to the US market.
incorrect. Japan used the 2.2 from 06 onwards
Do Bmw 335i n54👀
My brother got a s2000 super clean
I regret selling my ap2 :(. I drive a 2017 wrx now it’s cool but not cool like a s2
I wanna get an S2000, how’s it compare to the wrx? I’m fbo E85 on the wrx and I don’t want to be bored with it but I highly doubt I would be.
E85 wrx is nice brotha I’m dynotuned from phatbotti on 91 octane so I see where u coming from. Having a wrx and a s2000 would be great. S2000 just feel amazing.
