I caught my first alligator gar in the 140-150 range in the red river. The amount of people that regularly fished there and live in north Texas that had no idea they were there is astonishing. I had to argue with people that I caught it in the red and not in Dallas or Houston.
Time after time you've proved that your hooking techniques are the future of alligator gar fishing Your care and concern for the species as a whole is what we need in the face of conservation and you've been doing an amazing job at educating so many people. What a video and what a beautiful fish in the heart of a city bayou!
I don't understand anything hahaha What's more, I wrote this comment in a translator and nothing, it was just copy and paste. But very good video despite the difficulty of the language, it is very entertaining. Greetings from Tucumán - Argentina
Nice hawg, bro. Cool trick with the hook removal. Love the channel, man...keep 'em coming! If you're ever north of the Red River, love to buy ya a beer and talk about all the ones that got away...lol
This Gar was verry calm , it looked he was in no panic . So I think he was caught a few times before .... seems logic to me . Annyway AGAIN a great beautiful Gar . Do you think those fish traveling arround in those waters ? ore do they stay in the same region ????
So far, no. I have fought a 150lb sturgeon on this same rod and tested another against a moving car and neither have grooves from the line. Truly a top notch big game rod. denalifishing.com/products/bottom-feeder-series Use my code WL2022 to save 20%
Great content man I love it, I’ve always wanted to go fishing down there in the city bayous I’m only an hour or less away from there, I also have a skeeter bass boat if you’d be interested in doing a meet up and going out on a boat and really getting some good fishing content as well as giant fish let me know, names Kenneth this is my wife’s account
@@wildlifefishingshow it’s a leg that scaffolding slips over that adjust up and down to help level scaffolding up. We call the screw legs in the masonry business.
It did initially, but what I've found is that with a lot of fish, they will match the level of pressure you put on them. If you can lead a fish around without pulling too hard, often times they will lower their level of resistance.
Should I make a genuine effort to break the world record alligator gar? Weight taken on camera?
Yes or No, tell me why here.
Yes cus that would just be awesome
Yes if you think you have a shot only allows for an opportunity to bring more attention to a fish that needs protection.

Only if it’s guaranteed to not do lasting damage to the fish.

Love the big bait content bro. Definitely entertaining. As far as catching the record gar, I see no one better to lure the monster 💪🏾. Good luck

What a beautiful monster, yeah I like the circle hook myself and it seems to be catching on here in Florida. Great catch 👊

I need that piece of ACME thread for the elevation device on a cannon I am building.
Just laying around there .
Get that damn roadrunner
Hello sir..looking to see what baitfeeder reel u were using?
It's just a Daiwa BG 5000 with the bail open, not a true baitfeeder
You should sell those Gar to Mambo seafood, just don't tell them where you catch them.
I haven't been to Mambos but from the way people talk about their food, I probably could tell them where it came from and it wouldn't change much, lol
That looks like the Houston area.
Yep, downtown
I'm sub to your patreon and I was wondering where is that first location that you get your live bait from??
Brays bayou under 288

Also man I gotta say you do a great job with that cast net lol I still struggle and my dads been showing me for 30 years lmao 🤣
Do you eat anything you eat or do you just practice catch and release!
Catch and release 99% of the time (always with gar)
The metal object was a scaffolding leg.
Nope, screw jack
@nytugre what's a screw jack?
