    Great memories being made. My Dad and I did a rebuilt my first engine in a 64 Falcon it was 1974 and I was 14 years old. It wasn't a V8. 170 six cylinder three on the tree manual choke. It was in much better shape that your project. We spent the next 2 years fixing it up and it was my very first car. Enjoy your time with your Dad.

    My Dad was an excellent mechanic. He grew up on a farm and was a jack of all trades. The Army trained him as a machinist and that is what he did for most of his life. Unfortunately he was also a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic. He had no patience for us kids. He just couldn't tolerate us and Mom divorced him a couple of times partly because of that. There was a time, a very short period when he was more of less sane. At that time he was working at a Volkswagen dealership as a mechanic. I remember a blissful day or two "helping" him overhaul an engine. He was patient and took the time to teach. I was in heaven. I would have grabbed that knowledge and ran with it if I could have. As luck would have it, it didn't last.
    This kid has no idea how lucky he is. I don't know what happens when the camera is off but I bet it's the same. Son, LEARN from your Daddy. He is a treasure.

    I am also working on a 63 falcon. near the end of your video 35.12 was a shot of the wiring going back into the fire wall. This was very helpful to me. I have been working on it now just over a year. Putting windshield in soon. i found my wires mixed in with my chevy wires on old pu. Keep up the good work! I have not been able to get to much help from my son. I have a picture of him and the car. He is at the steering wheel and about 4 years old. He is 40 now. I decided if it was to happen I should get with the project, work on it most days.

      I still have it but have yet to make any headway. The next step is floorpan replacement and that’ll happen winter 2024.

      @@WompFilterProductions qIreally love that you are doing this 64 Falcon. The part I don't like is you calling the FORD A MATIC a power glide, and the Magnum 500 wheels are no way a really wheel. Must be the generic motors mentality. Other wise great project car.

    I think the challenge here would be to sell whats in the trunk, to offset the cost of the vehicle. Even if it's 2 or 3 hundred bucks, what fun getting the car for free. I think I would do a Gasser, everybody loves Hot Rods, and would be cheaper to build.

    • @WompFilterProductions
      @WompFilterProductions  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Selling the old stuff is a good idea! I like my cars to handle a little in the corners but it sure would look good as a gasser! Thanks for the comments 🤙🏽

    Factory paint is Guardsman Blue...unusual with a red rather than blue interior. Wheelcovers are from a 1957 Ford Fairlane.

    They used to butcher a hole on the shock towers to get grease into the squeaky upper control arms. You had to unscrew the plug and put a grease fitting in. The whole front suspension on Falcon/Mustang was not that great.

    The constant shifting, circular movement and movement over all with the camera... cute at first but I honestly was getting motion sickness after a while... hope the next one is a little less... erratic? Not kidding about the motion sickness thing. Anyway, cool project.
