The Sinatra Select is available here in Ohio and can be found without too much trouble. It sells for $155 here and usually just sits on the self. It is a really nice looking box and maybe it's worth a one time buy just for collectors value considering it is a 1L bottle.
This is really funny because while listening to this while looking for something to have a pour of, I poured my Jack Daniel's single barrel select from 10-20-21
Love Jd squat bottles , I got a Sinatra as a gift on my retirement , love single barrel , thanks guys , I won’t be opening the Sinatra after this , it’s a looker on the bar shelf , great content as per , keep up the smiles
Agree. I love JD products. It’s nice to have the Sinatra Select for guests but I prefer single barrel, barrel proof and of course the 12 year. All cheaper than the Sinatra
I have come to love all things Jack Daniel's. Not surprisingly, I go bananas over bananas too! I think the Sinatra Select is best thought of as an overall experience for a JD fan and a must to complete a collection. No way did I ever expect it to beat my SBBPs or SBBP Ryes but it is still a good pour that has a unique profile. It is always the bottle that catches the eyes of visitors and gives me a an opportunity to introduce them to a world other than the Old No. 7 of their youth they would rather forget.
Have not tried the single barrel JD yet, but I have had the SB rye and it is one of my favorites. I’ll have to give the JD a shot! Thanks for the review
JD Single Barrel changed my mind about Jack Daniels as my only real experience with JD was how Old No. 7 ruined my bachelor party 😅 It's a great value - lots of flavor for a lower proof pour, and you can pretty much find it everywhere for under $50. I have heard mixed reviews on the Sinatra Select, but I happened upon one for about $100 and decided to bite the bullet, though I haven't cracked it yet. Glad to know I didn't overpay! At least the box is nice. Maybe I'll save it as a gift...
I really enjoy the Sinatra juice as I was gifted a bottle and had some fun gatherings with it. Even poured some neat for No 7 drinkers with slightly cringy moments when they later mixed Sinatra with Dr. Pepper but to each their own and the guests had a great time.
It’s a great gift bottle for sure! There’s definitely a good market for that purpose given its presentation. We wouldn’t be mad at having one around at all.
I had the Single Barrel Select for the first time today... and was really impressed! I plan to buy a backup (and a backup to the backup) tomorrow. No interest at all in the Sinatra.
I'm a big fan of JD in general. Anything in that squat square bottle is usually great. I've been tempted several times by the Sinatra but suspected it wouldn't be worth the price of admission. Thanks for confirming that!
I’m a fan of all JD products however, the Sinatra select in my opinion is such a silly waste of $169.99. It’s all marketing hype the bottles can be readily found at every single store here in Florida gathering dust on the shelf.
I did the JD distillery tasting with all the single barrel products, gold no27, and sinatra... And the gold and sinatra were just not as impressive. They are smooth but lacking depth of flavor that you get from the single barrels and barrel strength, the rye is fantastic
I got my Sinatra Select from a Duty Free, since where I live is the only way to get it. I really like the bottle, box, however when I sipped, it was like a smoother version of Single Barrel Select, for the price $180, I got disappointed, since I’m a Sinatra fan, I can’t complain at all.
I picked up a bottle of the Chinese New Year, Year of the Dragon. It's just Single Barrel in a nice box. I haven't had JD since I was in my 20's as I quit drinking bourbon until I was 50 and I always thought JD was a cheap drink. I have since educated myself and have found put that they make some great bourbon. I am looking forward to popping this one open. Another great blind guys.
Sipping some JD SB Select now....Flavor bomb.....94 proof. Hard to compare the 80 proof JD flavored water in the Sinatra bottle with this banger... Mix SB Select with Barrel proof for a real treat. The harsh reality here is you are getting regular 80 proof old number 7 in the Sinatra bottle...You're paying for the name and fancy box. It's a collectors item not a drinker. The JD Select is JD select..... Good show! Thanks.
I heard it was bitter and cost too much. I'll stick with my Old No.7. I also like the Tenessee Honey and Tenessee Apple blends. Don't have to give up groceries for a week to pay for them either.
I would be curious what non-high proof bourbon drinkers would think blind. I personally get leather notes I never get on other JD products that endears me to the JD Sinatra. The JD Select I own is a barrel pick and tastes like the typical JD bourbon profile. Definitely some I will have to blind in the future.
Maybe. Some of the barrel proof single barrels can be quite hot (even if they’re in the mid 120s) while others are great (even if they’re in the low 130s). The variance of single barrels means you never really know unless it’s a store or group selection and you know the palates that picked it. That said, the 94 proofer is definitely worth picking up in our book. You could even try blending the two in different ratios to find your perfect proof point.
I've never cared for Frank Sinatra, so I sure won't buy something just 'cause his name's on it. 🙂 But I have learned that Jack Daniel's can make good whisky when they want to - the black label is emphatically NOT their best whisky and I wish it didn't have everyone's attention the way it does. 9:13 I've not had the regular JD Single Barrel, but I love the Single Barrel Barrel Proof. Due to budget considerations the next JD I buy, whenever that is, will be the standard single barrel.
I'm confused. Are you blinding Single Barrel Barrel Proof or Single Barrel Select? The bottle image you show during the first tasting is of the Single Barrel Barrel Proof bottle, but the stats sheet depicts stats from Single Barrel Select. Both single barrel products...
So funny Josh it's hard not to try and want to guess what you're drinking to kind of prove that you have a good pallet and can remember each whiskey. If I was you I would be guessing all day even if it is blind, which is the best way and I love that you guys do it that way. Anyways who cares if you guess Guess away brother
Haha I hear ya but I have to refrain. As soon as I think I know what I’m drinking, inherent bias starts to kicks in. Much more fun when I’m surprised vs when I’m right.
Sinatra select is decent, not 150 decent, however, if they came out with a Jack Daniels Sinatra Select Single Barrel Barrel Proof, I’d probably pay a pretty penny.
"Those aren't jazz hands...THESE are jazz hands" 👋👋Are the allergies kickin' up back there or was Erin trying out her Kathleen Turner voice at the beginning of the video? 😂 I always like it when it's pointed out how lower priced whiskey can be better even in the face of its higher priced cohorts marketing.
Because water impacts your palate just as much as going glass to glass, and we take our time off camera in the middle of the video to rinse, wait, sip, repeat back and forth.
How does water impact the palate? I thought that you taste one then try to cleanse the palate before you try the other so as to try to not have the finish of the first. That's how I think is best I may be wrong about that.
@@rafaelcapellan4115 a single drop of water in an entire glass of whiskey can change it. A whole mouthful of water and the residual left after swallowing will impact the next sip. Same for letting the whiskey sit on your palate with saliva production. Bottom line is do what works for you. For us, time is the only guaranteed way to avoid influence, which is why we take a break in the middle. Water before, other whiskey before, etc all impact our next sip unless we wait, so we do what consistently works for us and encourage others to do the same. There is no right way. Only the way that works for you.

The single barrel ryes are also great. I actually chose it over the TN whiskey in a blind. Love your format and content!
I get a kick out of this, great video 🎩🥃
It was a fun one for sure. Thanks for tuning in man!
JD Single Barrel is my go to sipper, flavor, decent proof, available everywhere for $45-50

This went pretty much exactly how i expected. That said id take a bonded or barrel proof over either.

I recently gifted a Sinatra for a coworker's retirement. That gave the box and presentation some value. I agree the whiskey alone is just ok.

I'm putting Jack Daniels SB on my birthday whiskey suggestion list. I like Jack Daniels🥃❤️🥃
Great blind, and this tracks based on what I've heard about Sinatra. The JD Single Barrel is an enjoyable and underrated bottle. Cheers guys!
The reason why Sinatra tastes a little softer, is because Jack Daniel tries to achieve the flavor the way Sinatra liked his Jack Daniel's
For some reason those Sinatra Selects warm the shelf around here. Even at MSRP.
I heard it was bitter and cost too much. I'll stick with my Old No.7. I also like the Tenessee Honey and Tenessee Apple blends. Don't have to give up groceries for a week to pay for them either.

I see sinatra all over MD and have never/would never buy it at that price
Y’all just saved me $150 😂 I’ve been eyeing Sinatra for a while now out of sheer curiosity, I love JD but it was hard to drop that kinda money on it
I have a bottle of the single barrel that's waiting to be opened. Looking forward to it when I'm ready to try it.
I don't have JD in my collection, but if I decide to get one, the single Barrel will be the one to get.
139.99 for Sinatra in Florida here. I have 1.
nice vid.
What was the place where you can go to party that is invite only? Group of different people bring your own bottle?
A private bottle share? If that’s not it, hit us with some more details and we’ll try to help.
it was a guy at his house and he teaches you about bourbon and you had to sign up,@@stuffandwhiskey
I have a jd sb barrel at 128 and find it too difficult to drink without adding water. Would I be better off just going with 94 proof?

Single Barrel Select is the black label 94 proofer in this tasting. Barrel proof is the gold label and not a part of this tasting.

FYI: Sinatra is a 1 liter bottle.......
They have both. 750 ml and 1L.
@@BuckMcAntlerson yeah, but they were comparing the 1L cost to another 750ml bottle price......not apples to apples...
