You would think. Without the modification you have to be careful with it. The product needs the modification when I use it. But, I really do like how convenient it is compared to self spooling. Thanks Kevin
Could you tell us if you had any issues with putting the store bought fishing line on the spooler? If you could just put it straight on or if you had to take off the shaft off then put the store bought line holder on that way and screw the shaft back onto the spooler?
Mine works tons better at unspooling I’ve had it for years with no problems. Its shape is just like the handle part of a pole it uses aa batteries it’s about 4” long. You stick your line in the tip and press a button and it shoots the line out the other side extremely fast It probably takes less than 20 seconds to despooll a reel of all its line of any kind of line.It’s waterproof also and there is nothing to get tangled. Now it won’t help on respoolling but I don’t mind winding it on . I keep it in my tackle box it’s so small and handy.

The scan code is 28632 69072 they also have one like what you demonstrated but it looked a lot better than yours. Its price was $19.99 . I have pictures of them but I would need a email or some info on how I can put pictures on here. Just let me know if I can help in any way but I know you would like it I’ve had mine 10 or 15 years and it’s never had any flaws. Hope this helps ya 👍👍
@@borfishing7690 if space prevails, un clamp and turn the whole unit upside down and reclamp it under the bench... no more backwards winding with a spin reel.. How has the unit lasted as Im looking at a purchase for myself?
Looks like it works great for a conventional, but a spinning you have to wind it upside-down not good for getting it just right on your spool. Been there done that...
Personally, I like it for unspooling. I have used it to spool my big spinning reels reeling them backwards. But yes, much more convenient for baitcast reels. Thanks Michael

where did you get your red knob you installed ?
The screw knob comes with it. I just tapped into the shaft it tightens to so that the screw would get a better grip.

It would work well for a baitcaster, but for a spinning reel you need to spool it the natrual way the line comes off the spool.
It is a little more wobbly putting line on a spinning reel, but it will do it. I have to reel backwards.
