In this video, we get round to painting the brake calipers the easiest way, while still on the focus st.
The easiest way to paint your calipers at home for cheap has got to be using the kit that we ordered online.
This job can be done well in 1 day so don't hesitate to get started on your car too.

Next time take both wheels off ,do first coat on front then clean and prep the rear.by then front would be ready for 2nd coating.looks good.
obviously they would but i think the whole point of this video was to show us 1 wheel from the start to the end 👌🏽
Harris no loss brushes mate. Avoids the annoying problem of bloody bristles getting caught in your paint. Honestly the red looks great, once the wheel back on I bet you were happy with the effect. Clear coat not needed and anyway would need to be high temperature tolerant like the caliper paint. If you wanted super bright red the best thing would have been to get some White caliper paint, use that as a base coat, and do the red over the top. Not got to end of vid yet I bet it looks great. Top marks for Tesco brush set, I got one! They are a steal for the money, spot on little brushes.

Yeah they look good, Did the same to the mrs car and also paint the centre of the disc in black makes the red stand out even better and look much cleaner cheers steve 👍😀

Any overspray on the bodywork from the lacquer ?
i just sprayed mine with etch primer and kawazaki green ..mint finish

If you undo those torx bolt you will split the caliper body and will have to replace the seals
Ha gonna do mine in next few weeks also along with wheels, make the most out of being grounded bud. You drove past me the other week while I was out with little un, car looks good mate 👍

Looks good bud, a wee sand paper off the discs and rear back plate(300 or 500grit) on rear then a spray of heat proof silver on the disc centres and outer edge and black sting chip (coz it’s thicker ) on the rear back plates and that’ll really brighten it all up George 👍🏼!
Red hammerite smooth is spot on no laqure needed
God I wish I hadn’t injured my elbow. Or I would of tackled the calipers today. 😁 such a long job though, so may wait until I’m able to get a mate with the tools to help me out, and of course when this lockdown is over and it’s sunny and warm 😂😂
If you make a small slit (9”) in a plastic bag, you can stretch it over the disc/calliper assembly BEFORE painting anything? 😆
Next time you tighten some wheels up save ur back, push down, don't pull up...

What prep work would you recommend on brand new calipers? Could I just paint them without primer etc?
What lacquer was used normal or something high heat

It's good to give it a go yourself good on you. It's a shame the paint wasn't what you were expecting. It looks a lot better than some I've seen lol.

was just going to ask have you done your calipers lol
rather use bin bags poke the caliper out, use other on the body and wheel arches, and rattle can it then lacquer it..
It’s masking tape, it’s not supposed to be sticky
What laquar did you use mate as I think it finishes it off just right.

Looks better with red color of course but you could of done much better job by sanding the caliper smoothing it out and paint it and get better smooth finish , im just saying but yea other than that u did well done

I’m genuinely curious you said you have actual OCD I’ve watched quite a few of your videos and your mechanical fitting abilities are average and your work appears to be quite rough ? Surely you’d get this work professionally done ? I mean painting callipers in situ is so bad it’s unreal ,I though having OCD the very idea of it would affect you ?
