I don't drink I live in Kentucky all kinds of bourbon around Kroger's had raffles for Black Friday for Happy Van Winkle bottles they had a couple 12 years and 23 years
I just can’t justify buying anything over $75. Benchmark single barrel for $21 and Russel’s 10 for $39. Jack Single Barrel barrel proof for $60. They do just fine for me
I totally get that but a big part of the fun is trying new juice. I don't drink just to drink nor do any Of my friends so only having 2 or 3 bottles wouldn't scratch the itch.
There's definitely a point of diminishing return. But if you've got the money it can be fun just to see what the deal is with the crazy expensive stuff.
@@strongside4565 well said. Like I've got a Wild Turkey Master's Keep Voyage I paid 300 w/tax SRP for at a raffle and I hate that bottle bc of what I paid for it. Yet I've got a Russell's Reserve 13 year I paid the same amount for it above SRP and I adore that bottle. But it's also tied to an experience so there's more to it than just price.
@Brewzle thank you for getting slowing down while videoing the shelves. I appreciate what you do and I take your advice when looking for something new to drink
I know you always say you appreciate us watching until the end, but let me just say we appreciate you filming until the end. The fact that these are not short little five minute videos makes for great entertainment on Friday evening. :)
Wild turkey 101 70th year is $50 and honestly it doesn’t taste like it’s worth more than that. It does taste good. It is definitely better than regular wild turkey 101. However, I can’t imagine paying more than even $70.
I just toured Sagamore Distillery in Baltimore two days ago and it’s awesome! They have two different blends. They age 4-6 years minimum in non-temperature controlled rickhouses so the heat and cold of the seasons help expand and shrink so the flavor gets drawn out of the barrel better. Really good stuff, their bottle in bond in what I took home. If u take a tour ask for Jake - he’s great
The prices I've seen on those Antique 107s hurt my feelings everytime. I saw one sitting on the shelf for $200 bucks yesterday. I'd love to find it for about 100 less, but ER10 goes for $65 these days so it feels like a bit of a pipe dream.
Man I was getting a couple bottles of 107 a year here in Buffalo for market price back in 2017 or so... About 35 after tax. And right down the aisle was a whole display of eagle rare 10-year for 32.99. That sale went all year long for about 2 years straight. Those were the days man.
I got a 107 for $109 in Oklahoma last week, I’ll probably never see another for that price so I snagged it. Only store I stopped at so it was sheer luck, but decent deals are out there.
You know kentucky is the heartland when the allocation is just on the shelves. It has started here and everything is a damned release event. It's become not even worth building relationships unless you can become golf buddies with the store owner.
I was in a store south of Louisville that had a case of early times blacktop. I grabbed all six went to the counter and they were $200 apiece so I put them back. So they are still out there at astronomical prices.
Tried my first Goose Island today (Vanilla Rye Stout) and this was delicious! Makes sense on why you pick up a few when you go on these bourbon hunts haha!
In my opinion Bardstown's High Wheat is one of the best wheaters on the market that's regularly available. To me it just totally blows out WSR and while it's very different to OWA I think it's probably just as good. For $45 it's an extremely underrated bottle in most places.
I need to check it out. Love good wheaters. Have you had Green River wheated? One of my all times favorite regular pours and definitely my favorite wheater so far.
@@matthewhenry6276 I haven't had it yet but I will shortly, Green River is actually doing a tasting at a store near me very soon and hopefully I can pick up a bottle at MSRP then. Bardstown's High Wheat I personally like a lot because you get a great combination of the wheat smooth sweetness and a bit of what is really convincing faux rye spice on the finish that while it does contrast the sweetness I think more than anything enhances it.
@brewzle love the channel. It’s always interesting to see the prices from state to state. Here in Ohio, most prices are state controlled but limited in what is available. Especially any item from Buffalo Trace distillery. Hard to find sitting on a shelf.
A good location to check would be the Kroger at the Jefferson mall in louisville, its a little smaller but not to many people in that area drink bourbon so i found blantons once on a tuesday afternoon. But i used to live there and go to that kroger all the time
Shop vs Shoppe - Shoppe is an archaic spelling(Olde English) of shop and is used only in proper names of places wanting to sound quaint and old-fashioned. The Pop Shoppe and The Medicine Shoppe are a couple of examples ! TJ with an entourage now on bourbon hunts !
That’s my hometown! That Cox’s is a good shop. Grabbed a Blantons Gold for close to MSRP a few days ago. Wish i would’ve ran into you guys! Love your videos. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
Early times was my bourbon pick in college. I’ve recently gotten back into bourbon and will be on the hunt for Coopers Craft 100 for sure. I’ve seen other great reviews on it. Both Cooper and Craft are also sentimental names to me. My lab and my son
I’m a huge fan of Makers Mark and you walking past all those Heart Releases brought tears to my eyes😂 I can never find anything good i’m going to relent soon and buy it online.

Really appreciate the effort filming the selection a bit more clearly.
$200 for a WT70th?! That's outrageous. Especially the local secondary is like 70 😂
That's highway robbery. Local Meijer has them for $50.
Give it a few years when thatll be the secondary
My total wine has them for like $53 and I thought that was high lol

The store is ludicrous for pricing something so high like that.

floor whiskey in Ohio is allocated on or near allocation day. You can find travellers, weller, lux row, ect.
You can find whatever you want in Kentucky if you're willing to pay it unless you're at the distillery for a release
$200 for a wild turkey 70th is absolutely insane
TJ the Trade Water you picked up has a Single Barrel that is really good for the price.
