What a good spot for a variety of fish. I've been using pretty much only bread for bayou fishing and it works but I might have to try the worms and scented stuff on top of that. I would love to see you catch a 20+ pound carp in the city, that would be crazy. Also would love to see well put together reels of current videos that encourage people to watch full videos. When I was a kid, fishing, every possible minute I could, in Florida, I used to fish the golf course I lived on and canals around it for soooo many species, many, like bluegills, were routinely trophy sized, but, my single best catch and memory was a probably no more than 10 pound Tarpon that hit my greenback and took my pole into the canal. I jumped in, and yes, gators were a thing, and grabbed my line at the float, as it was going back and forth on top or the water, grabbed the tarpon, threw it on the bank above the seawall, and climbed up to the applause of the 4 golfers who were on the green next to where I was and watched the whole thing, I got my pole back, and , took one scale from my first tarpon and released it.

Fishing in spots like this is always fun. There can be incredible variety and some fairly large fish in places most people wouldn't even consider fishing.
It's also fun to have some local 'pro' standing near you laughing at how 'dumb' you are for fishing there when your rod bends over and you haul up a hog. Then their eyes are out on stalks.

13:33 That's how you hold a largemouth. It throws off his COB and temporarily paralysis the fish so you can get the hook out without him jumping around and you wind up getting the hook in your finger. I don't see how it's horrible treatment to an animal most people catch to eat in the first place. I have never had a Bass I released back into the water all of a sudden float up to the surface dead because I held him by his bottom lip. You actually put two fingers under both cavities under his mouth to support him. I can think of other predatory procedures far worse than that when it comes to nature. If it bothers you and hurts your feels that much, maybe you shouldn't be fishing in the first place.

Little man, your personal, limited, untested, unverified experience is not a basis for scientific discussion, but nice try. I'm not at all interested in how many things you think are worse. I'm stating the simple fact that it's a poor and outdated practice. You can be as offended as you want, but I base my decisions on science, not your personal triggers.

    • @wildlifefishingshow

They're just particularly poorly suited to sit on the ground because of how immensely heavy they are for their length and how important their slime is to them. Bass are a lot more durable but I'm trying to get better about that too.
