The BIG FISH start showing up at about the 7:20 mark (when the fight starts) The title is a direct reference to the PR history of the alligator gar. The thumbnail was taken during filming when some of the B-roll fish are shown and was actually used in the filming of the video (though the bait itself didn't make the final cut).
Good to have you back Pal 👍🏻 I was thinking you may have got tangled up with some kinda illness. Worms in your tubes, bumblefoot, deathly hiccups or some such thing. 😁 Glad you put the slap down on the Rona, and your family stuff settled down as well. Your channel is great, I look forward to the hunt with you! Best Regards, Eric in Oregon.
I’m glad that you’re feeling much better Bud and coming along to good health.I was wondering why you haven’t posted any videos and now I know why.God bless you and take good care of yourself…Tight lines Bud!!
I love it when the fight is over, the fish is appreciated and released, and you see them swimming back to their home. I like seeing their body and tails move side to side as they realize they are free and disappear back into the water.
GTA see you in SA one day DNAHogunter can put you on some good fish out here! Blessings to you and Yours Bruh! Great videos! Super informative and entertaining.
Great to see you back on YT - I just knew you'd been laid low, and happy to see you're recovering. That last monster was, well a monster - congratulations! And to think you took 14 hours to get there,... Wow!
I like the big fishing fight but I also love all those comments about other animals and stories about random findings. That is what we called "wild life".
Great video! I love bowfin and gar, really hate it when I see dead ones or see people telling others they’re invasive. Longnose gars r my favorite fish to catch, despite having pikes and muskies in my area, they r highly underrated, large predators with great fights
Thank you for taking us on your fishing adventures. It really feels like we are there with you. I've never been fishing before but you make it look fun, thanks again
Cool, I envy you! I live in Germany, but I come from Poland. Poland is now a complete desert of fish. They are almost absent. We used to have catfish and sturgeons, 3 meters long. Now it's hard to catch a catfish 2 meters long. It's the same in Germany. That's why I go fishing to the Netherlands and to France.
I found you about a year ago, I had already been very interested in Alligator Gar and caught some before. These are fun videos, your hard work is paying off with the growth in subscribers! Congratulations!
OMG these one is also big, once I saw a vid of you with youre friend catching a even bigger gar. These one is also a monster fish. Well done We wanna see more of this things !!!!
WOW that was amazing, my first time saw a Garfish or that kind of fish! OMG how much pound of line your using to handle that monster? Nice fishing buds, catch and releases gently.
The entire mouth is pretty much solid bone, almost impossible to penetrate. You really do have to wait for them to start trying to swallow the bait as the back of their mouth has a bit softer tissue.
hey bud, I'm glad that you and your family is safe after being ill. I see that you do spend a lot of time fishing for these monsters. What do you do to pass the time in between bites? You must read or something like that. Great videos as always.
Loved the lesson 🎣 - would never have known about the misinformation campaigns against Alligator Gar, no wonder you campaign to teach us all better the sport and health of that beautiful fish, living dinosaur, thanks 😊 for the info and of course your great content 😊 sending you love ❤from Holland, Irish ☘️ Kirsty xx
New to your channel. I watched your Nov. 2021 content catching that big Gar and some small cats in town. You got hit in the shin and muddied but not bloodied I think. lol I like your laid back personality, and your passion for fishing. Subscribed with all notifications. That was good content. I think I'm going to watch some more.
Nice video man love your videos keep up the good work, I used to not now very much about alligator gar and I was reading a book one day and it said that many people believed that alligator gar ate all of the game fish and when I caught my first gar I interested in learning more about gar
Like you caught that Blue with luck, I was shark fishing off a pier and my line snapped, but as it snapped it somehow managed to get itself in a knot around the wooden fence around the pier. I managed to handline him in, and while he was relatively small, it was an incredibly lucky moment since I only had one shark rig.
I was out exploring a lake and came across a big catfish skeleton scattered along the bank. I immediately thought of you as I was poking at it with a stick and educating my family. Anyways, I’m glad you’re better and out catching some beauties.
Fellow houstonian here. Any advice on where to catch bowfin and what to catch them on? Never fished for them before and would like to catch my first :)
@@wildlifefishingshow nothing spectacular. Pike, Yellow perch, walleye, Roofblei google says its called ASP. Catfish started to come up now. Carp and more but those are the most common fish to fish on.
I'm in Arkansas and I see Gar left dead on the bank a lot and it always upsets me.. I don't mind seeing the carp dead on the bank but I don't understand the waste of the Gar. Like they're good to eat and so fun to catch

The Zoo science lesson on how they bite with visuals was good. Gives a different perspective on why you let them run.
Thanks! No matter how many times I explain it a lot of people just still don't understand so I was hoping the bones would help
It was an excellent lesson!
Glad you recovered. Nice fish! Thanks for the video. God Bless.

That's very sad to hear about Poland. We almost lost the alligator gar here in Texas. I've heard France has amazing carp fishing.

Really enjoying the video. From the UK love seeing the multiple types of fish you catch over there
Great video! It’s also worth noting that Alligator Gar help keep invasive species like Asian carp and Nile tilapia in check.
💯 nobody talks about that
Yep! 👍🏻
Very interesting comments on the scale of the garfish. Also about the jawbone and the way they take the bait in their jaws. Thank you.
welcome back - they’re difficult & trying times - always ‘like’ amazing catch - stay safe and healthy

Would something like a quickstrike rig work better for nailing the gar?

I'm almost always shooting B-roll footage, throwing lures on light tackle, or strategizing a plan b, c, and d.
Why is circle hooks a must? Is it stronger for big fish?
Circle hooks are a must for the release. I could have caught it with treble hooks but I wouldn't have been able to get them out for a healthy release.

A lot of people kill gar here in Illinois. It’s extremely sad and a disappointing
That is sad

People treat Gar like trash, it's ridiculous. They'll literally just throw them on the shore and leave them. It happens all of the time.

Their Re-Introducing these massive fish to Illinois Rivers & Lake's
Would be incredible to see them back in those habitats
So much energy expended just to reel a fish in. You would be so tired at the end of the fishing that you wouldn’t be able to run away from a predator.
This is why Indians hunted with others nearby or from canoes so that they can still get away. Plus the energy expanded made sense so that they could feed others
I think I'd be giving myself way too much credit to think I could outrun most big predators under the best of conditions, lol
Why not carry a fish scale 😏❓
Because I already keep them out long enough showing them to the camera. I feel it's responsible for me to do only one in most circumstances so I choose the camera.
