Halito 👋🏽 fellow tiny houser here. Excellent upgrades. If I may make a suggestion, it really helped when we blocked the flow of air under the house. We have put a layer of foam insulation board on the ground under the house. Then we used a cheap "concrete blanket" from harbor freight as skirting. And straw bales to help hold it in place and for added insulation. Keeping the floor warm made a huge difference for us. Like most things, constant little improvements go a long way. Wishing you the best. Great place!!! 🧡🏠
You should try heavy insulated curtains over your window and door, people under estimate how much this helps. Think back to medieval times when they used wall hangings and curtains around their beds! A couple of your large rugs rolled up during the day and let down at night would look great . Maybe a cheddar cat porch extension to cut down on heat escaping would help as well x
Your sister is always there for you and that’s nice that she is willing to help you. Closing the open gaps should help you stay warm and with your handyman coming to insulate your ceiling will really help. In the mean time if you have a large tarp to put over the top of your tiny house it may help with the air coming inside your home. Temporary until your handyman comes. Elijah they have what is called winter insulation covers for doors, window, and garages. They are thick and keep cold out during winter and cool in during summer. Amazon you can buy they have them and in different colors.
I saw on another video that bubble wrap makes a good quick & cheap insulation, you can put it on the inside of your windows (it will self stick if the window is a little damp). (Bubbles facing the outside). I put it on one of my windows and covered the edges of the window too. I also taped it to my door frames with duct tape. It’s helped!
👋🏾 new sub here. Watching and catching up from Michigan. Just some tips...You can trim the foam after it dries with a box cutter to give it a cleaner look. I don't have a tiny home, but it's old and shifty. I have plugged so many holes and cracks with plumbers putty ( kind of like play doh, but doesn't get hard.) and foam it's probably ridiculous 😂. I either paint over it or use some type of decorative peel and stick trim/panel to cover it. I also use shower curtain liners to cover my windows. Frosted with designs/patterns and painters tape. It's thicker and I don't have to keep the curtains closed at 14°. We gotta do what we gotta do, right 😊 stay healthy, stay warm💪🏾
I think, you might also consider “cork insulation” inside or outside your tiny home, if you like. They are natural insulators and keep away bugs. Besides heavy curtains and your wonderful rugs you make. Great job your sister did 😊
@@elijahray132they sell plastic shrink wrap window kits, bought them and put them over the windows in a draft old Victorian house my sister rented an apartment in. The kits I got were kewl, they had plastic tracks that opened up, that stuck to the inside window frames, you cut the plastic shrink wrap sheeting a tiny bit bigger than the opening clipped it in the track then used a blow drier to shrink it tight. It was cool because the plastic could be removed in the spring and summer and new shrink wrap plastic bought. It really helped with the drafts.
Who says men don't wear earmuffs. It's 2025 ffs men should be able to wear whatever they want like females can. I never ever thought ear muffs were gender specific anyway, not that anything should be. If people would study history they'd see both sexs wore skirts for most of recorded history. People are so weird about genders and customs as if it matters. Maybe if we were all just super furry creatures it would be better, I don't know. I'm old and grumpy today, just wish humans were more kind.

Very true! And I know she’s the best so helpful!
I edited to let you know of the insulation door covers. But you can also buy for your windows as well.

You’re very welcome
I always use curtains over my door during the cold weather.
I mostly closed my windows night with curtains. 🤓
Yeah I've definitely been thinking about that!
Hi cheddar ! Hey wear the ear muffs. I don’t care what you wear,as long as you are honest and true to yourself. What’s up sis? Love your videos.

I think that should help, Elijah

Are your walls insulated?
If that doesn’t work wrap the whole thing with plastic it might keep the wind out if it’s tight enough I am just thing inexpensive and temporary.😊
Yess true!
where do u keep it? ur fams property?
It’s my property I bought my house a year and a half ago I’m renting it out while I live in a part of the backyard
Might consider putting plastic over your windows
Yeah I’ve been thinking that
