You helped me out in the first five seconds. I haven't been that careful about the direction of the spool turning and have had some line twists. Thanks mate!
Thanks, you got me started in game fishing. I copied your setup initially because I did not know better. Now I know better and understand what a great setup this is. I skipped buying the wrong gear initially and figuring out later on what was the right stuff, all thanks to you. Spooled it up exactly the same way, splicing, winding, biminis, everything worked exactly as you showed it. It's a beautiful rig and works fantastically well (I used this from a cruising sailboat). Thanks for providing this super high quality content/knowledge completely for free, and even entertaining me in the process.
Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod th-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.
Hi Matt, Just setting up a bunch of overheads for trolling, plenty of guys telling me to go mono over braid in case of lines crossing over and breaking etc. what’s your thoughts mate? Cheers.
Mate I’m Aussie no more questions I’ve been putting tape on my spools for years now. I have never had corrosion. If anything I have found it to prevent corrosion because it acts like a barrier between the salt and the spool.
My wife say all that fishing pole in that living room is enough for cops to come already ! Me out the door and she take the house while during and after divorce is finalized ! Shhhhhhhh...... don't nobody tell her though ! My house and all assets belongs to my mom ! Shhhhhhh 😂😂😂😂😂😂

"You get tension alright" ~ lol
it gets me every time I watch this..
How much tension do you set the drag at for spooling 65lb braid with the bees knees spooling tool?
does that line ever slip on the spool?
Thanks for the tutorial...Fish On!
Thank Matt. I'm seventy sex years old and only started fushing. Great to hear instrictions in an iccent I can understind.

Should you soak braid before you put it on?
Great video! What line spooler is that please?
Trying to build a rig for a talica 50, is a UC blank 80-130 rail rod good enough to pair with it and use 100-300lb braid
That first comment about the Wife hit on Point haha...
What is the brand name of the line spooler?
Daiwa sell one similar.
Hi Matt,
Just setting up a bunch of overheads for trolling, plenty of guys telling me to go mono over braid in case of lines crossing over and breaking etc. what’s your thoughts mate?
Cheers.
This man gave Great formation you just got a dial it in as you like
Should tape that spool with some electrical tape to really help prevent slippage. Helps the knot bite into something.
Yup misses gave me tension too sir
Would the uni knot work using mono instead of braid?
it’ll work bro
San diego jam knot is better than uni. Wrap tag end under the wraps.
That's a cool idea I normally do a abror knot I am going to try this thanks mate
How come you don't put tape on the spool?
Tape corrodes the spool

jman3336 I heard that as long as u wash ur reals after each trip it won’t corrode
Man that's way better than my pencil between the feet method
@@jman3336 what kind of tape? masking?
I never knew this thanks mate 👍
Hey where can I buy the 50 reel what you have?
What rod is that
Great tips, much appreciated!
Hello. Do you guide the line manually?
Yes you just use your left thumb, you will get use to it and it becomes automatic.
@@UltimateFishingTV I see.. Thanks
Where did you get the spool holder?
Busted fishing in australia sell them mate all their stuff is top knotch. Best stuff on the market
Why use a reel without a line guide?
WHERE IS THE ANTISLIP TAPE ON BOTTOM OF SPOOL?
I may of missed it, what reel is it?
Shimano Talica 50
awesome video
Backing backings
Terima kasih, dengan sedikit video saudara itu, sangat membantu dan menambah wawasan saya sebagai pemancing pemula #Reel & jorannya Good. I like it
Got one of those spoolers, it’s the cat’s meow.
i like the side story than the actual spooling
Your hands not in the video at the start so can not see what you are doing
man...anyone noticed the DD @ 1:45... I'm so Jealous right now.
Everything you did was correct except you didn’t put backing on the reel. So expect your braid to slip when you get close to the bottom of the spool
Haven't had it slip yet. 😉
hahahaha my mrs hates it too!!!
I don't know hou much tinshon...
